I just removed my wallpaper in the blink of an eye. I sprayed "Scrubbing Bubbles" bathroom cleaner on it, it did not drip and soaked into the paper. The first layer came off almost immediately and I sprayed again the brown layer underneath and then it came off almost immediately. Easy peasy!!!!
OK after watching about 10 different videos on removing wallpaper yours was the most fun. I do think however that scoring the wallpaper to get the solution To soak in is really a must. I tried pulling my wallpaper off dry and it came off in little tiny pieces. Thank you for having sense of humor and an entertaining video.
Thank you Alex, I had never tried to remove wallpaper before and I watched a few videos here and your tip with the fabric softener was brilliant. I live in Las Vegas and the softener really helped keep things wet. Took a 8 hour job and turned it into a 3. And yes it did smell good and the home owner gave me a $120 tip because he was so happy with the job. I guess I owe you lunch the next time you're in Vegas 😘
Doing wallpaper in kitchen bought that round thing for wallpaper removal. You are 100% right doesn’t do anything. Except marks up the wall. Appreciate your video. Definitely a fan. Thanks for sharing BTW. Great moves. ❤
After quickly assessing other video titles , I knew I could not go wrong with a female instructor. Sorry, that was so sexist..but I knew a woman would find a reliable, quick, no hassle method. Thank you... soooo entertaining. Have you filmed tutorials before? I’m definitely doing it myself.
After your video, we bought the supplies, switched on the fun, & lucky for us… peeling off the 14 yo painted-over wallpaper was easy, fast & so gratifying! Next video, how to properly patch & texturize bathroom walls. 👍🏼
You seem to be as in Greek mythology presiding over song and poetry and the arts and sciences the Greek Muse of home-remodeling. ... a source of inspiration especially : a guiding genius.
Love the video and moves! Worked like a charm for the old duck wall paper I had to remove and now onto the other two duckie bathrooms. Thank you so much Alex!
all i can say is thanku......all the men said do this do that, oh its gonna be tough, oh u should get a professional.......then i came across u... thank u for being honest and i can begin in my little bungalow....xx
Thank you for the super helpful (and funny) video! We were close to hiring someone because of the horror stories I heard about wallpaper removal but after seeing this video we gave it a try. The technique worked great and the process was so much less painful than I was expecting! :)
Excellent !! This whole process is simple and effective. Wish I knew this earlier!! I told my kids that they had to do the wobble dance else it won’t work 😂 Thank you Alex !!
protip: if you dont have a pressure sprayer, use a paint roller and paint tray from the dollar store to save a few bucks. Might be a bit more messy but it will get the job done just as well!
Same Idea just a slightly different technique. I use a 1-gallon garden sprayer filled with hot water and a squirt of liquid dish soap. The soap breaks the surface tension of the water allowing it to soak in faster. Using a hand sprayer like you did and my hand began to cramp up after about 5 minutes of spraying.. Guess Im just a weakling! Thanks for sharing!
But after you peel off that last layer you are left with sticky gooey residue. What do you do with that? I’m currently scrubbing the heck out of the wall and scraping at it with a stiff chisel tool lmao. This is too much work 😫
It is a lot of work! Luckily most of the stickiness comes off on its own with the method. But a little scrubbing, as you're doing, helps with the rest! good luck!!
