Very good. I pointed out to my ex husband who is still a believer about the CSA and over-ups and lies and that he buries his head in the sand. But got nowhere. He was a college lecturer so I remarked that I thought he was intelligent so shut does he allow the JW’s to control him and why can’t he use his mind to do some research? I wonder and hope I gave him something to think about, having “ sewed some seeds”!

Excellent points. The best tool to make JWs think is to ask questions. If they think you are trying to "teach" something they will immediately shut down. To Lloyd's point...having these conversations isn't about YOU and your ego winning the argument, it's about THEM and helping them think honestly and objectivity about their religion.

These are pure genius. How great would it be for those of us who found a way out of this destructive cult to actually plant a seed that results in another person finding their way out because of two things - a thought provoking question and our kindness. Thank you for all you do for us, Lloyd ❤️

Here are some carefully crafted questions designed to gently challenge Jehovah's Witnesses and encourage them to think critically about their beliefs. These questions are respectful and intended to promote thoughtful dialogue rather than confrontation:
    ### Questions About Beliefs and Teachings
    1. **Questioning Beliefs**:
    - "If I were to question my beliefs and research them thoroughly, would that be a good thing in your opinion? Why or why not?"
    - Follow-up: "Shouldn't we all scrutinize our beliefs to ensure they are true?"
    2. **Research and Information**:
    - "If I wanted to learn more about your religion, should I look at only the official website or also independent sources? Why is that?"
    - Follow-up: "Is it wise to rely solely on information provided by the organization being investigated?"
    3. **History and Prophecies**:
    - "Has your organization ever made predictions about the end of the world or significant events that did not come true? How does your faith account for these?"
    - Follow-up: "How does Deuteronomy 18:20-22, which describes identifying false prophets, relate to these failed predictions?"
    4. **Exclusive Truth Claims**:
    - "Do you believe that Jehovah's Witnesses are the only true followers of God? What evidence supports this belief?"
    - Follow-up: "How can one verify that claim objectively?"
    ### Questions About Doctrine and Practice
    5. **Salvation and Goodness**:
    - "Is being a good person enough to survive Armageddon, or must one also be a baptized Jehovah's Witness? Why is that?"
    - Follow-up: "How do you reconcile the idea of a loving God with the belief that only Jehovah's Witnesses will be saved?"
    6. **Living in the Last Days**:
    - "What evidence do you have that we are living in the last days as described in the Bible?"
    - Follow-up: "Do you think life now is objectively worse than it was 100 years ago, considering advancements in medicine, technology, and human rights?"
    ### Questions About Organizational Claims
    7. **Authority and Changes**:
    - "Jehovah's Witnesses have made doctrinal changes over the years. How do you reconcile these changes with the belief that the organization is directed by God?"
    - Follow-up: "If God's guidance is perfect, why would there be a need for such changes?"
    8. **Communication with God**:
    - "When did Jehovah's Witnesses start being recognized as God's channel of communication, and what evidence supports this specific timing?"
    - Follow-up: "Can you provide any historical or scriptural evidence that clearly shows this transition?"
    ### Questions About Personal Reflection
    9. **Personal Doubts**:
    - "Have you ever had any doubts about your beliefs or teachings? How did you address them?"
    - Follow-up: "Do you think it's healthy to have doubts and seek answers, even if it leads to questioning the faith itself?"
    10. **Outside Perspectives**:
    - "How do you feel about listening to the perspectives of former Jehovah's Witnesses who have left the organization? Why do you think they left?"
    - Follow-up: "Is there value in understanding why people leave the faith and what their experiences were?"
    ### Respect and Openness
It's important to remember that these questions should be asked in a spirit of genuine curiosity and respect. Jehovah's Witnesses are often very sincere in their beliefs, and respectful dialogue is more likely to encourage thoughtful reflection than confrontational debate.
Would you like more detailed explanations on any of these questions, or do you have other topics you'd like to explore?

One time I saw witnesses with carts. I passed by smiling at them and one 'sister' offered me a watchtower publication. I took it and we had a conversation. I shosed her a picture of the elders book and asked her if she could sell me that book. She said she never saw that book before. Next to her was a man. I don't know if he was an elder. He was irritated and told me that this book was not for the public. Some weeks later I saw the same 'sister' with two other women. I told her, That meanwhile I got that book online, as pdf and showed her a page of it on my screen.
She looked at it. There was mentioned comittee and I asked her what that is all about. Then she admitted to me, that this book was just for elders and other persons are not supposed to read it... but she said it in a und and polite way. I told her that I find it very interesting and will read it anyway.

