I installed the DLR power wiretap to the INJ 10amp fuse as instructed & while stopped at a light waiting for it to turn green, the truck engine abruptly shut off, it would turn over but not restart - had it towed to the dealer who found the problem was that it threw all of the codes for the fuel injector system because this jumper was robbing the necessary power for the fuel injector system - they removed the DLR jumper & it cleared the codes & started right up - cost me several hundred dollars & 2 days without the truck - I would recommend if buying DO NOT INSTALL JUMPER TO INJ fuse as recommended - there have been several posts about others having this same problem - I have reached out to Aplharex and not heard back
The drls on alpharex lights are just weak and in the daytime you can barely tell they are on but look sick at night. I went with the morimotos with the amber drl and they are the brightest by far. The low and high beams are brightest and the amber drl is definitly super bright. Also got the morimoto xb led fog lights and the morimoto taillights. Absolutely transformed my 4runner.
I am finding wherever I can to report how terrible Alpha rex products are and their customer service. I had a set purchased for a toyota. Impossible to level them from the install and they did not want to help. Always the customers fault. I then had an issue that everyone kept flashing me and I later discovered the lights were constantly changing brightness on their own. shortly after that, they filled up with so much condensation that it looked like someone poured water into them. The units are not even a year old. I have been trying to work with Alpha Rex for months now and they keep telling me they are looking into it if I can ever get them to respond. Makes it impossible to drive your vehicle when the lights don’t work and there is no concern from the company to address. Absolutely horrible customer service.
Never had an issue with them or their product. I had the luxx series headlights in my 05 dodge ram 2500 5.9 cummins for nearly five years, no problem except for when I received them the passenger side low beam had no hotspot, after getting in touch with them, I sent in the requested pictures and video of the headlights in my old truck and I got the replacement in a day, and packed the defective one back never had an issue after that. I have an 06 dodge ram 2500 5.9 cummins, and I ordered their nova series headlights cause my eyes want more brightness and a fuller and a wide beam that not even the morimoto headlights offer. So maybe if was genuinely a manufacturing defect, call them back and talk to someone else and if they ask for pictures and the like, get their email and send it to them.
I followed your instructions but had to put the add a fuse assembly back to what Alpharex recommended. When I did it the way you did in order for the fuse box lid to close properly it made my turn signals go haywire haha.
Sorry you ran into an issue. We only changed the location of the fuse because our 4Runner is newer and the fuse box layout was not the same as the one Alpharex had shown in their instructions.
When I use the fuse that you recommended, my driver side headlight on my 23 ORP turns on for about 15 secs then turns off. But the original fuse that was supposed to be used it works perfect but fuse box doesn’t close all the way
Thanks for the video! I’m running into similar issues with my fuse box cover when using the INJ fuse on my ‘21 4runner. Have you noticed any issues using the H-LP fuse for your DRLs?
Everything has been good so far. The only thing I noticed but I'm not sure if it's the lights themselves or what, but when you have the lights on and turn the key off they stay on. And the 4runner doesn't ding or anything letting you know you left the lights on.

it's weak cause he didnt wire it correctly; you have to use INJ; the other fuse he used only provides power when headlights are on and not an ACC only

Are these Alpha Rex NOVA Headlights the V1 or G2?? And the primary difference between to the 2.

How come the stock headlight projector beam is sealed? Does this mean I can’t upgrade the bulb inside?
If you have factory led headlights, you can't upgrade them. It's a sealed unit.
Do you have a video showing how to disconnect the TSS?

From what I can tell, It doesn't look like that harness is available separately. I would reach out to AlphaRex and see what they can do for you.

@yotaxpedition did you check the orientation of the power for the fuse tap? My multimeter isn’t able to get a 12v read

You could do this by adding a switch between the wire you added to the fuse box and the lights.
Can you tap the DRL let’s say to a Control Panel like auxbeam?

The OEM LED option is certainly a quality light! The AlphaRex does add some style, no arguing that.
