The star, John Gallaudet, would later play Judge Penner in 20 cases of the Perry Mason TV series from 1961-1966.

Thanks...for some reason I just love facts like this, and I always have fun when actors like that pop up in movies and I recognize them from TV shows. (and there is good old IMDB to confer with LOL). I'm watching this tonight!

He also played a villain in a 1940's serial, which I can't find at the moment. And he was a villain again in 'Lost City Of the Jungle'.

Pretty good flick, even though the plot is a bit much, but an enjoyable watch nonetheless. Good for clothes and decor, too. I’m wondering who the band was in the opening scene. Thanks, PF. :)

The only 'logical' explanation would be that the mother was married first to Tony's father, then to Drake, and was then thinking of marrying David Corning. If she'd married me in the first place, there wouldn't be this confusion now.

Even if life was not precisely this way in 1937, the movies are still great to watch. It sounds like the radio personality was trying to be another Walter Winchell?

2:20--There was a fictional ABC radio network in this movie, just 6 years before a real ABC radio network was formed from a forced sale of NBC's Blue network.
16:24--Did someone say "Daily Planet"? If so, then this was just before the Superman comic books came out. And that reporter was in the office of David Corning, played by the previously mentioned John Hamilton. Now who knew then that John Hamilton would go from playing someone who got questioned by a "Daily Planet" reporter to playing a "Daily Planet" editor on TV?

That is the director's fault.. A guy on the phone says, "where are you?'..and one second later says, "okay" and hangs up. Someone says, "where is she"..and says,"1477 Mulberry Lame, apartment 427-D"..(my example). And,if someone asks for a nickel for the phone, they reach in a pocket and put a coin in a guy's hand without looking at the coins in their hand.
I always have to look at the coins in my hand, pick one out and hand it to the person. It''s called REALITY.. And they take TWO SECONDS to write something that really would take a minute to scribble it...REALITY..
