I think we just did some research while we were there. We took the local bus for about 1-2 hours out there (under 5 dollars total) then got a taxi to take us to the base of mountain) I would say all up for Bus and taxi transfer under $20 for both of us.
I think in general there arent many tourist in Colombia yet because of historical fears of security. We definitely saw more local tourist than foreign tourist.
Cant be out of shape with that job that's for sure. Especially since there is so much merchandise at the top and drinks, so those would have to be carried up frequently.
Would have been much better without the "music" maddeningly repeating the same thing every 9 seconds throughout. And yes, I know, I could mute my speakers, but there was a little real audio which I then would have missed. Try including the real ambient sounds -- it will be a improvement.
When we got done with the last flight of stairs we were on all fours crawling, out of breath. And here comes this old guy with a giant pack of water bottles on his shoulder nonchalantly walking by past as us like it was nothing lol