Man i'm about to do some wallpaper stripping on a pretty big house and didn't know where to start, i thought i needed all those chemicals and tools. Looks like i was really over thinking it. Thank you for these tips.
Thank You! I have heard all the horror stories and seen all the stuff at the store. This looks so much easier than imagined. Looking forward to starting this next new project. Any particular brand of fabric softener? Thanks again.
Great video. Thanks! Some people suggest a vinegar combo. Have you ever tried that before trying the fabric softener potion? Wondering if you prefer one to the other?
Great video!!! I have watched many and was hesitant about trying to do this myself but now I am totally going to do it!!! You are awesome. I loved this video. Very informative and entertaining.
hey! Thanks so much for the video ! Just wondering what to do with the glue underneath ? I’ve tried peeling off the yellow layer but there’s still glue underneath
Spray it with wallpaper stripper 4$ or warm water and vinegar. Let it soak in and than scrape off the old glue and wash with a sponge and bucket of warm water.
Too funny and whats crazy is first time removing so I watched your video. Wall paper im removing has 2 layers of paper. And what was the first layer? The exact same paper you removed 🤣
Very Nice , I will attempt to do this - I will need to leave the wobble off - I do not have the proper equipment. Your method looks effective and pretty straight forward -- I will be back for more - Great Post - Thank You !
Hi there, thanks for sharing this video, do you put 3/4 hot water into 1/4 Fabric softener, right. I used cold water mix with softener, it works, but not work well like you showed in the video, thank you.
You are so much better than I am at the Wedding Dance... But I am gonna do this and this is the FIRST video regarding this subject that came up. I am saving this and I'm gonna do it just like you said... Sah-weet! Thank you! #trailer #makeotbetter #portlandmetroarea
HI Alex, was this done on drywall or brick? We have just bought a house with drywall and the wallpaper is about 30 years old so it's been stuck on for absolute ages. Wondering if this technique will work just as well for that? Thanks!
this is so fun to watch, I am gonna subscribe... hehehe, love that dance... and I actually did not know that the brown layer was a glue layer. next week I am gonna do this with my home
Yep it's that easy if using paper based top layers. If it's a supreme paper with a vinyl/washable top layer you're definitely going to need to orbital score.
Never write on a wall with a felt tip pen. It can go thru to sheet rock then come back thru new paper. Also hers was easy because walks were primed. That is very unusual. Don't expect your results to be anything like hers
I didn’t know how to peel the last layer. I remember hiring a bunch of kids to help me 😂😂 after messing up everything. Now am like damn! It was that easy???
I'm living for this energy right now
yay! glad you're here!! Thank you
Right lol I just seen your wall post and we're both on the same page
Wow, what a great job the wallpaper guy did, that’s so easy to take down, Wobble
Omg thank you!!! I had issue removing and was about to give up. Then I saw your comment. I happened to have unused scrubbing bubbles 😭
Brooooo a year later and I’m so happy you posted this, thanks man🤝
Please where do you get the scruble bubble n how much
It didn’t work for me 😢
@@akinyemiakinbodundefrankli7890. I used hot water in an electric sprayer. Worked just fine.
Was not expecting so much ENERGY when I was looking for videos on how to remove wallpaper 😂 You are awesome and have a great sense of humor!
haha yay! Glad you liked it !!

