Legend states that if you beat every Amon fight in legend mode without being hit you get his sunglasses in real life
Honestly, anyone who manages to pull that off should get visited by Nagoshi himself (Japan only though) and be given amon shades.

What makes Jo Amon stand out in Lost Paradise is that he literally dies after you defeat him with him cursing "Nagoshi!" for being killed off afterwards. I like how it's likely a canon reason why we never see Jo again going forward as Shin takes his place.
Also is the only Amon who dies, the rest just being defeated and wanting revenge.

Fun fact: you can determine that Yakuza Ishin came AFTER yakuza 5 because ishin introduced the Fiercest Warrior themes for the Amons from then on

Shin Amon in judgement is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately I didn’t experience first hand myself, rather I was watching a friend play it at a hangout session. When the battle began, we were thrown off at the OST at first, expecting a similar tone to fiercest warrior. Then incomes the grab and seeing the phone being taken away, that is when shit hits the fan. Everyone watching was hyped as hell, especially when the track kicked things off. Speaking of, I absolutely love the track. It’s probably my personal favorite Amon theme. It takes fiercest warrior and does something different with it. What we get is a track that makes you feel like you are fighting a god which I guess wouldn’t be too far off the mark. The fight itself is clever and a sight to see as well. Seeing his different forms indicating which style to use is such a cool thing to see. Overall, Shin gets a 10/10 wish I had a PS5
Judge Eyes' Shin Amon is the hardest for me, idk what i'm looking at since he use the power of frame drop. And the easiest one is AmonJuz
ME WITH MY BASE PS4 FIGHTING SHIN AMON
Yeah it's also been trial and error for me when i'm fighting him, i like need 4-6 tries to defeat him on hard mode, but for juzo it's just 3 tries for me to defeat him on the same difficulty.
That boss is a pay to win boss. I bought a PS5 which made him easier, no essence of frame drop.
He's my fave since he directly messes with the player. Weaponized slowdown and disabling the pause button.
Interesting for me it's the other way round
So OG Yakuza 2 Jo Amon from what I have seen starts off bare handed before busting out guns, then space guns, and then the lightsabers. The cool part is that you see him transition to these states over the fight. Best footage of Amon in Kenzan I’ve seen is that he has 4 phases and he has a move that blitzes you with a shit ton of bombs that will kill you if you’re too far from him
Yakuza 8 Secret Boss - Kiryū Kazuma (Total health of 25 Health Bars):
- Phase 1: Brawler (Azure Radiance) [Bars 25-22]
- Phase 2: Rush (Lavender Magenta) [Bars 21-18]
- Phase 3: Beast (Mustard Yellow) [Bars 17-14]
- Phase 4: Reborn (Lavender Mist) [Bars 13-10]
- Phase 5: DOD (Red) [Bars 9-6]
- Phase 6: Combo (Prussian Blue + One of the other five colors based on which style the move comes from) [Bars 5-1]
*randomly can activate extreme heat mode and dragon heat mode (the one from Y5)

Not really, the 6th phase just allows Kiryū to make use of every move in a combo without spending a turn to change styles. For instance, he can do a Komaki Parry from the red DOD style, followed by a Relentless Barrage from the phlox Rush style.
His aura in this stage is mainly dark blue. However, his limbs, whenever he uses them for a move, will glow the color based on where the move comes from. For instance, when Kiryū does the Tiger Drop, his main aura around him is still dark blue, unlike red in the 5th phase, but his right arm glows red when he does the move. That’s my interpretation of the 6th phase.
However, I can see him using Extreme Heat as well, to which the aura around Kiryū would then become dark blue + the color based on what Extreme Heat style he wants to use:
- DOD’s Time for Fury: dark blue + red
- Reborn’s Time for Yinglong: dark blue + white smoke
- Brawler’s/Rush’s/Beast’s Time for Resolve/Godspeed/Destruction: dark blue + traditional azure/phlox/golden yellow.
This will only be done for a few turns, however, otherwise it will be way overkill for an RPG setting.

I have never fought any of the secret bosses in any Yakuza game, so watching this vid is a little pointless but I just clicked to say this thumbnail is hilarious LMFAOOO good stuff
The only secret fight i did have is the one in Yakuza 6 (mainly because it is the easiest to unlock) Now i have PTSD whenever i saw a roomba.
I think my personal favorite secret boss is Shin Amon in Judgment and Yakuza 7
The thing I like about them is that you can actually fight them and they don't have a bunch of bullshit moves that make it super annoying. And the Judgment Amon is a really fun fight despite the dip in frames and the same for Yakuza 7's Amon
shin is also the least rude amon

I've only fought a few Amons, and among those I think the Judgment one was the only one I actually enjoyed and didn't feel like a huge pain. I remember having a super hard time with the drones in 6, my first Amon, until I realized just how broken whatever the special mode was called in that.

