This Godless Endeavor (with lyrics)

I must confess here that I am a huge fan of Nevermore ..
Its musicianship combined with thoughtful and provocative lyrics ..
Is possibly beyond compare, even to this very present ..
Having said all this ..
Does not mean I agree in large part with the band philosophy ..
Especially in part with the lyrical themes ..
Largely contributed via Dane ..
Though brilliant poet and wordsmith he was ..
In taking this particular composition, TGE ..
It is profound in thought ..
I wish I had an opportunity to sit down with Dane ..
And discuss it honestly ..
That will never happen; unfortunately ..
Dane posits, "Godless are we" ..
Perhaps we are ..
What is this Godless Endeavor?
It is not exactly a mystery to some ..

Dane, before TOC was released ..
Quipped that TGE (album) was not his favorite work ..
Though the title track certainly was to date ..
5 years from TGE, TOC honestly begins to challenge some actual thought ..
Expressed in TGE ..
Why I am endeavoring to produce lyric videos for the entire TOC effort ..
There is certainly less anger here, reflecting 5 years later ..
Even Loomis' solos are less angry and more -- thoughtful ..
And do keep in mind ..
ALL the guitar work -- is Loomis ..
I would say the majority of the music -- is Loomis ..
We have truly lost a [music] giant in Dane ..
