"Smash" Star Megan Hilty Sings Marilyn Monroe Song in Rehearsal for "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes"

  • Take a glamorous look at gold-digging with blonde bombshell Lorelei Lee (Megan Hilty) in Encores!' upcoming staging of "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" The musical premiered in 1949 with Tony winner Carol Channing in the role of Lorelei Lee and was adapted into the iconic 1953 film with Marilyn Monroe as Lee. Get a first look at the new Lorelei as Hilty takes on the number "Little Girl From Little Rock." Directed by John Rando, "Blondes" will be the final offering of the Encores! season, running at New York City Center from May 9 through May 13. On May 1, Broadway.com got a sneak peek at this exciting production in rehearsal, with three toe-tapping tunes performed by Hilty, Rachel York and more.

      @@chloe-rt5xy No, it isn't. Marilyn never sang this version of 2 little girls from Little Rock as she and Jane Russell sang it in a duet.
      This is Broadway version of songs sang originally by Carol Channing so if it is anyone's song it is Carol's.

    Leave Smash and Marilyn out of this for Christ sake .They have both did this song .But this have nothing to do with Smash .And this is no Marilyn song , it's song from gentlemen prefer blondes a musical . Songs that Marilyn have portrayed on screen about 60 years ago . I love Megan I respect her talent and everything , but here she is Megan rehearsing song to portrayed Lorelei Lee not Marilyn . And 2 artists can perform the same song without having anything in common .
