PART 10! Repairing a crusty rusty section on the 67 bug's quarter panel

Time to sort out that previously cut out section on the beetle today. With only basic tools at the moment does not mean it can't be repaired. Today we will template and cut out a repair panel and weld it into place. Also add a seam on the panel for an original look.

One is an 80's Daihatsu Mira trxx turbo saved from the scrap yard and the other is an abandoned Yanase 1967 Volkswagen beetle. You should put a couple more slices into the fold to make the curve a bit less kinked, also I highly suggest getting a gas based mig welder and using 0.024 sized wire. Flux is very hard to do a good job with.

Thanks for commenting. Yes you're right,a couple more slices in the panel would have been better. I'm a massive fan of gas mig welding but unfortunately not in the position to get one at the moment
