My lower shifter does not fully go all the way onto the white female socket. The black spinning disk with the two end cylinders does not go far into the white female socket far enough is probably the issue.
If it is anything like the Shimano ST-EF40 combo shifters I have, no. On my shifters with the brake lever, the brake lever is essentially held to the metal brake lever body with a long rivet. The lever is not removable. If you want separate brake levers and shifters, you'll have to buy each separately.

My gear shifter Shimano st EF 41 shifter not working please tell me hoe to repair it how to remove wires .
Removing the wire should be easy, simply cut the end and replace it with a new one.
