Zoro and Ussop
Zoro (Mackenyu) is damn perfect.
Luffy is endearing, I like usopp too.
They have Zoro down PERFECTLY!
i love all characters, including usop, sanji, and going marry, because if usop have long nose it will not look real, and if sanji have original eye brow it also make the character not real to, also going merry must look like real sheep/goat, because if somebody are not fans off one piece watch it, they will feel this series is really cool and absolutely look like a rookie pirate series.
I was really happy when usop's nose and sanji's eyebrows, were not included in the live action, and luckily the goat looks real, this is a real pirate👍🤣
Sanji and hawk
The original voice actors for the straw hats are dubbing the voices into japanese so when you guys get it hopefully the attack names will sound better for you guys!
guomuguomu pistou!!
@@tokyoviral9410 What the hentai meaning of piston??
if they gonna dub it I will watch the Japanese version hahahaha cuz i'm used to Japanese version for 20 years
I ain't even Japanese but I'll be watching it with Japanese dub cause that's how the characters sound for me xD
@@Ghazan_MonkeyKingLuffy I'm assuming its to press down on the other person
Thank you for interviewing me🙌🏻
thank you jin🎉
Good job, bro 👍
No offense to Japanese people, but I am glad One Piece is played by multiple other nation people, it suits the show very much.
You can thank Oda for that.
@@thedeadpoolwhochuckles.6852 Thanks Oda
@@Ares-hi2hw I'm literally oda you're welcome
Oda said if they did have nationality Luffy would be from Brazil . Soooo
Basically all Straw Hats besides Zoro are foreigners
I can't see it through the lens of someone Japanese, obviously, but I can say that I am a huge One Piece fan from America and I was terrified of what the live action would look like. But, now that the full trailer came out yesterday, and seeing interviews with the writer, and knowing Oda is heavily involved in it...I am very excited for it. I think it will be one of the best live action anime movies in recent times.
The actors are all very excited and dedicated to the roles as well, so their enthusiasm goes a long way in bringing the characters to life.
Apparently Oda demanded reshoots of certain scenes, and even did up certain storyboards of other scenes. He seems to be a part of the executive production team and was very heavily involved, which is where this one may be very different from others. The original artist is involved which keeps the NetFlix execs from meddling.
you r big fan😂
Oda alone chose them, based on where the character originally came from. And only Zoro is from Japan. Not because you don't want to choose all from your country. Oda sensei chose
Based on what real world nationality best describes them as per Oda's past statements, but yeah.
Besides, the crew does come from all over the world, so it shouldn't be a surprise that they look like it.
'I wanna see happiness punch in real life' lmao that man got his priorities straight
The feedback from JP is actually better than I expected. I just hope I don't get bamboozled like I was with LA Cowboy Bebop. The best thing about that adaptation was the trailer.
The difference is Eiichiro Oda actually had hella control over the project. No one from OG Cowboy Beebop had that kind of control over that train wreck
@@jazzycat8917
The truth of what you say has gotten so horrifically exaggerated that you're basically lying. His control was nothing in the long run. A studio is going to do what it wants, and they'll pressure him into being fine with it, or bribe him into it. It can be a lot easier to fudge the truth when a studio is paying for your kids to go to college or something along those lines.
@@sparxskywriter2589 Are you stupid? You think a studio needs to pay for Oda'a kids to go to college? Oda is filthy rich just to begin with but Japan does not even have the US fucked up system of going into debt for the rest of your life for education.
@@sparxskywriter2589 Why you gotta accuse someone of lying when your counterpoint is pure speculation?
Nah man, even the Cowboy Bebop trailer was bad 😂
Bit off topic but I think it's interesting how Japanese people think that Inaki is south east asian eventough he's latino, it would make sense why they think that because obviously in Asia they're more used to seeing south east asians. In contrast to that, many Americans often mistook Southeast asians as Latinos because they're more used to them in the US. Just wanna highlight that yes, we do look similar even though we live in different halves of the world 😂
Well to be fair, Native Americans are most closely related to East Asians because those are the people that traveled across the land bridge. So I can understand why people might think he's Asian, as they do look fairly similar. Also Southeast Asia has heavy influence from Spanish colonization so there's more connections there.
He does looks like he could be South East Asian. Many Malaysians and Indonesians have similar features as his like big eyes, long lashes, dark skin and curly hair.
I’m a Filipino and when i first saw Inaki on the trailer i genuinely thought he was Filipino lol. But nevertheless he played Luffy very well. I watched the Anime long time ago and I really imagined him as a darker shorter and super skinny southeast asian
The girl is gushing over Sanji and saying he's perfect for the role, all I can say is I 100% agree
Same 😂
Yeah he was super amazing
People mistake me for being Sanji I didn't know what One Piece was at the time XD
I think it'll be good because Oda-sensei picked the cast himself and approved all the scenes and dialogue.
I think the Nettflix One Piece Live action has done an excellent job with the look of the characters, the costume, and the props. All that is left is to see if the writing and story pacing is good. Guess we'll find out on August 31.
I'm sure they would be happy to know that the original Japanese VAs will also voice the live action Japanese Dub.
He said “pistol”, obviously Japanese say “pisutoru” which sounds different… that doesn’t mean it’s wrong, it’s the right pronunciation lol
robin😂👍
@@tokyoviral9410 yes ahahah
The comments about the Usop's nose and Sanji's eyebrows, I think it would look goofy having those anime features in live action 😂. It would look like they're cosplaying
When you adapt an original work, you don't destroy the original. It exists forever. You just give it a different outfit. Then you like or dislike the new outfit. But the original is still there, intact. So long live the original and long live the adaptations.🙂
Yeah true, dragon ball live action don't make the original anime look bad
It only make the "anime adaptation" name bad
Yeah but why make an adaptation if its going to suck anyway? Like. No one asked for one piece Live action and it makes look the original better, just because you CAN do it doesnt mean you SHOULD do it
@@kait6406 When Oda decided to create the One Piece universe, no one asked him. When the publishers decided to publish it, no one asked them to do so. They thought it was worth doing. When the anime was created, no one asked for it to be. Some people decided it was a good idea. It's the same with live action. Nobody asked but some people decided it was a good idea to do it. If it had taken public approval to create, One Piece would never have existed, in live action, in anime, in manga, and in Oda's imagination. In addition, in art, the same creation can be loved and hated. Just because it can be hated doesn't mean it shouldn't exist. But rather because it can be loved than it must exist. And especially because its creator likes to have created it. But hey, personally, I always see an adaptation as a window into a parallel universe where it is the original. Like the different Spidermans, they are different, they are the same, and it is for their differences and their commonalities that I love them. Ditto for One Piece in paper, anime or live action. 🙂
@@youtpfpm6097 The different universe BS only exist in america media. I don't think this LA would be bad, but there're adapations (Lord of the rings) and North American "adaptions" (Death Note, Cowboy Bebop...)
@@mray4784 Some (if not a majority) of the biggest hits in movie history are adaptations of novels and are American, like Jurassic Park or Planet of the Apes (french novel btw). The Lord of the Rings' movies are at least half American.
As for parallel universes, they have existed for a long time in literature and not only American (Alice in Wonderland for example. A British book from 1865). So it isn’t as simple as you think. 🙂
Now please do it with the new trailer.
yeah🔥🔥👍
Its low key hilarious and ironic that they were most upset about the pronunciation of gomu gomu no pistoru, BUT... those are originally English words. Its like if Americans say "hey, you're saying Kamakazi (kamikaze) wrong!"
I think there is a misunderstanding.
To Japanese people, the way of saying "gomu gomu" sounds kind of funny.
It sounds like he is deliberately joking around.
I don't think he has any bad intentions, he's just teasing me by saying gomu-gomu because the intonation sounds strange and funny. 😂
It’s weird that one comment thought luffy actor was south Asian. I guess they never really hear much about Latin Americans
Well that is true, Japanese people are more familiar with South Asians than Latinos. I personally think Inaki could pass for one.
Right I'm Mexican how the heck does he look Asian I can see as a Mexican are called Hispanic not Latino.
@@jakeupg9489 Not that far of a stretch actually, since Asia has a lot of different looking peoples and ethnic groups.
Also the Philippines' South Asian ethnics has probably also been mixed with Spanish and American heritage through colonization. Maybe not so different from the South American natives getting mixed with European (e.g Spanish and Portuguese) blood, especially since the indigenous people of the American continent have possible roots in Asia according to their DNA.
Just check out the very talented Kokoy De Santos - A Philippino actor who in my view could easily play Inaki's brother in a show or movie.
Live action happiness punch? That person was down bad for typing that out 💀

