    Amit Sir, this is the first class/lecture I have heard on net about nuclear submarines. No doubt India today lags behind all the nuclear powers on this technology. Our main objective at this point of time is to be prepared for any type of conflict against China and China has nuclear subs at present. What type of nuclear subs we require at this moment is the important question, SSN or SSBN. Militarily in the Himalayan Region, India enjoys overall superiority over China. 1. India's force is a volunteer force, better motivated and trained who take it as a hereditary calling, the Chinese are young conscripts serving for limited period; 2.The terrain is familiar to the local people, whereas, the Chinese soldiers are transplants from various regions of China; 3. The Indians are acclimatised unlike the Chinese; 4. The army goes in for tried and tested weaponry whereas the Chinese have no choice of technology; 5. In the initial stages of war, it is the air superiority that counts rather than size or numbers of the ground forces; and 6. Indian forces have the advantage of battle experience, whereas the Chinese experience is in roit control. So it is plain that China will not push too hard in the north and North East for fear of loosing what they now have. They will hold on to their mechanised forces and throw their infantry to attack to overrun Indian forces and use their drones to maximum effect.
    This being the scenario in the north, they will use their submarine force to devastating effect by attacking our harbours and warships and aircraft carriers in the Indian Ocean to cripple our trade. For this their submarine SSBNs in Djibouti and South China sea will be used. Of course we do have surveillance planes and naval ships patrolling the sea lanes, but the Chinese will have stealth and distance to their advantage. By the time we develop our own submarine forces, we will loose about 6-10 years in R&D and testing. By that time China will have added more than 6 more submarines to their present strength because they already have all the technology required.
    In these circumstances, the best that we can do is to buy 4-5 used subs from France while we develop our own R&D by nuclear research. Time factor is of the most importance as war can start at any moment. The Choice of France over Russia is because French designed nuclear subs are technically superior to Russian ones because in case of overhauling, the Russian subs will have to be cut and re-welded again

      after I finish reading what you wrote, I found you analyzed all the advantages that India has in the Himalayas region, let's put the authenticity aside, I just want to ask the basic question, why do you feel so confident about your made in India and training in India whereas there's a huge technology gap between India and China. Additionally, you probably need to figure out how much India's defensive budget has. India is purchasing everything from Russia and Western countries. In terms of R&D, they somehow have run out of money. It takes India 30 years to build its Tejas and 30 years in Arjun. Compare with nuclear submarines, these're a piece of cake I have to say. Lastly, a truth: Russia has the best submarine coops in the world even compared with the U.S. They are undoubtedly outstanding the French ones.

      @@AnonymousSong While I don't agree with Indian tech being superior to Chinese tech, I do agree with the OP on the fact that Indian military is better equiped to handle high altitude warfare. In fact, India army is considered as the best in High Altitude Warfare due to genetic and historical factors. Puting that aside, I believe the border conflict between India and China will be solved via diplomacy rather than warfare. China lays claims to Indian territory in the east that India will never cede. The only issue is of the Ladakh region in Kashmir. China currently occupies Aksai Chin which India refuses to accept as chinese territory as the boundary of Ladakh was demarcated clearly in the treaty of 1842 between Tibet and Ladakh. This chinese incursion in Aksai Chin is the major point of conflict which needs to be diplomatically resolved.

      Indeed to be precise India is almost 1decade behind in term of Research and Development. Countries such as US, China, Australia, Germany, UK and Russia are way ahead in backyard Research and government do support private companys to come up with innovation technologies. Indian definitely need to focus more on private players on research and development. Most of Indians Engineers prefer to copy rather creating their own products.

      @@philipsnimesh that is the whole point of privatisation. If India was on par with the world, there would be no need to scrape the existing units. Companies can buy talent with money and considering the amount they would be bidding for from the ever growing defence budget cause of Upneet Chinese threats, nothing much is going to stop the world’s top contenders except for it’s home countries to compete for the market share in India. With knowing how large Mahindra, Tata, Adani, reliance etc groups in India, their purchase power is likely to fill the vacuum quite soon.

    12:20 I wouldn't really call it a double standard. Australia could never meaningfully compete with the US on security diplomacy, where as India could within 50 years and if circumstances demand it. I really hope not, this relationship between US and India feels fresh and we should see that it works well

    • @SyncViews
      @SyncViews 2 роки тому

      Maybe on the tech/industry side as well? Australia seems to have little interest in pursuing nuclear industry themselves. At the very least they don't have any industry currently. So any HEU would come from UK/US for each submarine, and it wouldn't surprise me if basically the entire reactor does, as basically a "consumable". So it would seem UK/US would remain in control over any future submarine construction. Actually I wonder if Australia will even get all the reactor tech, or basically only the "operating manual" of the selected model but nothing much for future R&D? But India is wanting the ability to go it alone, and presumably build and design its own reactors with its own uranium instead of having to ask nicely for each unit?

    For India to receive advanced US micro-nuclear technology, India has to join the Five Eyes, Five Passport Group, and 'etc'. For India asking for a US nuclear submarine ahead of Australia and Canada is flawed when India is not even a member of the Five Eyes, Five Passport Group, JSF and 'etc'.

    India's social values and depth of life are much higher than the west's. So far, India has never stabbed a nation since 1947 and is always committed to establishing good neighborly relations with all countries around. Let India stay as Bapuji's India, Shubash-Neheru's India - only concentrate to sophisticate its world-class defense systems and capabilities.

    7:01 absolutely true. Not many realize these challenges n how easy it is for a Gov to not do anything or even pass bills that are beneficial to only the higher-ups and get away with it. But, when it comes to bills that truly benefit the population/citizen in the long run, with little to no benefits for the officials, then the bill is met with critical challenges and, the population who would be benefiting from them would themself be manipulated to fight against it. The irony.

    Amit, what a genius, new to this channel and learning sooo much. Amazing, keep it up. I think moral of the story is, learn to do things yourself. India, South Korea, Turkey all realised this and are developing their own war hardware designed and built indiginously. These countries have a great future. More nations need to do the same, and stop just buying stuff from others.

    The Military Industrial Complex produced amazing machines, but it is just as corrupt as the government is. Cost overruns and delays are a part of its daily operations. On top of that, parts for the machines are made in every state making the supply chain very expensive.
