I hated when players on my team would put pucks in the net before the game. I hate having pucks in my net even if it’s not in game yet. Just a mental thing goalies fucking hate it
Fleury seems like he has an awareness tenfold higher than most every other goaltender donning the camera in this video. The way he is playing with them and being wild, but still more than on point speaks so much to just how natural he is in there. The funniest keep in game, and arguably the best to go along with it.

This is EXCELLENT practice for the keepers. Goaltending is a lot like fighting, you have to react near instantly to whatever the other guy is doing. Most people in a fight get caught off guard because they don't see what's coming, be it a feint or a flinch. If you still flinch every time a puck or a punch comes at your face, you're gonna get caught. The fact that everyone is head hunting means you're gonna get MUCH more used to pucks coming straight at your head and you'll learn to keep your eyes open for everything and trust your mask. The one's that are taking pucks to the face near nonstop are going to benefit sooo much from this.

6:43 who else flinched? i did and i get hit in the head multiple times in the mask at practice and even though im 10 it is a practice with adults and kids so we only use black pucks

Why do they put black paint on face?
The color black reflects much less light than your natural skin tone. They put it on the cheek bones and under the eyes when playing outside so that the sun beaming down on their faces doesn't reflect up into their eyes. The reason the sun is so bright to us normally is because of the reflection up from below, as we've naturally evolved a way to shade from direct sunlight from above. Your eyes are sunk in further than your browline so that the sun doesn't blind you whenever the sun is high in the sky, the times when the sun is brightest.