A few years ago I spoke with my father an elder of some 35+ years about why I no longer believe. Among many things discussed one was the long string of failed predictions and prophecies. He admitted these were true and knew of a few. I asked him what does the bible say about those that make prophecies in gods name and those prophecies don't come true. He said he didn't know. I asked him to use his app on his own phone and look up Duet 18:20-22. He wouldn't do it. I said, you can use your bible on your phone and read what god says about false prophets, he would not do it. Imagine that, an elder not willing to look up a scripture in his own bible on his own phone. He later told me that the organization has never claimed to be a prophet. I said, that may be true but what do you call someone who is not a prophet and still makes prophecies that ultimately don't come true? That was over 3 years ago and I'm still waiting for a response on that one.

I asked the brother if there would be any large polluting factories in this new Paradise. He firmly stated that God would do away with all the large polluting factories. I then looked at the picture of Paradise and asked the brother where all the plastic lawn furniture in the picture had come from. * If the Bible is the inspired word of God, why does your organization change its interpretation so often?
    * Why does the Watchtower discourage independent research and critical thinking about your doctrines?
    * How can you be sure that your organization is the only true religion when there are so many other sincere believers in the world?
    * Why did Jesus say that he didn't know the time of the end, yet your organization has repeatedly predicted it?
    * If salvation is only through your organization, what happens to all the good people who lived and died before the Watchtower was founded?

    Hello Lloyd,
I thought of an additional question that could be included in the 1st scenario to plant additional seeds.
That question is, "If I am forced to lie on behalf of my religion, would that be a sign of my religion not being true?" or something like that.
Basically, the thrust of this question is to plant the seed that having to lie for the organization does not lend itself to being a "true" religion.

Very well structured Lloyd, I couldn't help my grin escalating into soft laughter because I'm thinking that you were schooled very well by them😂😂. That prep before field service.
I don't mean the latter in an offensive way because I happen to be in tge same boat as you when I use the scripture interpretation in reverse to my JW family members. I'm just happy I never got to baptism, otherwise I would not have been allowed to exchange scripture interpretation with them.
😂😂 About two year's ago I was told jokingly by one of my cousin's "I think we must shun you anyway since you know more about the truth then most". Fortunately the shunning rule has changed.
Sometimes I can't help to think that because we humans are so complex that some churches and cult'ures befit our psychological profiles.
Tell you why; if you allow vengeance to grow in your heart but don't have the stomach to repay evil with evil you keep hopping for the day that your god would do the repayment.
Sorry I have so much on my mind and I jump from topic to topic on everything JW.

Great video Loyd, found in the past that family jw members will tell white lies to me and when held to the point would try to brush it off with we are all imperfect and like you stated squirm or maneuver away from the point I was making. Then go into "I'll punish you mode" by a soft shunning or stewing angrily. But great video with awesome advice.

I hope I can remember all of this for when they come knocking the next time. I always ask them why they continue to adhere to a religion that has a long history of proven false prophecies and refuse to follow the biblical teaching on false prophecies. They never give an answer but just quickly leave.

Good discussion, but my question is what is a good person, because we all have good and bad in us, we all sin and fall short of the glory of God, so there is no totally good person, so is not just about being a good person, it's about believing and having faith in Christ, believing Christ walked the earth, and died for our sins, which means loving God, and your neighbors as yourself, but not about being in a organization, I'm in no organization, but still believe in the father, son, and holy Spirit.

I wish I had watch this great video before my teacher, a JW elder, shunned me while I was a sincere non baptized JW student with bible reading privilegy at the platform, so that I could have make these specific questions to him when they (an old couple with some decades as JWs) were open to random questions at the end of our weekly study.
I was a JW student for a bit more than 3 years until I decided to stop attending all meetings, and to block at WhatsApp all JW contacts at once. I took this decision firmly at New Year's Eve 2022.

My recent reply to JWs at my door saying they wanted to “share the love of God with me” was, politely, “I respect you as individuals, but I have no respect at all for any religion. I was in it for decades but now I’m done with it.” They gave me a polite farewell and went on their way. I do see them as victims, so I don’t want to treat them as adversaries.

So pleased to see Lloyd back in action . I have been wondering how best to approach JWs , I do tend to lose it a bit when we touch on the topic of curation/ evolution. The calm non confrontational way is obviously a good approach. The JWs that have stands on street corners tend not to like entering into a dialogue , they are just standing around chatting and seem to slightly resent being disturbed! They just refer you to ‘the website’ or just state if you don’t want to listen to us just go away. The ones that know on your door can’t use that approach.

Hey, Lloyd, I liked these questions and they would certainly plant that seed, it seems to me, if the person is already in the org. A friend at work that uses Uber has said that her Uber driver won't shut up about how great being a JW is...while simultaneously offering her edibles, if you know what I mean. It turns out the Uber driver isn't baptized yet, but is just studying. She's completely eaten up with it, and has made statements about certain things she enjoys now, knowing she's about to have to give them up.
Anyway, my suggestion or question is what a good line of questioning would be to plant that seed in a person that isn't fully committed yet, but seriously contemplating it.