"He said it wrong"
Hehehehe
After so many horrid life action I was pleasantly surprised with this one. The casting was perfection.
Good thing they got OG voice actors from Japan, will make it even more accepting I think
japanese are used to hear japanese voice for luffy. and i dont think all people in this video have ever watch the english dub luffy. for me who watched both language have no complain about it. especially about gum gum pistol. it's same like when i watched it as a kid. and i understand why they dont like gum gum pistol. they just not used to it.
Jin!!!! The show runner, Matt Reeves is a comic book geek and huge anime fan. Oda oversees the whole thing, including the casting. He asked Mackenyu to come after seeing him in Renshin.
Matt Owens is OPLA's showrunner. Matt Reeves is The Batman director.
@@masdzulfikar6201 sorry 😂😂😂😂
Lmao imagine a One Piece adaptation directed by Matt Reeves
Matt reeves directing one piece would've been crazy 😂
Now I want to see Oda and Nami actress photo😂
The majority of overseas people have the same fears as the Japanese OP fans.
I really hope this is the live-action anime adaptation that breaks the curse of awful live-action anime adaptations. I hope it’s good.
Bleach,Rurouni Kenshin,Alice in Bordeland
Some of them are not happy that actors are not from Japan/Asia…without consider that characters in manga are not Japanese people 🤔
Mackenyu looks good for pre time skip zoro. Post time skip he need might need bigger muscles but not on the level or Schwarzenegger.
Can't wait for this!
ODA needs to live in America to realize he should’ve casted more Asians. Asian people in Asia don’t understand the lack of representation we have in the west.
It's really interesting to me that people weren't thrilled about the Englishi translation of "Gomu-Gomu no Pistol." I've just gotten used to it from being around so many English-speaking One Piece fans.
of course it wasn't sounds japanese because it's English, gum not gomu😂
It’s nice to hear that Japanese people are very open about it considering previous anime live action adaptations are not very good. And they are very polite with their criticism
The fact how differents both woman and man reaction towards the ONE PIECE LIVE ACTION, quite funny...
Welp, thanks to Oda-sensei involvement the LIVE-ACTION is made with a lot of hardwork and uses of resources... The production team has put a lot of passion and hardwork. But the most important is how well fans take it in the end.
Nice video!!! As a fan I always curious how the japanese thought of this this LA, thank you for the hardwork :))

