You have a very special touch for playing the guitar Also your techniques are very good, you are a great musician.Thank you for your teaching about THE Beatles God bless you
Lennon plays this in the winter in London on top of rooftop. It was probably like 20 degrees. That’s the version they put on the album too. World class, once in a lifetime musicians.
Nice riff. Another one of the songs written with the Travis picking but this one mutated in order to be played with the plectrum. l always wondered what effect was John using at 2:40 because it sounds so heavily distorted in the record; it never occurred to me that he had just switch to the neck pickup.
Sam. You'd think it was John himself Lick for lick. Tone perfect. Love it every time You never seice to amaze the hell out of me. Your the man Sam. Untouchable for perfection 👍👍🎸
Sure, you have the fur coat, but now you need to play on your rooftop in freezing weather to get the true experience! Best musical performance below freezing in history?
Wait, so did John use an overdrive pedal during the rooftop concert, or did you not want to disturb your neighbors with how loud an overdriven Fender amp has to be?
Do you know if it was John or Paul who came up with this guitar part, because (it was one performance) I remember seeing Paul play John's part live and he usually does that for songs he plays guitar on, such as Paperback Writer
It was John's idea. He used it again in "I Know" from the Mind Games album. Yes, Paul's guitarists reproduce it all the time, though not as good as John, in my opinion.
@@sampopkinI think he was inspired by Keith Richard’s open tuning that he had just witnessed during the Rock n Roll Circus that had happened a few weeks prior. He also uses it on I Dig A Pony.
My fret hand is cramping just watching🤣👍❤
Lennon may be my favorite guitarist of all time, he always played exactly what the song needed him to
Both John and George were great and playing exactly what was needed. ❤
John was kinda the Ringo of guitar
That overdriven clean tone is absolutely immaculate. I might have to cop that tone sometime soon. This was a great listen, nice work!
All of the minor flubs are reproduced perfectly! 2:41
I love Epiphone Casino's sound ❤️
That casino sounds reallyyyy goood, dream guitsr

Cheers
The tone is so spot on!
Fun one to play once you get the hang of it.
Sam,
I've got a feeling this is simply magic!
God bless The Beatles and Sam!
Gotta be my favourite from the rooftop. Made even better with this cover. Love your work!
Great tone Sam!
Rooftop coat. nice touch.
Cool song, but it hurts a lot to play this part 0:01 for a long time😂Good job again Sam!

Thats awesome❤
Excellent cover, really enjoyed listening and watching...
Just got an Es 335 and Lennon guitar strap for Xmas, thanks for inspiring me to get this far in guitar sam

Hey, you even replicated Johns flub at 2:43. You can see Paul chuckle at him about this on the rooftop concert. 😆
cool
Sounds great! Always found this tricky to play because my pinky gets tired
same problem here 😢
Sorry, it only counts if you're outside in the cold and damp several stories up... Ha, great cover for a very underrated song.
Hello Sam! Great cover!! My favorite from let it be!! And yours? Which is your favorite from let it be?
Dig A Pony :)
Can you cover George's isolated guitar from Now and Then next time?
The tone is perfect.
“Oh my soul…so hard”
That riff has always been so hard as a guy with little hands
me’ hands are getting cold!

Awesome cover! Just curious whatever happened to the Bigsby you had installed on your casino?
Bigsby is still on! This is isolated from my cover last year before modding

John did not use pedals, no. I just was able to get the tone closer by using pedals than cranking my amp

John can be seen playing this chord shape/progression on the first day of Get Back sessions. Jan 2 1969

@ that’s interesting. John doesn’t use open tuning here, but he does use the same intervals and shape as the Richards thing!
tasty
This rhythm guitar sounds more like a lead guitar with 3 chords
I think you mean 3 or more chords
What a stretch
Ah, that made in China epiphone sound.lol
I’m pretty sure Sam’s is a USA model, as far as I know they don’t do the Chinese Casinos in Royal Tan
Mine is a USA Gibson factory
