People have pointed out that this is similar to another Japanese castle by Grian! I never watched his video before I built this, but it is indeed similar. Most all Japanese Castle's share a very similar shape (coming up from a rectangle, tapering off in width and with A frames on various floors) so ours look similar from a distance, but most all of the detailing and specifics are completely different. This one was made as a slimmer version of my previous Japanese castle design (which is in my unlisted playlist), which itself was based on Nagoya Castle ( www.nagoyajo.city.nagoya.jp/en/ ). Anyway, I am so very sorry for that! I never copy others and the similarity is completely unintentional. But if you want another design (his is actually better than mine haha), here is a link to Grian's video :) ua-cam.com/video/jZ1JeLstx2s/v-deo.html

I just finished it today, and it looks A M A Z I N G. Also just for the record if your building in 1.16, use warped slabs or crimson planks, they look pretty good and is much cheaper than dark prismarine
Just stumbled across this video and I'm about to build it, but THANK YOU for making it in first person. People don't understand how hard it is following these medium to big builds when it's time lapsed and in third person the whole time. Your voice is also super soothing and you dont have the annoying UA-cam narrator voice and a nice audio quality. I subbed and I look forward to checking out all your other builds and tutorials!!!!
My friends wanted to recreate a fictional town Ive made in Dnd. Thanks to you, the infamous and dangerous tavern/ inn known as "The Sapphire Palace" has come to life and has never looked better.
Hey, still working on the build! I know this is an old vid but I just want to say it's the best tutorial I've found so far. It's clear, concise and frankly your voice is really soothing :P It's like listening to Bob Ross in Minecraft. Thanks!
Still waiting for the interior design bit. This is by far one of the simplest yet beautiful takes on a Japanese castle. I'm already halfway done with the build in survival, though I'm not sure how to do the interior on this one. Will wait.
Amazing build easy to follow only took me 5 hours to build in survival and most of that time was spent terraforming to make the terrain around the castle look nice
Hey man I just finished it in 1.20.1 and it's amazing, and the best thing is 1.20 has Bamboo planks, trapdoors, and door, (for the interior) it really is awsome. You earned a sub
This building looks so cool! I have a matching starter house so this will be so cool as my new main base, I'm going to use Blackstone for the roof though.
This was really helpful because I was using four and a big one in the middle as part of my mega base. I tried looking for other tutorials but I couldn’t find one as thorough as yours this helped so much!!!
im just sitting here wondering why u only got 226 likes this is amazing and i love that u explaned everthing u did ! theres alot of youtubers who wont really explan what they are doing ;-; keep up the great work!!
It isn't a meme, im building It little by little, but first i have to prepare many farms to collect all the materials, like guardians farms, wood farms, acacia wood farm, and the rest of basic farms
Some tips to anyone doing this in survival; you dont need to convert all the white concrete powder before building. Going to need around 8-10 stacks (I'm still building, so not 100% sure yet) Convert 3 stacks manually, and for each level lay one layer of aolid concrete, lay the powder on top and use a water bucket to convert the powder in place. Another tip - this tutorial builds in stages; stone base, corner logs, frame, roof, walls. After the stone base and corner logs, I'm building the rest if the frame, roof and walls concurrently. Use the concrete powder to make stairs up, so i can just jump up them to build the frame/roof. Also elytra and scaffolds are a must.
18:15 to 18:20 you would have make it a lot easier for people in survival mode doing this by doing it in first person, placing this wood is being a nightmare right now, please answer soon as possible I don’t wanted leave the construction on 65% completion just because of the wood placement that you didn’t explain enough, help me please
Ima plop this sucker down in my survival world. Thanks. Ill reply to this comment when it's done 😂 Adding cobble and tuff for texture on the base already. For a stone base, looks pretty good lmao
I've built up to 13:10 the base structure, levels sectioned, windows put in place. This has been extremely fun to build. Resource intensive, even swapping out the dark prismarine for chiseled oxidized copper slabs, but EXTREMELY buildable. I've built far smaller tutorials that took longer. I embellished some things, changed out the roof for a pyramid over the shown prism. More pronounced edge curling: two slabs, step-wise, hung the lamps under the corners instead of placed on top, and some other tweaks but overall fantastic tutorial. Thank you.
I made something kind of like this with the Japanese them yesterday and took a whole week just to do the exterior but is so much bigger than this. But great build

No yours is better
His was barely a tutorial, more like a style of building I guess. It's just too fast if people actually want to build it. Yours is a lot better.
grian uses world edit in his tutorial making it really hard to build.
Straight up lying lol dude can't even act like you came up with this I dont even watch grian but this was definitely not your design

Finally someone who doesn’t use shaders to make their builds look good
I mean shaders are good but his is so good it looks good without and it would be perfect with shaders
Yes
He uses sshaders at the end
Technically he’s using shaders
yes, sir.

I just built the base of the castle. I added Cobblestone Stairs and Blocks for extra detail. I recommend using it on other builds using stone.
I watched grians first, but his was very grey. I love the use of dark prismarine.
Same lol

Nothing like making it to 7:27 and realising that the measurement of one side of your castle is off by ONE BLOCK
man your voice is so nice for a tutorial styled vid lmao
I am using that as Towers for my castle
thank's bro its simple and easy
You are a legend youtuber
I am going to build this castle for the third time now..
I chose to use bone block instead of white concrete just because it has that nice shade
Probably the smallest Japanese castle that I've seen, but it does look great on the outside.
If it’s too expensive for you to use dark prismarine, use warped stem (green wood from nether)
Looks good also :)
What green wood
Thank you for this video, I really liked it, release more videos and I build this Japan Castel on my iPad Nice 😂🤣👍
dude youre popping off now! i was at your first vid on the castle and it had 10 views, now 77K..... but where did you go
