I didn't know international sign language existed! I always wondered how deaf people from different countries communicate. These things almost make me wish I was deaf haha. This really helps in understanding deaf people though!
I’m learning ASL right now, even though all my family is hearing. I want to be friends with a deaf girl from one of my classes since last year ASL club was cut short by COVID.
You can learn online these days, it takes a bit longer though. It’s easier to learn face to face. Awesome that you want to learn asl for this deaf girl, she will appreciate it. 👍🏻
I"m HOH and omg it's so nice when I can just take my hearing aids off, esp. when it's really noisy or there's a crying baby around, or just a lot of ruckus happening. My best friend and I took ASL in college so we can communicate with each other mainly when out in public, and it's so much easier for me esp. when there's a lot of noise and people around and I still can't hear her clearly, even with my HA's. I really enjoyed this video, it is so spot on, even though I'm not Deaf, I can relate, A LOT. :)
i freaking LOVE this guys outfit... the chain detail under the collar and the nikes with the sweater over the collared shirt... VERY nice ! he looks so good. yall r both s'cute!
My boyfriend does sign. But he knows the old signs. I'm always been interested since I met my boyfriend I knew him before but didn't know he was 100% deaf... Only thing I hate about shops they don't learn sign or take masks off for the deaf I get so angry and annoyed they can't see my boyfriend deaf can tell he is as his got his hearing aids in and his colclear implant I think it's called and still don't care about that I have to go in the shops with him sometimes. I know some signs but not alot
Ikr cuz once i was shopping with my mom and my cochlear implants died so i was like "shit-" and everytime someone tried to talk to me my mom would say " She cant hear you shes deaf" like 💀
@@alisonfraserbage3839 it's the same with my boyfriend he hates it when his implant goes out of battery. He carries around batteries it's good idea to do
Haha I love Bloopers! Thanks for adding those funny moments. The best thing is to take off my hearing aids to avoid annoying sounds. ( I see your Miami sweatshirt they are cool!) Keep up your awesome videos!
One time at summer camp there was a deaf boy and his brother. And while they where far away from each other in a big crowd, they signed to each other. Mostly because I was so shocked how easy they could talk so far away from eachother without shouting and I had no idea what they where saying! For my kid brain it felt like some sort of super power or secret languge. I found that very cool haha.
I’m from North American and your sign language are different than mine, but I can understand your sign language! It made me interesting your country sign language and easy learning from you!! I love your video!
I love watching your vidoes Jazzy, being deaf has its own culture. Another best thing about being deaf, is you can take your CI off if your boss is giving you a hard time. 😆
If I would be deaf, I would be happy that I can't hear neighbors anymore and can sleep peacefully. My entire life I have been bothered by people when I want to sleep. Loud neighbors, parties until I don't know when and/or a partner who is snoring and teeth crinding. Ear plugs don't help much with those unfortunately.
Great vid. I can relate to some of the best things. I know when it stormy at night. Flashing lights from the window. I have to face the other way from the flashes. Bliss. Have a good day and thanks for the signs everyone.
Despite me constantly telling people that I am deaf and literally cannot hear, people still constantly try to call me. I usually hit ignore, but sometimes I just sit there and watch it ring. Especially if it's from someone who knows better like the person at vocational rehab. Even then, people leave voicemails and wonder why I'm not answering/getting back to them.
Enjoyed watching this since I can relate to some of these. I can actually talk on the phone again since I can stream phone calls to my iPhone XR to my right sided cochlear implant and will soon be having left sided cochlear implant surgery.
Great video.Excalty most deafs are like that .. Im the same except CI..I noticed near the end Benny sign his name similar irish spelling. Im from Ireland but know some BSL.
I gotta say, being able to turn off your hearing is crazy cool, but being able to communicate with somoeone through a wall or closed door or in the darkness is definitely worth the extra trouble. Plus you always need to be looking to the persons you're talking to so you need to be switching your complete focus to them, and i don't think doing that while driving is a good idea for example
I was on my vacation with my family in the Philippines. I stayed at my grandparents’ home and I woke up in the morning then found some furnitures from patio moved inside. I asked my sister what happened and she said I slept through the whole storm and it woke up my entire family 🙃😂 By the way, I loved your nails and it looked great on you! 😍
Outside of turning my hearing aids off I can also stream music or audiobooks to them and I sure like cranking that up when I just can't be bothered with other folks.
Shouldn't your family be signing at the table anyways so you don't get left out? I get that for them, it's not their first language, but that just seems like pure laziness to me. I'm not trying to say this as hate, just constructive criticism about inclusion. You know, dinner table syndrome.
You guys are so funny I loved this video! I have a question about the phone though. What about situations where you have to call companies say like changing your car insurance? Do you use a deaf service to help with this? I can't wait to go swimming and look out for deaf people underwater 😂
Might be a stupid question but what do you do if you need to ring the emergency services? Would you just not call an ambulance or hope someone turns up if you can't communicate?
Now looking at this video, and have one question. When you hold your phone, do you only talk with one hand, and without phone (cam with friend) sign language with both hands? I'm hearing, but always wanted to learn sign language. Excuse me if this was stupid questions. Very good channel, just started to subscribe 😀👍
I find it hard to get any food down with deaf people/signers. Maybe its because mouthing is essential to Swedish Sign Language? Or you can’t get a break long enough to put the food in your mouth cause you either have your eyes on the convo or your hands are busy signing?
Are you using BSL ? I know asl and qsl and Native American sign but some of the signs you used are different than what I know so was curious. For phone calls I will use text to to speech. I am deaf bur vocal and do read lips.
Hi umm HOH person here. Anyone else that's HOH have you ever forgotten that other people can hear you when you cant hear anything. Like, they'll be signaling to me and I'll signal something back and they're confused and tell me I can speak. It just feels weird to speak when you cant hear anything. Is anyone else like this or is it just me?
Not just you cuz whenever i take my cochlear implants off and my sister is doing sign language to talk to me i end up doing signs as well and shes like "You do know you can talk-" 💀
The fact that so much requires use of voice phone is very frustrating. I find everything gets way harder because I can’t use it. The inaccessability isnt a perk of not understanding voice languages. Im not deaf, but hard of hearing and got chronic brain fatigue that causes issues like me being Nonverbal and not being able to deschifer speech anymore.
Some of these things makes it a real shame that hearing people don't use manual communication beyond a few gestures. It must be great to be able to communicate easily underwater, at loud places, at a distance and through windows
Sign languages are pretty visible. How to avoid people listening in on your convo if they know your sign language? It happens when you least expect it :-P Like suddenly you realize there’s one out of 200 people in a crowd or on the subway, that knows enough to get what you’re talking about.
Why schools don't teach hearing students some sing language? It would be helpfull not only to comunicate with deaf people! I new two hearing guys who actually used basic Polish Sign Language to communicate if they didn't wanted to be understood :-)

I’m new to this channel and a total dummy when it comes to sign language, I really want to learn tho! Does anyone know a course or website I should check out? Also, (yes this is me being ignorant) is there a lot of difference between BSL and a different language sign language?
One notable difference you will see is that BSL uses a 2 handed manual alphabet whereas ASL uses a one handed manual alphabet. Both ASL and BSL however have the same potential for expressing subtle, technical and complex meanings as do spoken languages.
