You left out the 1972 Mach III Kawasaki 500 Triple. I know that one can do 140 MPH because I did it.

His prices are way off! You can get a nice GS 1000 for way under 5K. An H-2 can now go for around 35-50K. Also I haven't heard of a Sporster going for that unless its a really rare model

I have seen some GS 1000s go for over $5000, but they were in really good condition. The Wes Cooly edition has om average $10,000 if you can find a real one. Makes me wish I still had mine. I have had 3. One C model and 2 E models. They were easy to work on and extremely dependable. That being said, 135 mph for a stock GS1000 is a stretch. They topped out at an honest 128. With some moderate modifications they were capable of 135 to 140. With a full race modification you could get 160 to 165, but then they would not be good on the street. For their era they were one of the fastest and had the best frame and swingarm of that era. Same with the clutch basket and transmission.

    It wasn’t.
It was a failure, and doesn’t even handle with modern rubber.
    Only luved by Homda enthusiasts.