What about Nadai's rematch in Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise where he instantly goes second phase as his dynamic intro?
Interesting suggestion, I've always thought of that one as a Premium Adventure exclusive substory rather than a secret boss.
Actually the most difficult Amon I fought was Juzo, just throwing stuff by Extracts.
Don't know in PS4/PS5, but there in Xbox One the gaunlet fighting agains Soma, Kuwana and Juzo it'll give you Juzo's extracts.
Celestial hit extract wicth spams rays into the enemys.
Ground crusher witch punching the ground cause an explosion.
And the Ritual Dance extract wicth it make a 24hr Cinderella flip and regain health and 1 bar of heat.

So amon in yakuza 0 was one of my least favourite fight in yakuza series.
With his bullshit cannon that oneshots and the helicopter stunlocking you with the chairs and tables he throws and and the invincibility potion mechanic was also very dumb, because you have to grab it first or run around the arena hoping to not get hit by a flying chair.
On the other side, its one of the easisest amon fights since you can cheese the fight by using brawler and using the 3x square and triangle move while being at 1 health, defeating him in less than 30 seconds, Jo Amon in Y0 however was amazing
Only secret boss this tier list is missing is the Blood-Drunk Master from The Kaito Files.
I discovered that in the first Judgment if you use the potion that you let's you pummel enemies onto the floor, and use against Amon. He'll get to his second phase and you won't loose your phone.

shin amon is probably my favorite only cause hes the only amon i actually fought cause you didnt have to do every substory (in 7) i fought the lost judgment one too but in the climax battles, that fight is nutty, but i hope in 8 they keep it to where we dont have to do all the substories, or at least dont make me do the minigames
I aint gonna lie, Judgment Amon fight is great… but also one of the more bs Amon fights. I do appreciate them for making pretty cool changes to the move-set and gimmicks, but the Amon mechanic where he steals your phone has gotta be one of the most annoying things ever lmao. Still a pretty cool fight regardless

I kinda really hoping Shin amon to have more screen time like jo amon but less lethal but with more friendly vibe. Shin's my favorite.
Interesting list! Personally, outside of OG Yakuza 1 and 2, because early combat systems, and 3, because TUUUUURTLLLLEEESSSS, I like all the fights. They all try something slightly different, which I like, and let's be honest, the fights are supposed to be bullshit, that's the fun part. Didn't play the Japan only games, however. Excited to see what Amon we get in Yakuza 8, whenever that shows up.
Early combat systems? Y2 amon is one of the better ones as well as the combat itself

Only Amons I beat, from the Kiryu games, were Jo in Yakuza 6 and scraping a win against Noa as Haruka in Yakuza 5.

What about Shin Amon in True Final Millennium Tower? He's difficult than the standard Millennium Tower cause he summons Evil Kiryu, Majima, & Saejima to fight along & even at Lvl 99 they're difficult unless you spam their weakness & debuff their attacks but it's still difficult fighting all 4 of the bosses.
I'd probably put that one a tier higher than the normal fight if we were to separate them
Not gonna lie I haven’t unlocked amon on any of the games im close with kiwami 2 but i suck at some the mini games. Also I really want them to remaster the samurai yakuza games I know the story is brutal but man I would buy them in a heartbeat

Quite pleased to see Judgment in S tier because that fight fuckin rules. Equally challenging and creative. Easily the best Amon fight and also the first time I replayed one for fun.
On the other hand, I thought Sango and Jo Amon from Yakuza 5 were awful. From my experience, they weren't challenging so much as they were boring and tedious. Between Sango levitating and Jo's heat mode, it felt like they were fights that were just designed to make you wait (not sure if there's a counter to either). It felt more like a war of attrition rather than a battle where one wrong move could net you a game over, Sango especially.
Personally I'd put 7's Amon a tier lower. He was super underwhelming to fight imo. The judgment Amons are the best. Especially Shin
I would too if we were just counting the normal version, but the fight with Amon in the True Final Millennium Tower where he summons Majima, Kiryu and Saejima at half health and spams insta-kill moves makes him a far better fight.
My favorite secret boss is Amon.
My only problem with lost paradise amon is that his 3rd stage is literally impossible without cheesing since he uses musou tensei lmao

Yakuza 0 Amons are the toughest for me, I just can't get through the disco dancing substories no matter what I do. The timing is just weird.
The disco substories are hell. But it's rng. I probably did Ogita 50+ times before I beat him.

@@destoroyahofhope4005 I also think that true shin is easy, since I played others JRPGs and have understanded the weaknesses of the Ghosts that he Summons at the midle of the Fight, and have leveled up some jobs to 50 I managged to beat him in my First try, my problem with the True Tower is the Tendo

If you don’t upgrade your heat with saejima jiro amon in 4 is awful to fight, the others were pretty doable. Also, why is Jo amon in kiwami 2 the easiest of the 4 brothers?!