Japanese wanted blue eyed white skinned blonde russian to play all brown chracaters including chopper
no
Apparently 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣, these people only concentrate their IQ in math and that’s it. Japanese people in general tend to have a really narrow vision of the world that surrounds them, even considering the fact that most of the characters in one piece are not even ethnically Japanese (and their physical aspects makes it look more evident ) they still think that somehow it would be better if it’s played by either Japanese people or the whities they love so much
tell me about it 😢
The only problem I have is that the fighting moves will be named in English, it's gonna sound a bit weird but it's not a deal breaker for me. As long as they stay true to the manga and write the characters well I'm good.
Alot of the movesets are engrish katakana anyways.
Imagine an English show speaking English, the audacity
You think it aint weird in japanese either? Trust its just as corny no matter language
When I saw someone say they’re glad it won’t be political I was like “Boy have you not been paying attention to this series.”.
not politically correct*
Understandable...
The first time they announcw it, my first reaction was.. "Oh no" For real 😂.
But i watched it now... Its okay... The show is good enough! 👏
The casting especially, they r perfect
The fact that so many people still wear masks with the heat that there’s in Japan still shocks me
They were wearing it before COVID ...they literally have word called mask sagesi 😂
That shouldn't be shocking at all seeing how they wore masks for anything and everything before the pandemic...
@@Duran762 yeah i know but they’re still scared of covid
I subscribed because I appriciate the subtitles you put effort in to it !
I hate the argument of “Oh Luffy could have been Asian honestly” 1) Oda helped cast them all and 2) In the manga it shows each of their ethnicities and they picked the actors to fit the right ethnicity
2:47 "yes yes yes yes yes" 😂 pretending to understand

