    Best thing to use to CLEAN Connectors is , "EXTRA HOLD HAIRSPRAY" Spray so it coats really heavy and nice, let it dry then do it again and let it dry Good as new. Saw that don't on his other videos !
    It Coats really nice and is still conductive and protects connections, especially Motherboards. very nice to have when cleaning connectors or motherboards with a nice protective thick coat ..

    Definitely best to put the crimp into the crimpers then push the wire in before crimping!

    You mention the "key" being in the original connector but how do you key the new connector?

    • @PinBallReviewerRepairs

      You can get keys for connectors I got some on Marco Specialties website.
      I might experiment with methods perhads putting a toothpick in and breaking it off it might fall out though.
      With the plastic keys I got from Marco they click in similar to a pin but it blocks the opening so that you have to connect it to the on board pin that is also cut on the board.
      I love keys but hate pins that have for example 2, 4 pin connnectors that do not have a key.
      I usually take photos of where connectors are originally.
      Although do not always go by how things were plugged in example would be the Mars light on The Getaway High-Speed II was not working and found out the prior owner had it plugged into the wrong connector on the board.
      I looked at the manual to see why it was not working and bam it was in the wrong connector.
      I put it in the right one and it works great.
      I was dreading that I might have to replace the motor though like I did in my High-Speed classic.

    do you cut off old pin or remove it off wire?

    • @PinBallReviewerRepairs
      @PinBallReviewerRepairs 7 років тому

      Fastest way is just to cut the old pin off and strip new wire.
      Taking off a pin could take some of the conductors with it so just cut the wire is best.

    What is the maker/model of that extraction tool (the flat one you pushed into the back of the housing)

    • @bigdog8008
      @bigdog8008 4 роки тому

      Molex 11-03-0016 or Waldom W-HT-1884

      The Molex extractors are EXPENSIVE. Best bet is to just push the tang in from the access hole in side of connector using a cheap jeweler's screwdriver and then pull wire from the back.

    I have no experience with this so I'm really just asking here. Would it be practical to label the wires (sticker, marker + tape, etc) with the number they're in?
    The picture idea sounds like it works fine but maybe for someone who doesn't a great quality camera or if you get a bad camera angle for red/white stripe type wires?
    Just throwing the idea out there!

    // "TEST ROM chip" when you don't use the driver board to test the MPU system 3 or 4 board. Where would the TEST ROM chip go at which IC socket to test the MPU system 3 or 4 when not connecting the System 3 or 4 driver board?

    I used to crimp pins manually as well but I bought one of these automatic crimpers and I'll never go back to manual pinning. :)
    If you want to get one they are only about $23.00 on amazon. :)
    Here is the link to the one I bought off of Amazon: smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OMM4YUY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    my STtng keeps resetting itself.help.

    • @PinBallReviewerRepairs
      @PinBallReviewerRepairs 7 років тому

      I know this is a year old comment but a pin that is resetting is mot likely a drop in voltage.
      Replace the bridge rectifiers on all boards and replace any big caps or at least the power supply caps.

      It's actually Bally
      Think Sally but replace the S with a B.

    You're pronouncing Bally incorrectly.

    That has to be the cheapest most ineffective crimper ever. Not to mention why wouldnt you solder the wires to the pin? Far superior to a crimp...
