I was there. Post-Syracuse U. graduation trip to California. Stumbled on this festival by pure chance on "New Wave Day" while making our way back to LA from Palm Springs...and witnessed some amazing music.
We were there. Knew their music but none of us had ever seen them before. Even with some serious competition on that huge stage that weekend, they stood out. The Real Deal.
Chrissy & the band never failed to deliver great performances on stage, and, as is the case with only the best bands, the live version of every song surpassed the studio version!
My mom was there for the concert but I’m glad she went there, and I wish I could go back in time and witness of seeing this concert! Back then the concert tickets there for the weekend are $25
omg, I’ve watched this video at least 20 times since first discovering it a week ago. The performance, the energy…I can’t get it out of my head! …I always look forward to the part where Chrissy screams just before the lead guitar part…no words can describe. I’ve only found three songs from this concert on Yt, but there must be more video footage of the rest of their set. Anyone? ❤

Slowly getting the concert together. This is the 3rd song I've seen from it. A lot of the spectators seem to not know how to handle this. Then again, probably never heard them before.
Interesting. Judging by the lipstick they would have already played ‘Elsie’ - if the audience is freaking over this song id like to see how they reacted to Elsie.
The singer reminds me of the pissed-off waitress in the film "Waiting", that wonderful unpredictable psycho energy that scares the shit out of the straights...
James Joseph I'm the same age as Angus and although it's been reported that Chrissy was born in '59, I have my suspicions that she's actually older than both of us. Just by going from some of the yarns in her autobiography.
@@jamesjoseph6568 For one example, she said she was assaulted at a Valentines gig after dropping out of high school. They split up permanently in 1970, which would have made Chrissy eleven years old. Things just don't add up if she was born in '59.

Elizabeth Israelle Just lipstick applied to represent self mutilation on the previous track "Elsie". Elsie was a 70 year old drug addicted, alcoholic, suicidal neighbour, when she lived near Chrissy in Womerah Ave. Darlinghurst, Sydney.
Its part of the performance she used to do in another song - Elsie - where she used to draw all over herself with a lipstick. It aint blood. Elsie is a song about a disturbed girl. If you see her in a live performance and shes got that on her it means they already played Elsie.
