Not only that but it can catch onto obstacles. They truly put thought into the web swinging in this game, which they no longer do in the new games..
Best spidey game I 've ever played. Graphics at that times were outstanding and web swinging was so fluid and realistics. I loved the way I can climb my own webbing while am swinging through NYC. Game mechanics are really nice also playing as Venom is just a icing on the cake. Really nice game.
He actually died in both. Except in the original universe, when he died, the "Spider" took over, and he bit the throat out of Morlun, the guy who beat the crap out of him. In the Ultimate universe, he sacrificed himself (accidentally) by crushing the Green Goblin with a truck. The truck exploded and he flew like 30 feet, landed, said some things to his aunt, and died.

They could remaster it for newer consoles though i think they should do that. It would be awesome to be able to play it with better graphics and better controls. It's not like they can't do it. My point is that Spider-Man is most well known as using web-shooters. Sure there's some comics and stories out there where they are organic, but those stories aren't what inspired ppvsonicspy's comment. It was the movies (and the movies pretty much didn't base the idea of organic web on some of the comics).

Well, first off it makes more sense not to have organic webs because if he really had it wouldn't been coming out of his hands O.o And there also needs to be a balance in his powers, not too strong but enough to carry his job. Spider-man was created in order for normal people to put themselfs in Parker's shoes, him being a normal guy (or teenager in the ultimate universe). So giving him too much powers would be the bad choice, thus being harder to relate to him. Hope it helps.
Technically Arkham City wasn't a comic book adaptation because the storyline was written exclusively for the game. Going by that logic, Ultimate Spiderman would win by default.
Actually ultimate spider-man does die in the comics defending Mary Jane and Aunt May from a bunch of villains who found out he was spider-man. He was replaced by african american/hispanic spider-man: Miles Morales.
Again, read the whole comment. I said it affected his wrists because it surged when it began to take affect, then it slowly spread to other areas of his body. The Human body is symmetrical. In evolution whatever happens to one side happens to the other, and since evolution at it's core is DNA changing, all that happens to Parker is rapid evolution. That's how it could possibly affect both wrists-the brain gives messages to replicate it on the other side.
This is a pretty cool game. I prefer Spiderman for PS1, but this one was fine too. It reminded me of the Spiderman CG animated series from MTV, I really liked that show.
Every1 just went off the board here, just because in the Sam Raimi movies he had organic webs. It's a fictional world, a story, nothing else. I fully 100%- I'm sick of seeing heroes like Batman or Ironman who rely on technology. There's something really charming about the old notion of a superhero, an ordinary citizen blessed through sheer circumstance with incredible powers. They don't need to be a genius or even want to be a superhero. But now that they have them it's their responsibility. I can never understand why people praise the web shooters so much- yes they're canon but they're entirely redundant if Spiderman has SUPERPOWERS.

It's actually a very fun game, with a complex story line. There are a lot of "Hero" Genre games out there and this is a diamond in the rough.
It's based off of the ultimate spiderman comics. That's why there are outlines, cartoon effects, and comic book pages styles in scene breaks.

Well, first off it makes more sense not to have organic webs because if he really had it wouldn't been coming out of his hands O.o And there also needs to be a balance in his powers, not too strong but enough to carry his job. Spider-man was created in order for normal people to put themselfs in Parker's shoes, him being a normal guy (or teenager in the ultimate universe). So giving him too much powers would be the bad choice, thus being harder to relate to him. Hope it helps.

Technically Arkham City wasn't a comic book adaptation because the storyline was written exclusively for the game. Going by that logic, Ultimate Spiderman would win by default.
Actually ultimate spider-man does die in the comics defending Mary Jane and Aunt May from a bunch of villains who found out he was spider-man. He was replaced by african american/hispanic spider-man: Miles Morales.

Again, read the whole comment. I said it affected his wrists because it surged when it began to take affect, then it slowly spread to other areas of his body. The Human body is symmetrical. In evolution whatever happens to one side happens to the other, and since evolution at it's core is DNA changing, all that happens to Parker is rapid evolution. That's how it could possibly affect both wrists-the brain gives messages to replicate it on the other side.
One of the best games of all time for sure they should make another GOOD spiderman game

This is a pretty cool game. I prefer Spiderman for PS1, but this one was fine too. It reminded me of the Spiderman CG animated series from MTV, I really liked that show.

Every1 just went off the board here, just because in the Sam Raimi movies he had organic webs. It's a fictional world, a story, nothing else. And lemme end the crap that if he uses web shooters that means every1 can web swing, when the spider bit him he obtained and incredibile agility and sense, not even mentioning that his eyes were also cured. I just can't believe this started because in the movies there was artistic licence -.-

Spectacular wasn't based off of ultimate. It was just another universe that focused on Pete's high school life.

i remember renting this game from blockbuster. i beat it in a week. i like the comic book style that they used. i just wish it was a longer game

@Mr00001jon Yes he can. It's in a comic set right before this game. I can't recall exactly which villain (maybe Lizard), but he's got a shred of costume in his mouth, and the next page is spidey swinging away with his butt showing :D
agreed, but it wasnt the first spiderman game to do it, Spiderman 2 on the PS2 was, which is my favourite of the franchise, im hoping the new game, amazing spiderman lives up to the hype

Honestly, the First Boss Fight(Venom)/Credits has the Best Theme.

I fully 100%- I'm sick of seeing heroes like Batman or Ironman who rely on technology. There's something really charming about the old notion of a superhero, an ordinary citizen blessed through sheer circumstance with incredible powers. They don't need to be a genius or even want to be a superhero. But now that they have them it's their responsibility. I can never understand why people praise the web shooters so much- yes they're canon but they're entirely redundant if Spiderman has SUPERPOWERS.
I KNOW what I'm talking about. I have this game for PC. I got it alongside Xbox when it first came out, and there was no Beenox logo in sight 'till now.
