- Here at Bob-White Systems in Vermont we get a lot of questions from new
and less experienced dairy farmers about how to recognize when a cow is
milked out. As part of our Micro Dairy Management Series, Micro Dairy
expert Steve Judge demonstrates a number of methods you can use to make
sure your cows are done milking. It's part of our efforts to help dairy
farmers offer safe, delicious farm fresh milk directly to their local
customers.

Very nice video. Either it was edited nicely, you have the most courteous cows, or they knew they were on camera because I've never seen a group of cows get milked where none of them didn't have a bowel movement or urinate all over the floor. Nice job!
I have a little tip for you. I assume you have a tie barn. I put those curved galvanized basement window wells on the floor behind my cows when they spend time in the barn during the winter. They catch 80% of the splatter. They made a big difference in our barn. I think I show them in our "How to keep a Micro Dairy barn clean" video. I'll check.
very good brother keep up the good work
I have an agreement with my cows that they can't poop or pee ion the barn while they are being milked. Seriously - during the warmer months (no snow on the ground) our cows only come into the barn to be milked which takes about 20 minutes. They usually poop and pee before they come in the barn, while they are waiting to be let in, or when they go back out. Of course there are exceptions but that is generally the rule.
Can you make a living just milking 4 cows ? Where I come from its anywhere from 80 to 150 cows being milked
Awesome
I wish we could afford the milking machine! Bet the cow would love to be done quicker.
Pulsator is s-l-o-w !!!!
Can’t understand you
Sorry. Our videos aren't professionally produced so we rely on the sound in the video recorder and don't use a separate mic. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions you may have via email: steve@bobwhitesystems.com
Try using headphones.
Consider yourself very lucky then. It seems like I'm always spraying the splatter off the walls.
