LOVE mortadella. It is not hard to find here in the states at least my state. I prefer the mortadella with pistachio then the mortadella pepper one.

That product's name was given per Italian city of Bologna, where real Mortadella comes from !!
American food culture is mainly distorted European one , which came to Americas with Eu settlers.
I didn't know anything about Mortadella until recently trying at my deli; now I cut a cold slice into ribbons to go in my salad. It's delicious. My salads usually end up being: one ribboned slice of Mortadella, mixed greens, 7/8 cucumber slices, 3/4 sliced vine grape tomatoes, 3/4 sliced/pitted castelvetrano olives, caesar dressing and a little shaved pecorino romanno cheese. 🥗

I'm Italian. We always had a big waxed paper package of Capicola in the refrigerator when I was a kid. It was rather dark and spicy, with large veins of fat running through the meat. The older Italians in our family loved it! ha ha
I forgot all about it until I heard it mentioned in The Sopranos! I think they called it "gaba-gool". It had to be the same stuff.
American bologna cannot hold a candle to Mortadella. There is no comparison!

Oscar Myer bologna is based on German Austrian Alsatian bologna, which is milder than the Italian variety.
I am already a fan of the other italian cold cuts like prosciutto and the rest of the gaba gu. I've gotta try this one too.

@@boohere2 Yep-a classic! I think the big issue with people who don’t like it is the texture. But you kind of mitigate that if you slice it super thin.

Well you can’t compare American made food products which are made from poisonous chemicals,called fake foods. To European or middle eastern real foods. So Bologna, sausages and other cold cuts are the prime examples.
