No way lol. Just like others here, I'm amazed this exists. I've searched for all kinds of sheet music and played a lot of the Piano Collections across the series but never heard of this. This is a treasure trove of some of the best that I'd previously never been able to find.
Liberi Fatali is so awesome. Truly makes you realize songs don't need to be "stripped down" for piano. Just play every note in the score obviously lol. Out of all the piano opera pieces I've learned (Dancing Mad, Still More Fighting, Clash on the Big Bridge, Opening/Bombing Mission, and this), this is the hardest one. You truly don't have time to make conscious decisions, your muscle memory just has to be exactly right. Particularly, 18:26 to 18:33 is quite challenging. It is probably my favorite out of all of them, though.
Level advanced on these for sure... hope to be able to play something like this one day! So amazing! Thank you for uploading these scrollers.. I own all the piano collection sheet books but hadn't seen or listened to this one!
Opening tremelos in the bombing mission send chills down my spine. Absolutely beautiful and reason enough to learn the song. Will admit that the release at 36:41 is somewhat of a letdown, should have been more epic, but still an amazing arrangement. Funny how the hardest parts in these arrangements are ones you wouldn't think of being really hard. Those 4 chords at 37:37 to 37:38 on the right hand are super hard to play unmodified, at the speed indicated. Maybe I just need to practice more, but so far that is the hardest thing I've encountered in the song. Still haven't learned all of it though...
Wow!!! These arrangements are a lot more colorful and more difficult than the piano collections. As for 星降る渓谷(Cosmo Canyo) I think I like the piano collections versions better tbo
Why didn't I start learning the piano 30 years ago, when I was 6? I'd be able to play all this stuff now! Well, maybe. Now all I can do is shake my head in awe.
+Артём Смагин Some people may go further, but I think it's the farthest I could go to include it in a video. You can always google for it though, I think it's available. :)
+Dazom Bias maybe because XI is my favourite alongside IX, but XI has PLENTY of beautiful music to go into its own collection. Not to mention that it's actually still SE's most profitable game. I see X/XI/XII being the next one, then possibly XIII/XIV/XV at some later stage.
Does someone know how can I download this on my phone or buy it for the phone? Because it's quite old and I didn't found anything, and I need all three album on my phone :'(
+Leafa Rafaël Roses of May, at 33:59. I thought people would leave because they might not even have the patience to wait for that 14 seconds of silence, so I added this excerpt, though it's a bit strange when I review it now...
This whole arrangement might as well be the original score. Absolutely inspiring and empowering to solo pianists. Who needs the orchestra lol just play all the notes yourself
This score is out of print and is a nightmare to find. Sellers charging double what it was released for are selling out. I have even seen a copy on ebay sell for 250 usd. Basically if you didnt buy this score book before it went out of print hope your happy with pdfs. 😒
The piano operas for 1-6 are still readily available but 7/8/9 isn't for some reason. Similarly the piano collections for 11 and 12 are out of print as well. It's a shame. I recently had to shell out about 13 000 yen (110 usd) for 7/8/9, which isn't as bad as 250 usd, but it's still more than 10 times the original price.
26:11 - Anyone have any fingering advice for the right hand in this bar? Currently using 12, 4, 123, 4, 13, 124, 5, 124, 3, 12, 4 but it feels awkward.
IkranAhiyik It's more because of the last four notes/chords 124, 3, 12, 4, it's difficult to play that fingering quickly but maybe I just need to practice it more. I will give your suggestion a go though. Thanks.
123eldest I'm working on Festival of the Hunt now, and that bar has been giving me trouble. I do 12, 4, 123, 4, 15, 124, 5, 124, 3, 12, 4, but I was wondering what you do. Any advice would be appreciated :).
metroid1117 Hey, i'm using the fingering I mentioned, it just took a bit of practice to get my fingers used to that kind of pattern. 15 to 124 seems a little awkward I would definitely recommend 13 instead. The bar 4 bars after that is quite tricky too. What do you use for that?
It's not really "empty." Given the use of pedal, you could just as well write it as a measure of all tied notes from the previous measure and it'd be more accurate to what's actually heard. Either way, you have a lot to learn about music if you think silence has no musical purpose.

The arrangements are more difficult than any of the piano collections versions. Will be fun to tackle these on
No matter how you look at it - whether you know it was made for a game or not - it's magnificent.
Can't believe i just discovered this. I'm ashamed to call myself a fan of Nobuo Uematsu's music, yet i never knew this existed.
*Listens to all of it*
I swear to god Nobue Uematsu is one of the greatest composers of our time.
undoubtedly! but we must also highlight the great work of the arrangers and of course the wonderful interpreters!
Yes, Hiroyuki Nakayama is a heavenly interpreter

Thank you for posting this! I'll make sure to buy the sheet music.
Words Drowned by Fireworks gets me everytime
Holy just finished FFVII remake and now I can relate to the epicness of the pieces in this book.
Do you think any of that score stands up to these?
Oh my god, I have been waiting for so long! Thank you!

Thank you for making this video, it's amazingly refreshing to hear these new arrangements with the music in front of me :).
RESPECT TO ALL THE PROGRESSORS SENT FROM HEAVENS. WHAT WOULD WE DO
A perfect Album... 10/10

The best ff piano arrangements ever
I love Cosmo Canyon.

Never too late to start
I hope, one day, I'll be able to play at least one of these song !
Tremendas obras, lastima que mucha gente piensa que la música de video juegos es simple y de poco valor.
+Артём Смагин Some people may go further, but I think it's the farthest I could go to include it in a video. You can always google for it though, I think it's available. :)
Thank you so much !!
i've listened to the piano collections so often…why do I find the piano opera album just now???
Any place to get the sheets in printable form? Alternatively where to buy the booklet is appreciated.
UEMATSU GOD!
I can't find this in stock retail online anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find this book to purchase?
You ever find one? I havent seen one for sale either.
can you upload that sheet music's file for us?
Can't you share sheet music scans with me?
Is the next one 10/12/13?? I hope they skip 11, because I want 10 and 13 pretty bad and 11 wasn't really one of the conventional numbered
+Dazom Bias maybe because XI is my favourite alongside IX, but XI has PLENTY of beautiful music to go into its own collection. Not to mention that it's actually still SE's most profitable game.

can you please share these sheets? im dying to play these

+IkranAhiyik It got me interested :D.
This Liberi Fatali - is this the piano part from the original soundtrack?
This whole arrangement might as well be the original score. Absolutely inspiring and empowering to solo pianists. Who needs the orchestra lol just play all the notes yourself
does anyone know how to do the fingering for this run on bombing mission? 37:20 also the 2nd one in the different key?

I'm really not a big fan of that Melodies of Life arrangement
agreed, the FF IX piano collections version is far superior
The rest are better though, especially You're Not Alone
26:11 - Anyone have any fingering advice for the right hand in this bar? Currently using 12, 4, 123, 4, 13, 124, 5, 124, 3, 12, 4 but it feels awkward.
You feel awkward because the thumb is used too often in beat 1? I'd suggest changing the 13 into 25 to avoid the consecutive thumb usage.
IkranAhiyik It's more because of the last four notes/chords 124, 3, 12, 4, it's difficult to play that fingering quickly but maybe I just need to practice it more. I will give your suggestion a go though. Thanks.
Buffoon1980 Haha thanks, I've got it now though.

What is the point of the ridiculous empty bar at 35:05. Its not musical its just nonsensical
Eflatmajor A duration-specified barline pause. Well he didn't played for that duration, though...
+Eflatmajor Nothing wrong with it. He should have held it a little longer if anything.

Wish the arrangements were better, don’t do the pieces justice.