This video was everything I needed today. I just moved into a house where the owners were heavy smokers for 40 years and this wallpaper needs to go!
Awesome awesome funny and informative video
Omg! I had to watch this multiple times just to see how to take wallpaper off. All I could do is just watch you. You are amazing. 👏 👏
Thank you so much!!
Doing wallpaper in kitchen bought that round thing for wallpaper removal. You are 100% right doesn’t do anything. Except marks up the wall. Appreciate your video. Definitely a fan. Thanks for sharing BTW. Great moves. ❤
You got me at “ And I am not a professional” 😂 that is why I am watching your video! Never saw a remodeling video so fun! 🎶🎶🎶
Love your personality. Makes watching an otherwise boring video bearable.
Yay, thank you!
Dude! My mom put this wall paper up in the 1990s! 😂 she put in burgundy Formica counters and she LOVED the makeover 😂
You need a TV show - too much fun. And informative. 🎉
She has the personality and talent to do a show. I'd watch it.
Love your sense of humor! - running to the store now to get my fabric softener.
I literally LOVE YOU!!! i was dreading removing 40 yr old wallpaper and you made it look fun and easy---THANK YOU
Aww so glad you found it helpful! Thank you!!

So fun & funny! Thank you for adding humor to the job! And writing the steps on the dang wallpaper is genius.

Thoroughly entertaining. Thank you ma’am 🤣
I don't even have wallpaper, why did I just watch this at 2:30am?
I don't normally comment but you rock with the sense of humor
thank you so much!

yay so happy to hear it worked for you!! and thanks for watching
Do you use hot washer or cold water for it? Out of curiosity.
Excellent !! This whole process is simple and effective. Wish I knew this earlier!! I told my kids that they had to do the wobble dance else it won’t work 😂
Thank you Alex !!
lol it's the key! You're welcome... glad you found it helpful
protip: if you dont have a pressure sprayer, use a paint roller and paint tray from the dollar store to save a few bucks. Might be a bit more messy but it will get the job done just as well!
and use a plastic scraper rather than a metal one to avoid scratching your wall if you're hoping to not have to repaint said wall
Same Idea just a slightly different technique. I use a 1-gallon garden sprayer filled with hot water and a squirt of liquid dish soap. Thanks for saving me a bunch of money, time, energy and storage space 💕
The wobbling just made the video better😂 will definitely try this 👍 thanks!
OMG - I have wallpaper so similar in the master bdrm of our newly purchased home. I'm attacking it tomorrow. Thanks for the motivation!
Hahahahaa I love your moves!!! And the work you've done of course
Loved this! I'm just wondering if it will come off just as well with only water? 🤔 Has anyone used just water?
If it's warm and not super stuck on there... probably
Your energy is 10/10

It was great....How do you reach the wallpaper on the ceiling by the steps?
Good video, what was it about?
Such an underrated channel!!

Btw, the editing was very good on this video. Kudos to you.
Thanks!

haha thank you so much!
What do you do with vinyl coated wall paper. The "first layer" doesn't just peel off with a scraper...
Your video might say "Most Replayed" at 2:17 because of me. sorry.
I hope the wallpaper in my home would be this easy to remove, thank you for the video!!
Hi there, thanks for sharing this video, do you put 3/4 hot water into 1/4 Fabric softener, right. I used cold water mix with softener, it works, but not work well like you showed in the video, thank you.
Make sure to test the electrical before beginning to make certain the areas in the electrical box were marked properly. 🤙
I’m going to ‘re-paper’ with an assortment of old, unique book pages…so do I need to remove that bottom layer?? 🤔 TY
Great job 😆.. I was looking for a wall paper removal instruction videos then you come up from haven 😆
Awesome! Thank you!
Tried this and it got the wallpaper film right on off . Amazing information
Any ideas Alex for a wallpaper that is not very absorbent on the top layer? It seems to repel water....Bill
You are so much better than I am at the Wedding Dance... But I am gonna do this and this is the FIRST video regarding this subject that came up. I am saving this and I'm gonna do it just like you said... Sah-weet! Thank you! #trailer #makeotbetter #portlandmetroarea

Loved the video 😂 But what I’m wondering is why your wallpaper is coming off in sheets and mine is coming off in crumbs 🥴🥴😭
Oh no! It was probably not applied properly. Did you try the fabric softener trick? It helps for sure...
@@AlexWehrley I did... I may try next time with a scorer and warm water
Tried this today and it was super easy! Thanks for this video!!
You're so welcome!
Best wallpaper video yet. Thanks.
Hahahaha...."the previous homeowner should have numbered the box correctly". There was a song in the 60's called "To dream the impossible dream".

She's funny this little one. Put me in a good mood on this grey UK day.
Love the extra bonus entertainment mixed in with the informative info! Get it girl. Now it’s time for me to rip down my wallpaper.
That shadow doesn’t lie 🎉
I didn’t know how to peel the last layer. I remember hiring a bunch of kids to help me 😂😂 after messing up everything. Now am like damn! It was that easy???
By the way, the flow and how you did it was lit 🔥
Haha yup! Truly can be that easy
I found water/vinegar soak works amazing.
