Ah, I really appreciate that Ciara :) thank you. I’m in Amsterdam next week for some quirky hotels! Feel free to subscribe to stay updated. Thanks for the support, and hope you’re having a good week!
The entrance and public spaces look properly nice and grand but the room? Is it even legal to have rooms within windows? What happens in case of fire? Also, for such a large hotel which seemed to be unoccupied, they had to stuff you in the servant quarters?
Yup. It did feel super quiet! Very stuffy room, which is a shame as the hotel is really grand. Hope you’re well Sarah :) off to Amsterdam hotels next week! Subscribe to keep updated
Hi Matt, thank you❤ for the opportunity to see again this hotel with a unique personality in the world. She's like a lavender-scented lady with a silver-tipped cane... In the hotel with personality I fell hopelessly in love with as a teenager❤ There is something full of wonders brought from other times, the atmosphere of this hotel, I love it!

Bournemouth isn't a city its a town....such a shame... I've lived here all my life and the gardens and beaches are stunning but the town centre is becoming derelict with so many empty units ... I don't know the answer really.?maybe landlords need to drop the rent or do 3months free to fill in the empty shops... its still well worth a visit for the beach alone
This was once a beautiful hotel up until the late 90s, I was brought up in Bournemouth and remember the Bentley's, Aston's and RR being valet parked by uniformed concierge, There was also a great pub, Buccaneer bar and Casino. If you want decent in Bournemouth go Hilton, Brittania Hotel's owned by Asians, they own two or three in Bournemouth 49 quid cheap and on the beach.
The absolute pikeys who book a £49 room then expect anything other than what was shown here. Looks good value to me…if you want 5* then expect to pay 10x that.
@@Journeywithmatt when it comes to Britannia people need to set their expectations, especially when you're paying £49 for such a location. Just like the infamous Adelphi on Liverpool. If it wasn't for coach trips then Britannia would soon go under
Hi...I've seen the Royal Bath on some other channels..never the room you were in... I cannot fathom a hotel room without a window. Its not even a legal room here in NYC,unless it has an operable skylight..as in brownstone middle rooms..no wonder its stuffy ans smelly....I didn't see any obvious mechanical ventilation.....I would not stay there...I like natural light...and a window to open...It's a shame, the Architecture of the hotel is beautiful.. I enjoy your videos..Take care and hello from NYC..
Hey! Thanks for the comment, and you’re right! I’m defo not a fan of rooms with no windows, you feel boxed in which is never nice. The hotel itself has a lot of potential, I think it just costs a lot to maintain. Hope you’re having a good day 😃
Bournemouth is not a city overhall hotel not bad I live in Bournemouth but would not reccommend it try some of the others many have a wore rep than this go up the orad one looks nice but is for sale due to very few guests after the round about think it is green and white apparently they should pay you to stay
My daughter and partner just came back after booking a night with expedia. Disgusting! Filty room. Dubious clientelle. Felt like staying in the hotel in The film The Shining. Couldnt sleep and had to place towels on bed as bedding was awful.. fittings covered in dirt and dust. Never ever stay here again. Rather stay in a prison.
Staff are miserable in there, as junkies come in all day, trying to smoke and have hits in the toilets etc! Not to mention, prostitutes using the rooms. I'd be unhappy working there, or the carrington! (which is used for the same things)

Your videos are great, I like the way you have the natural sounds on the videos rather than background music that people use!

I would never find my way back to my room after a night on the beer 😂
Ps. Your voice is very relaxing xx
Appreciate that :) and yes, I did think of that! lol 😂 I’d find a place in the hallway.
This used to one of the best hotels there 5* celebrities stayed there ,it was very posh ,so sad to see its gone so downhill😢
Shame, its still a very grand hotel though. Just a lot of maintaining I think!

Hello Matt I'm a new subscriber great channel mate 🙂
Thanks man, appreciate it.
The temperature would be the main thing that would put me of staying anywhere
It was hot indeed Ben, the two Britanias I've stayed have been like that lol. But this one tonight doesn't for a change :)

I wouldn't pay to stay in that room its grim
Yeah, it’s not nice at all. The mattress was something else. Also felt super stuffy too.

Mad isn’t it!
49 pound, double bed ocean view is a bargain! 5 min wipe down will fix the grime.
Yeah, the only issue with the room I had was there was on windows, stuffy, and hot. An ocean 🌊 view would be nice.
Place started out pretty grand but got progressively worse the far you went into it lol.
Lol 😂

Wow! that's mad. How's it still in business. Hope you're good Michael.
It didn't seem that bad to me
It’s not too bad. Still very grand for sure.
Get out of there I’d be on my toes 😮
Lol 😆 yeah I didn't wanna walk around barefoot that's for sure!
Hope you're well Pam.
