Amit Sir, this is the first class/lecture I have heard on net about nuclear submarines. No doubt India today lags behind all the nuclear powers on this technology. Our main objective at this point of time is to be prepared for any type of conflict against China and China has nuclear subs at present. What type of nuclear subs we require at this moment is the important question, SSN or SSBN. Militarily in the Himalayan Region, India enjoys overall superiority over China. 1. India's force is a volunteer force, better motivated and trained who take it as a hereditary calling, the Chinese are young conscripts serving for limited period; 2.The terrain is familiar to the local people, whereas, the Chinese soldiers are transplants from various regions of China; 3. The Indians are acclimatised unlike the Chinese; 4. The army goes in for tried and tested weaponry whereas the Chinese have no choice of technology; 5. In the initial stages of war, it is the air superiority that counts rather than size or numbers of the ground forces; and 6. Indian forces have the advantage of battle experience, whereas the Chinese experience is in roit control. So it is plain that China will not push too hard in the north and North East for fear of loosing what they now have. They will hold on to their mechanised forces and throw their infantry to attack to overrun Indian forces and use their drones to maximum effect.
This being the scenario in the north, they will use their submarine force to devastating effect by attacking our harbours and warships and aircraft carriers in the Indian Ocean to cripple our trade. For this their submarine SSBNs in Djibouti and South China sea will be used. Of course we do have surveillance planes and naval ships patrolling the sea lanes, but the Chinese will have stealth and distance to their advantage. By the time we develop our own submarine forces, we will loose about 6-10 years in R&D and testing. By that time China will have added more than 6 more submarines to their present strength because they already have all the technology required.
In these circumstances, the best that we can do is to buy 4-5 used subs from France while we develop our own R&D by nuclear research. Time factor is of the most importance as war can start at any moment. The Choice of France over Russia is because French designed nuclear subs are technically superior to Russian ones because in case of overhauling, the Russian subs will have to be cut and re-welded again
after I finish reading what you wrote, I found you analyzed all the advantages that India has in the Himalayas region, let's put the authenticity aside, I just want to ask the basic question, why do you feel so confident about your made in India and training in India whereas there's a huge technology gap between India and China. Additionally, you probably need to figure out how much India's defensive budget has. India is purchasing everything from Russia and Western countries. In terms of R&D, they somehow have run out of money. It takes India 30 years to build its Tejas and 30 years in Arjun. Compare with nuclear submarines, these're a piece of cake I have to say. Lastly, a truth: Russia has the best submarine coops in the world even compared with the U.S. They are undoubtedly outstanding the French ones.
@@AnonymousSong While I don't agree with Indian tech being superior to Chinese tech, I do agree with the OP on the fact that Indian military is better equiped to handle high altitude warfare. In fact, India army is considered as the best in High Altitude Warfare due to genetic and historical factors. Puting that aside, I believe the border conflict between India and China will be solved via diplomacy rather than warfare. China lays claims to Indian territory in the east that India will never cede. The only issue is of the Ladakh region in Kashmir. China currently occupies Aksai Chin which India refuses to accept as chinese territory as the boundary of Ladakh was demarcated clearly in the treaty of 1842 between Tibet and Ladakh. This chinese incursion in Aksai Chin is the major point of conflict which needs to be diplomatically resolved.
@@AnonymousSong I think OP meant that china mainly uses Chinese defense equipment and to some extent Russian too, india has advantages of getting best from both France Russia and USA and Israel
@@AuraJewel Actually, India cannot get the best from western countries. No 5th gen fighters, no SSBNs, no hypersonic missiles. You know what, when you talk about the best, you have to develop by your own.
@@AnonymousSong I agree with you, the 'best' imo is probably the time tested equipment, but yeah the most cutting edge hardware can't be bought and only be developed
Sir I'm so so happy that defence and space sector has been opened up for private participation. I (every Indian) already feel so confident and powerful to take on any threat.
Indeed to be precise India is almost 1decade behind in term of Research and Development. Countries such as US, China, Australia, Germany, UK and Russia are way ahead in backyard Research and government do support private companys to come up with innovation technologies. Indian definitely need to focus more on private players on research and development. Most of Indians Engineers prefer to copy rather creating their own products.
@@philipsnimesh that is the whole point of privatisation. If India was on par with the world, there would be no need to scrape the existing units. Companies can buy talent with money and considering the amount they would be bidding for from the ever growing defence budget cause of Upneet Chinese threats, nothing much is going to stop the world’s top contenders except for it’s home countries to compete for the market share in India. With knowing how large Mahindra, Tata, Adani, reliance etc groups in India, their purchase power is likely to fill the vacuum quite soon.
@@philipsnimesh you have missed one more point. DRDO is currently working as assembling agency than innovating their own tech.
"I (every indian) already feel so confident and powerful to take on any threat". threat from who? the USA and its ally build a powerful defence force to protect their way of life. similarly, does indian defence force to protect indian way of life? half of the indian population are starving and half of population have no toilet way of life need to be protected?
"I (every indian) already feel so confident and powerful to take on any threat". threat from who? the USA and its ally build a powerful defence force to protect their way of life. similarly is the indian defence force used to protect indian way of life? half of the indian population are starving and another half of indian population have no toilet , does that way of life need to be protected? come on! lol.
comparing KFC chicken recipes to nuclear sub technology is the perfect analogy.
That's how we roll, bois!!
🤣😂
Joel A: Sir...you made my day 😄
True 😅
😂
It's understandable that the US is reluctant to share this technology because it took them decades and large amount of resources to develop this kind of capability. Not to mention this is critical to national defense much like the F22 raptor. India has the brains and the resources to develop this kind of technology much like what China did. It is only a matter of time.
But most brains goes to other countries and the resources part is true but the politics behind it is just full chaos
China stole western, mainly US, technology. India is not a thief.
@@viyer3389 The USSR also did steal....
@@jonathanalvinrays..7070 USSR and the US stole from each other all the time lol. China stands out these days because they couldn't be arsed to cover up their espionage/theft.
Just like Abhijit Iyer Mitra said "India got a third world army because it is a third world country"
India has a long way to go. We have the potential that doesn't mean we have become superpower
@Shankar Mahadevan spritualness is the ultimate science and can revolutionize the human race but by this means the prevalent religion will be dismantled first because that is not even a tip of Dharma.
No mention on the failure of talks about the occupied Indian territories in Ladhak and the probable invasion of AP. Zilch!
Only talks about the ' future'! Indian style!
An arm-chair thinker who refuses to see light of the day for India ! Awfully, his surname, a veg , speaks fo himself !
@Monochord111 Wow 🙏
@@michaeldelisieux Talks are going on, b/w India and China. By the way, India and China had only a small border fight but that 2020 clash did not elevated to the position of actual war like Europe is currently into. India- China have managed our current conflicts much better than Russia and Europe.
Dear Amit FRance in addition of its 4 ballistic subs is also having 6 nuclear powered attack subs. If I may as well mention, Spain is no longer part of the Scorpene program that is managed alone by Naval Group.
This. Amit needs to correct that fact; France has 6 SSNs, not zero lol.
France is not strong a country where an Arab son can kill anybody
Thanks sir for this valuable lecture
Really loves your way of teaching 🙌🙌

