Planet Zoo is nearly a Zoo Tycoon sequel, a Zoo Tycoon 2019 game. A wildlife game, zoo game and animal game and soon we'll be adding Planet Zoo gameplay.

Anyone else feel super sad thinking that this zoo was 100% full, and then lost it with happiness when they saw the 7%?
Ngl I thought it was at like 20% and my heart was kinda sinking, because while it is detailed it wasn’t to the point where I thought 20% was a valid amount of space taken for what was on screen.
WAIT: this entire zoo he made was only 7%?
DAAAANNNG! No one should even be worried at this point!

Even older gen planet coaster wasn’t awful but when games are optimised correctly the next gen console’s rlly get to stretch their legs

So the complexity meter actually gives around the same freedom as I originally thought, again not an ideal feature but 99% of people won’t notice it. Like by the end of the build there was what over 30 species in the zoo and like 300-350 rocks and other peace’s of foliage in the zoo, with tones of guests and buildings aswell for just 11% that’s insane maybe 150+ animal zoos can happen pretty easily.

The thing people always seem to forget is that technically the pc version does have a complexity limit as well, it just depends on how powerful a pc you have. The main difference is how on console it will stop you if you build too much, but at 100%, your zoo should still run fine. Whereas on pc it won't stop you, but build too much and it'll start lagging up to a point where it basically becomes an unplayable slideshow.
So sure if you have a super powerful pc you could in theory build a much larger zoo than on console, but if you only have a mid range or older pc you'd likely either not be able to do as much or have to play with graphics settings turned right down.
The main thing for me that the pc definitely has over console though is mod support and being able to add custom content.

Awesome video! One thing that's worth mentioning is Planet Zoo Console edition will have mouse and keyboard support, so you can plug in a mouse and keyboard. I do this on the console version of Planet Coaster and it makes things sooooo much easier.
Waited for years to get a chance to play this game. I'm so excited, thanks for the review! I'm also a lot less stressed about the complexity meter, knowing all that was only 11%.

First time player, console only player. I needed a new sim game to add to my Disney Dreamlight Valley playing. I love building, but there's a very hard cap in that game. I've so far been taking my time playing the scenarios, and I think I'm finally getting it. Besides the undo thing, I don't have to think too hard anymore what buttons I'm pushing to get stuff done.
I'm glad it seems to be generally okay! The undo thing does seem annoying, but still.
Also excited to see what people make now that more people have access to the game!
I was thinking about getting this game for the PS5 but I was hesitant thinking it would be very limited. But after seeing your video I went and got the Deluxe edition! Really looking forward to playing this myself finally, I played Zoo Tycoon for years.

I can imagine the building being a bit tricky, especially at first... But with practice I imagine it gets a lot easier. But wow, I'm honestly impressed with how much you were able to include and the fact that zoo complexity only reached 11%. I mean, sure, there's going to be limits to what you can build, but on most PCs there are limits too (largely based on when lag gets unbearable). This really does look like a great option for people who aren't able to play it on PC, and it looks like console players will still get to experience the best parts of the game. Yeah, overall I'm impressed with how they managed to bring it to console like this. It's pretty cool.
Not sure if I'll ever get the console edition (I'd need a current gen console, first). But it's nice to see how functional it is.

i have been playing planet zoo since it came out on pc i cant wait for it to come out on ps5 i currently have 4 house and 30 mins till it comes out i am so excited and i cant wait to get all the dlc again

I do have a gaming laptop (I play Overwatch on it... talk about a love/hate relationship with a game!) but I always prefer to play cozy games on my couch with a controller. I hate gaming on a computer (I use a mac for work and there's only Civilization VI on it, but I don't play it much these days) and will always choose console if the option is there for anything not an FPS. My husband tried to get me to buy Planet Zoo for the PC but I resisted. I have a 6 year old and she loves to watch me play (and play herself!) Jurassic World Evolution 2 and Disney Dreamlight Valley. We sit on the couch together, me with an iced coffee and her with a snack, and we practice reading or learning about dinosaurs or whatever. That is my preferred gaming style and that's why I was absolutely thrilled when the console edition for Planet Zoo was announced. I'm okay with things taking more time or maybe not being as precise, because ultimately I'm here to relax and get comfy, often times with my kid.

Hay so much m new to planet zoo but I’m gonna play on Xbox and I just wanna know but do you have the option to play with unlimited money and animal pontes
I have it on laptop but don’t play very often because I don’t have a very good space to play and my laptop too hot. Hoping with the Xbox version I will play more often as it’s so much easier (and more comfortable) to turn it on and play
Some console games are also compatible with keyboard and mouse if you have spare usb inputs. Idk if Planet Zoo console supports keyboard and mouse but if it does, you’re going to have a much easier time.

I’m glad frontier have brought planet zoo to console my only thing I have the pc edition and if I won’t to move over to the console I have to buy all the dlc packs again and I won’t be-able to access the zoo I’ve already created because it’s not cross platform so basically I would have to start all over again which is a little frustrating and expensive, I was hoping it was cross platform as my pc is on its way out and PlayStation is cheaper than a gaming pc so whilst I’m excited I’m also and little gutted hopefully they will make it cross platform

Console only player here. Also very new to the game. I’ve put quite a bit of time into it already and I’ve started diving into sandbox mode. I’m have a lot of trouble with lagging and fps. My complexity meter was at 6%, 2-3 habitats and it was already lagging and bugging out. It seems to only happen when I move the camera near crowded guests. Wondering if you or anyone has some insight. Thanks!

If they could bring Planet Zoo to console , and I know it was built with it in mind buuut, Im hoping that means if we do get JWE3 it could be just as complex as Planet Zoo in some regards. Namely breeding. But I guess we'll see...

I need help with the game. I played it for several hours today, built a normal sized zoo, open the zoo and suddenly, even only with like 200 guests, my game is not playable anymore because of the lags. Only when I have guests in my zoo, it‘s extremely laggy. I play on xbox series x, does anyone know how to fix this?😢
This has 100% alleviated any concerns I had going into the game, and I’m absolutely going to sink way too many hours into it.
I have actually owned planet zoo on PC, so this won’t be a first time, but highly unspecced for it, and it got to the point where playing the game was such a hassle and was really rough with lag spikes and less than ideal graphic settings. Investing in a PC capable of playing it to the degree I’d want to would be significantly greater than getting this edition, so I’m very excited to get started

Do they not have keyboard and mouse support? I’ve never understood while the vast majority of these games that come to console from PC complain about how difficult it is to adapt keyboard controls to a console controller, yet no one bothers to even have to option of using the exact same control scheme by just popping in a wireless keyboard and mouse
