    Having been Vegan for over 1 year now I cna admit that its not as easy to nail as an omnivorous diet, but more than doable and the health and ethical benefits far outweigh the few moments of mouth pleasure you'd get from animal foods. You can make food taste good on a vegan diet and with a bit of planning you can get all the nutrition you want, highly encourage anyone to try

But I saw this concept of why a lot of Buddhists are vegetarian or vegan “do the least amount of harm” so now I feel even more strongly to only stick to vegan foods

    Vegan 7 years now, vegetarian 2 before that. Living a very active lifestyle and train BJJ 2-3x a day. For me it works really well, on all levels. Of course I miss the convenience of being able to eat anything and anytime. However, for me, knowing I cause no harm to animals and just filling my body with vegetables is amazing. Just makes me feel healthy and good. I'm from Sweden which is the biggest country in Scandinavia and it is not like we eat more fish during winter. Probably less. Andrew, as a subscriber and weekly follower of your channel/podcast, your knowledge and insight is invaluable. You, David Sinclair, Steven Gundry, Daniel Amen and others have become my go-to team for optimum health and performance. However, I do have a very small push back regarding something I've not heard you say before. In this interview you made the commit about choosing meats that are "compatible with the continuation of the planet." What does the meat we choose have to do with continuation of our planet. I'm being serious. Keep up the great work.

      Hi, I am not Andrew, just reposting his insights so that they can reach a broader audience. The way I understand it, he was mentioning factory farming and how problematic their business model is. Not only do factory farms cause tremendous suffering to the animals but this way of raising animals and growing feed for them is not environmentally friendly. From other talks and interviews with Andrew, it is clear that he avoids factory farmed meat and animal products and instead consumes these foods from regenerative farming.

      @henri-julien Рік тому +2

      Actually - factory farming is often better for the environment (i.e. ghg emissions) when taking into account how much meat they produce. The catch 22 is that the more efficient the production, the worse the conditions for the animals. There’s a bypass to all this though that solves both problems, and that’s not consuming any animal products at all.

    I hate this madness we have concerning diets nowadays. Ex-vegans will talk about how deficient they were eating plant-based, ex carnivores will talk about how much better they feel eating plants. Its almost like when they made the changes they became more health conscious as a whole by cutting out processed foods and fixing their deficiencies rather than being saved by a diet. Humans have evolved to digest plant and animal matter and both combined can create a convenient, no supplement and healthy diet. How about instead of WFPB or Carnivore Keto wr just have Whole Food diet? The kind of diet we have thrived with for our entire history? Obviously some people work better cutting out certain foods but i dont think it needs to come to an extreme like we have now.

      @@naorovadia1161 I didn't say that in order to be vegan, you can't cause any animal suffering . I.e. I did not say '"animal suffering = not vegan". I said "breastfeeding > no animal suffering involved, thus vegan". Those are two very different statements.
      Sadly, there will always be animal suffering caused by humans (incidental deaths harvesting crops for example, as you pointed out), no matter how hard you try to avoid it. Going vegan is simply the best way to minimise animal suffering.
      So if I say that there is no animal suffering involved when someone breastfeeds their child (and if this statement is true), breastfeeding would automatically be a vegan action. It would not mean that something being vegan automatically makes that particular something void of animal suffering.
      If also feel I should add that the definition of suffering here would include killing animals, even if there was no pain, fear or other kind of distress involved.