Outstanding explanation. Really, really informative. Thank you.
"Plus India is a democracy. You know how difficult it is to get everyone on board. Especially if it is for a good cause."
Haha, that's about the best description of democracy I've heard since Churchill's, "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others."
Most educative , informative.
.Not fair... the West buillt state of art military Technology, secondly they sold this thing called Democracy to other countries.... Seems like ... We got the guns but no bullets....
I'm so lucky to find this excellent channel after so long. Thank you so much.

I said it 2-3 months ago that sir please make more defence videos for defence aspirants n till then there is no stopping. Uploading videos for defence aspirants back to back. Keep going sir. Thank you for such videos.
Amit sir is Doing Amazing work & he explained every thing in very simple term in short time thankyou sir🙏🙏❤❤
Sir, France have 6 SSN along with 4 SSBN. Nice information, very much useful in studies for current affairs.
Bro currently France has only one other 5 are in building
Amit sir, your voice is like nectar. We don't need today sweet after Bojan. Sir one final request sir, please make video on regular basis, it very hard to wait long time. Thanku so much sir🙏🙏🙏
Hey buddy! We wouldn't know the amount of hard work that is required to give us these better quality contents. Let's appreciate his work and accept his timing as well. ✌️
@@mercyjeffins7051 agree buddy, that's why we eagerly waited.
12:20 I wouldn't really call it a double standard. Australia could never meaningfully compete with the US on security diplomacy, where as India could within 50 years and if circumstances demand it. I really hope not, this relationship between US and India feels fresh and we should see that it works well
Maybe on the tech/industry side as well? Australia seems to have little interest in pursuing nuclear industry themselves. At the very least they don't have any industry currently. So any HEU would come from UK/US for each submarine, and it wouldn't surprise me if basically the entire reactor does, as basically a "consumable". So it would seem UK/US would remain in control over any future submarine construction. Actually I wonder if Australia will even get all the reactor tech, or basically only the "operating manual" of the selected model but nothing much for future R&D? But India is wanting the ability to go it alone, and presumably build and design its own reactors with its own uranium instead of having to ask nicely for each unit?
That's how I saw it. India is a potential rival superpower, whereas Australia is really just a small, albeit well developed, country.
Well time is bitch yall know 2 centuries ago a white man will never imagine his future generations getting married with a black woman or black man, 100 year ago no one will think that japan will be most peacefull nation in upcoming years cuz they were wrose than nazies
Who knows may be these aussies will new superpower
@@Zilentification its rather about anglospehere and a reality check for भारत. in time, USA will betray us like it always has.
the only interest US ever has in any nation is economical inter3st.
"You know how difficult it is to get everyone on board, specially for a good cause." - Funny but true
No words to say.. You are a wonderful teacher. Crisp sweet lecture...😅 Quite understandable. Thank you so so much sir. Let God bless you..:-) Shukriya Sir!💞

