I agree. I am nonmusician, but a music lover and I think it is the notes he uses in certain patterns that just really evoke a mental and emotional response. Like the song, Slow Cheetah, the music, kind of makes the song lyrics make more sense somehow. Hard to explain.

I believe part of it is understanding music theory. While John undoubtably evokes emotion in his playing, he still understands where instruments need to sit back and give way for the structure of the song to build itself up.
As a musician myself, I seriously think John is the most important guitarist of the past 30 years. Not only is his playing complex, it’s also memorable and original.
John is truly up there on the guitar hierarchy!!! Absolutely one of the best guitarists ever🎸😎🔥
so glad we didnt loose him in 1994-1998
It's like "man... He just picks the PERFECT note for that moment.."
Amazing. I have such respect for Norton and his craft. One legend speaking about another! 🤘🏻
John’s work and tone on Stadium Arcadiam is incredible.
- I can't explain the level of satisfaction my brain get when i'm listening to John. ...That's what John Frusciante is all about
Je ressens la même chose que toi
He’s such a gift. ❤ He has an amazing talent and creative soul.
John's playing and choice of notes often hits this vibe I can only describe as Americana/ Wild West/Native American. If you told me he was visualising monument valley or the grand canyon while he played it would make perfect sense.
So true glad I got to see them all together on this last tour
Moi aussi !!!
i am so impressed he was able to express that because that describes how i feel too!
John is truly one of the best!
john got me back into guitar and learning more about it. lots to learn about music
He speaks TRUTH!!! In my mind he's the best guitarist currently playing ❤
I’ve always thought Frusciante was one of the greatest of all time. His style is instantly recognizable.
Very well said. John makes my whole shiver... amazing emotions.
I work from home and I listen to the Red Hot almost every single day. And also Frusciante's solo work and live covers.
My neighbors must think I'm crazy or deaf
Edward fucking GETS it!!
The part with the satisfaction and the brain is so accurate 🥰
💙😁
He’s speaking like a musician himself. Such a talented man.
I understand why he stepped back. I think you're both amazing in your individual crafts. But, I can imagine living my life for in the public. I hold my privacy very close, I don't share with many people or let them in my little world.. I'm not reclusive, I keep my circle small. I couldn't do what you do. Thanks to both of you for sharing your talent.
John is a rare one for sure. And idk if it’s luck, coincidence, fate or what bruv.
He’s a hail-Mary in this rock business
And I am SO HERE for him 🎸💜
John is unparalleled to me ❤
Agree
De acuerdo!
If you know anyone who expresses what's inside more authentically than him, just let me know
John is the 🐐
Perfectly put and great choice for an example in It's Only Natural. I just don't get the beginning...is John going to stop again? Don't get me scared!
1. Jimmy Hendrix 2. John Frusciante 3. Slash that's my top three
About to say slash and John Mike mccready up there
Couldn’t agree more.
Absolutely Ed
This is badass!
Well said Mr. Norton.
sure there are many guitarists with insane technical skills.. shred, arpeggios, dive bombs, etc.. but how many of them can sell albums for decades and sell out arenas? nevermind create songs that will stand the test of time like under the bridge, give it away, wet sand, i coud have lied, cant stop, etc?? his chord progressions and melodies are way up there in the top hierarchies.. he cant shred yes, but he sacrificed that early on and concentrated on what he can do musically..
He is simply right.

@@Mazafakidates oh yes duh lol
There is no guitar hierarchy. that’s only for people who think that art is a competition. On a technical aspect JF is not at the at all. To me he is more a good composer someone with a feel for melody. But is that something you can put in perspective to other songs. Maybe it’s just a question of taste.
What is this from?
What does Jah Rule think of this?
I get this niche reference, and it is hilarious
ed’s the coolest
Duh, you just said what every JOhn fan in history is thinking. Alot of people think learning his songs are easy. I DO NOT find that to be the case. For me, his brain is so different that I'm just like that can't be what he's playing, that doesn't make sense. But then he is. But I'm not a great guitar player.
What interview is this?
A podcast with Rick Rubin. Tetragrammaton.
Closet person too Hendrix
BEST HULK EVER
16years?
I think he means in between stadium Arcadium and unlimited love
@@unreborn damn that doesn't feel like 16 years 😭😭
like it was questionable in the last 10 years? It wasnt. Yes he is.
No shit
Absolutely. Especially in terms of creativity.
no edward, he is the greatest.
