    • @RipOffProductionsLLC
      @RipOffProductionsLLC 9 місяців тому +8

      Lower gravity isn't as big an issue as higher gravity.
      In lower gravity, you're already strong enough to move yourself around, you'll only need to readjust how you move, and long term moght need to worry about permanent "damage" that would prevent returning to Earth or other 1G environments.
      Higher gravity requires you to have more strength to move the same mass you already have... which leads to an almost Rocket Equation-like issue of more muscle adding more weight that requires more muscle to lift/move...

    And folks, this is why mobility and motion stress on your joints are major concerns when you put on the pounds...
    I say this as someone who at 21, weighed roughly 210 pounds, and now at 31, am at 290 pounds. It sucks. I cannot run for as long or as hard as I could before, my feet hurt just from walking a few miles... And while age and the fact I smoke are factors - my weight gain is perhaps a bigger *immediate* strain on my body.
    This is why I chose to begin losing weight, I miss being as active as I once was and I hate the pain on my joints as a result of my weight gain.
    And this isn't to shame other obese people, if you are happy or comfortable being big - that's okay. Your weight is your business, not mine. This is just my reason for wanting to drop a few stone.

    Pretty sure that you could make fabric out of lead. Lead is soft enough that, if you can make wires of the right gauge, you can weave them into a sheet of fabric, without breaking them. It would be notably thicker than most fabrics, but still a fabric.
    The Mythbusters managed to make lead foil sufficient to make a functional lead balloon...that actually floated. So I'm pretty sure fabric woven from strands of lead...is doable.
    The trick then, is actually tailoring it into clothing. But doing so would produce a much more even distribution of the weight. And if you want more weight, just use more layers of the lead fabric.
    I'm actually pretty sure you could make a nice-looking three-piece suit that you still can't even tell (by looking) weighs an easy 200 lbs all on its own.

    The goku sort of setup might not work, but I’ve wondered if there’s ANY way to make weighted clothing practical.
    It’s been pretty well established through tests like Kyle’s that having concentrated weights continuously is a bad idea, but ever since I’ve wondered if it would work any better to have lots of smaller weights distributed as evenly as possible across his entire body. Like using lead fishing weights or something.
    Maybe like two layers of fabric with lead bb type stuff between them and a bunch of sewn/glued seams to keep them in place like a quilt sort of thing but then using that as fabric for form fitting clothing.

      I feel like chainmail would work quite well for this. The weight would be about as even as you can get, and you just put on/take off pieces of it to achieve the desired weight.

  • @TheDeathmail
    @TheDeathmail 9 місяців тому +1

    This is a kinda flawed study. Goku and the Z-warriors were able to lift over a ton.
    In fact, it'd be no trouble for them to lift a semi-trunk, which can go up to 35,000 lbs.
    So their weighted clothes are less than 1% of what they can actually lift...

    Its always more efficient to isolation train and than train for the specific movement than do general weight training.
    With weighted clothing like this you remove THE only muscle building portion of weight training.... rest and rebuilding.

    The thing I hate about this video is that he doesn't start slowly, adding just a tiny bit per week. Of course you're going to suffer when suddenly adding 50% mass.

  • @Citrakite
    @Citrakite 9 місяців тому

    Catch is what Goku wears is basically equal to 2x his own mass (he's 62kg/137lbs and his weighted clothes add up to 113 or 250 lbs) so while Kyle is a healthy boy he's having trouble at 1.5g while Goku is at 3g. In other words assuming Kyle is a nice 200 lbs of off brand Asgardian he'd have to wear nearly 400 lbs and weigh about as much as a motorcycle when he was done. That's a serious leg day.

It works in theory similarly to micro plating. Anyways a long term study with actual top performing athletes would be fascinating

    Kyle, you have to revisit this idea. But instead you have to wear it for a month. You sleep in the clothes, and other than bathing your in those clothes. Constantly doing pull-ups, pull-ups, and crunches. And let's see if the weight truly is unbearable by the end of the month. I bet the results would be shocking. Would love to see those games, discount Thor.