Sweet lecture 🤣🤣
Completely agree... democracy can grow only by it's private sectors not government....all great economies are examples
Amazing clarity in explaining.. even my 4 yr kid who was watchin this with me asked " who is this person explaining so well" ..my son definetly liked ur voice and tone...
What a beautifully made video...! Great work, explained complex terms very nicely..
Thank-you is such a small word for your work. Grateful to you for having made this video ❤
Unlike Australia, India is already near the front lines. Brazil has a $7.8 billion SSN under construction with technical aid coming from France.
For India to receive advanced US micro-nuclear technology, India has to join the Five Eyes, Five Passport Group, and 'etc'. For India asking for a US nuclear submarine ahead of Australia and Canada is flawed when India is not even a member of the Five Eyes, Five Passport Group, JSF and 'etc'.

Your "india bends over for America like the other countries" is FALSE.
I think we should heavily invest in nuclear capable drone submarines and let them patrol the world's oceans for thirty years at a time, coming back to home port only when the AI directives and programs need to be readjusted in accordance to which countries need readjustment.
That's a terrible Idea. You think that in thirty years time technology wont have changed enough to hack or commander them. There should never be a weapon that can fire without a human behind the trigger.
Most fuckall idea ever ! 👏
As usual great narrative 💯🙏
Amit can you make videos on Techno commercial topics too? Like UPI, digitilization of India, AI in military. You are really good and with changing technology landscape you may consider this. Thanks
Great video sir. However, as per defence experts, we can only see Nuclear Attack Subs best in the early part of the next decade, since the defence procurement takes a VERY LONG Time.
Amazing sir..just can't stop myself without heard your explanation 🙌
Good one Amit. You made it very simple, but very tricky to understand.
Excellent video! Would love to see some videos on timestamp and key events on the wars (pak, china) india fought post independence. Also linking it to the notable bravery awards.
Sir, you explain a lot in concise manner... Thank you.... ❤️❤️❤️
Watching this from Finland. Good explanation. Thank you.
Unrelated question, why do Indians say sir so much?
A social mark of respect for someone who imparts knowledge. Also an automatic servile response cultivated over the years during the British Raj to curry favor.
This channel is followed mainly by students who are preparing for various exams in India. Since his videos are educational, they address him as 'Sir'. We don't address everyone as 'Sir'. We do still speak a little old-fashioned English still in India. However, addressing anyone as 'Sir' is certainly not to 'curry favor'.

Very informative .. please keep up the good work!
India's social values and depth of life are much higher than the west's. So far, India has never stabbed a nation since 1947 and is always committed to establishing good neighborly relations with all countries around. Let India stay as Bapuji's India, Shubash-Neheru's India - only concentrate to sophisticate its world-class defense systems and capabilities.
Thank you sir for your supportable video . It is very helpful for me in terms of learning English and extra knowledge.
Mr. Sengupta. Your explanations are clear and crisp. It is very pleasing to listen and understand. Thanx.

Excellent information, thanks🙏
Well Explained...Thank you !
You made it crystal clear sir..thank you
Great explanation 👍👍
Great summary!
7:01 absolutely true. Not many realize these challenges n how easy it is for a Gov to not do anything or even pass bills that are beneficial to only the higher-ups and get away with it. But, when it comes to bills that truly benefit the population/citizen in the long run, with little to no benefits for the officials, then the bill is met with critical challenges and, the population who would be benefiting from them would themself be manipulated to fight against it. The irony.
Good insights Thanks Sir 🙏

Amit, what a genius, new to this channel and learning sooo much. Amazing, keep it up. I think moral of the story is, learn to do things yourself. India, South Korea, Turkey all realised this and are developing their own war hardware designed and built indiginously. These countries have a great future. More nations need to do the same, and stop just buying stuff from others.