I think the Japanese dub version will be better for the anime’s fans

GolDio - One Piece Live Action
It is expected that is why in Japan they will give them the voices of the anime so that they do not complain about the attacks, will someone one day give them a dictionary where the definition of adaptation comes from?
I honestly don't understand why there was one comment about no political correctness. One Piece has always been politically correct.
Fun fact about the Live Action Adaptation of One Piece: EIICHIRO ODA IS HIGHLY INVOLVED.
Ain’t no fucking way someone said “happiness punch in real life” man caught in 4k
the moment they have written in katakana and pronounced the english attack for decades with japanese pronunciation , so now that they hear it in actual english, it sounds strange to them.
The first I look for sanji is the eyebrow too 😂😂😂
Actually Netflix surprisingly did well But I heard that the owner of one piece who makes sure of that

I only seen one complaint for Zoro thus far, crazy to me. That guy's a badass. Great casting overall!
"Im worried that by being made in the U.S." truer words than that have never been spoken.
Considering Japanese live action has an even worse reputation
For live action..I will watch it in dub!

Oda has stated that many of the characters are based off of certain races like luffy is based on people from Brazil i believe etc so no one in the anime is even Japanese because as far as we know the only races in One piece are humans, giants, fishmen, sky people and a few others I can't think of right now

I have watched many anime live action none of them are perfect like over cosplaying which does suit in the film but one piece my days are so good really ❤
thanks for make this video in english, at least, me like a latin guy, i can understand
Well i am sure hard core Japanse fans of One Piece would want entire Straw Hat crew to be Japanse, but that would not have sense at all. International crew is far better and they really hit the spot. I really like the live action version, yes there were some differences, yes some side characters were not even present on the screen (taking how much characters One Piece have it is not surprise), but still comparing to the Death Note and Cowboy Bebop, Netflix did awesome job this time. It is not 100%, but it is perfect enough at 99% percent!!
Hard core One Piece fans don't even want live action to begin with.
@@AIIIAKS-vn4co Well i consider myself a hardcore fan of One Piece and i wanted the live action:) and i got it:) and i like it! While i do have few complains, its nothing really, the only real complains is Arlong nose is to small!!

I hope the original soundtrack of One Piece will be played.
This is what should be done when making a film when referring to anime, imagine you are sailing around the world but you only find Japanese people, this racial diversity is what One Piece needs
Please do more videos of japanese reacting to the One Piece live action
anything else other request??
I just want to say you need a proof reader for those English words. There are a few misspelled words there. "Pronunciation" for example at 5:59, Then "Philippines" at 4:07.
That aside, thank you for sharing with us what Japanese thinks of the live-action of one piece.
I can not believe it they say Dragon ball evolution is a masterpiece..
I love everything besides them calling out their moves, and arlong and shanks designs/casting. I think it would work better if the characters didn't call out attack moves. It doesn't fit the live action setting if you understand where I'm coming from. Everything else really seems to capture the essence of adventure in One Piece.
Also, I wasn't too bothered by the necessary changes, like Sanji's eyebrows
Personally, I really like the Shanks casting, BUT - I think that the shot of him from the new trailer was a little awkward. If you see the Shanks actor in other roles, it seems much more fitting to the character.
@@calliopeshif7581 I'll look into that

