The oldest version is sold with 5Nm, whereas the torque of the newest is supposed to be 10Nm (according to the merchand site). Did you feel the new version has more torque ? It could be one + for the newest version, despite it also has contras as you explained.

This is a low torque tool. To be used on fasterners driving into plastic or soft metal. Not for wood/steel.