there a reason why he chose whole world cast , good marketing , lol
If they don't like the live action,eh Di don't watch it,bruh!japanese cannot appreciate bruh🕯
Man,people really need to move on from Dragon Ball Evolution already o. O it's been almost 15 years....
Also, literally àll anime adaptations have been low budget.
The ones that weren't:
Rurouni Kenshin (5 movies)
Death Note (2 movies, 1 spin-off)
Edge of Tomorrow
Ghost in the Shell
Alita: Battle Angel
Cowboy Bebop
And now One Piece
There are àll solid adaptations, mostly due to their bigger budgets.
I think it's unfair to hold low budget adaptations to the same standards. That's just begging for dissapointment.
Adaptations should adapt vibe, soul, characters, the vibrant world and the iconic scenes.
Everything else, imo, is okay to change. Cowboy Bebop did this perfectly. Too bad that the Bebop fans are a very tiny group and stood no chance against paranoide live action haters.
One Piece however has a huge fanbase and everyone recognised the love poured into the live action.
Tomorrow Studios also did that for Cowboy Bebop, but no one noticed because no one saw the anime. So they just hated blindly.
They deserved a lot more recognition and appreciation for that.
I'm happy they finally get it with One Piece.
The Granblue live action was also really great
@@arkanamaster4961 has got sh.t to do with One Piece. Stop your pathetic crying about the past and move on with your life towards newer and better things.
Your way of living is fkn negative.
Also, clearly, like most people, you don't understand what an "adaptation" is.
Hint:
Google the definition. It does not mean copy.
"Adapted from"
"Based on"
"Loosely based on"
"Inspired by"
"Imagined by"
"Brought to you by"
Are àll different things. Even if they're all about the same thing.
Accept that reality already.
Rather than live in online negativity and make that your entire personality.
That shit is gonna take over your life at one point. I'm telling you for your own good.
I'm not even over live action Mario, and that was 30 years ago. lol.
Honestly I'm definitely one of the paranoids now, whenever I see one of these LA adaptations my first thought is "oh great, some studio bigshot with a chip on their shoulder is going to try and 'fix' the source material again" and that nothing good can come of it. But that's not what I saw with Bebop; it was just fans disappointed that the show didn't turn out to be quite as awesome as the original was after the trailer got their hopes up. Still, it didn't come across as a fiasco or anything, didn't see the showrunners getting buttmad and attacking fans as racist or whatever (there was that minor drama with one actress who got a bit insecure about her appearance but eh) so it doesn't really deserve the disdain that most of the "remakes" get lately.
In this case though, I am more hopeful. It's obviously going to be different, but if anyone can keep them on track and make sure it still works, it's Oda.
@@LuciusC dude, Cowboy Bebop, the anime, had practically no fans.
The anime first flopped in Japan.
Then if flopped world wide.
The soundtrack of the anime became bigger than the anime itself.
The anime has been on Netflix for years, even years prior to the live action releasing. And the anime nèver trended a single time on Netflix the whole time it's been on there.
But then the live action releases and suddenly everyone saw the anime and are huge fans? Come on, man. Don't be so gullible towards the masses.
Just a whole lot of people claiming they are fans. Just people who think name dropping old anime (after googling them) gives them credibility online and a free pass to hate.
People were too lazy to watch a 26 episode anime to prepare for the live action. That's how much loyalty and effort the anime/manga community puts in things.
Which is further evidenced by the popularity and rise of "explanation videos" on youtube (where they explain the plot of what you just watched..)
So why did people hate Ghost in the Shell? I think live action versions of anime is weird but I am curious why did people hate it and why are people okay with this one?
you should redo this video now that the live action is out
5:27 😎👌
2:06. It's funny to me that of three adaptations shown, two are Japanese.
Oda sensei has confirmed long ago that in real life luffy would be Brazilian . And to be fair most anime reflect western genotypes in how they look . Naruto , bleach, dragon ball z . Which one of these would be Asian on real life ? None
I wanna hang out with the guy in the Nickelback shirt.
Did japanese release their own version? Or was that just a trailer?
pls for a next video about the second (much better) trailer ❤
I'm agree with the Shiawase Punch guy
