I'm just listening to what they say unless I'm watching or something happens and I have to back up. If a scare happened, they would have seen it and I would have known but I haven't heard much so I don't think much happened anyway

@@Ylurple the more you keep hitting the buttons..you hear more about the lore on what happened to each smiling critter. I think there was 2 of them(someone can correct me if I'm wrong) where you're not sure cause they didn't have the same reaction as the others.
@@Ylurplejust normal video game logic. Like exhausting NPC dialogue until they repeat. If you play video games you'll learn to do that instinctively without the game explicitly telling you.

i'm not one to usually get worked up or mad at Arin when there's something blatantly obvious for him to do. I can just roll my eyes and laugh it off. However, the fact that he could hear the phone ringing, but couldn't see the phone on the wall because he kept spinning around the room like a lunatic, left me yelling at my computer "ARIN! FOR F*** SAKES, THE PHONE IS RIGHT THERE" XDXD For some reason that moment got to me.
That's what a lot of people do in games though. You're looking around for something trying to find what direction it's even in to begin with
It's sooo much easier with headphones and stereo sound because it give directional cues too. I reckon they're just using TV sound and so don't have the whole experience. They should really wear headphones for this one.

I definitely reccomend watching anyone else's playthrough of this first if you haven't seen it yet as it's phenomenal imo. Then after that you can properly appreciate how Arin is managing to miss all the best parts. It's legitimately impressive.

Jek Porkins and Biggs Darklighter both die during the Battle of Yavin. Jek was part of the first attack group assaulting the Death Star, and Biggs was part of the second attack group with Luke. You're thinking of Wedge Antilles who survives to eventually become the flight leader of Rogue Squadron before the Battle of Yavin, a position held by Luke Skywalker after the Battle of Yavin and before he left for Dagobah.

My first thought was Biggs and Wedge from Final Fantasy
The thing with those characters is that they had a bigger role in the original cut, no? Most of their scenes got axed because the "full" movie was a complete drag.

I mean, There were like two additional short scenes with Biggs just to cement that he and Luke were old friends from Tatooine, which makes his death hit a little harder for Luke. The first scene takes place on Tatooine at Toschi station and Luke hangs out with a few friends, one of which is Biggs, who says he's leaving to go to the Academy, and Luke complains that his uncle won't let him go this season. Biggs says something along the lines of "You'll get off this rock soon enough." The scene is like 2 minutes I think? The second is when Luke arrives at the Rebellion headquarters on Yavin right before the battle against the Death Star and he runs into Biggs there who says something like, "See, I told you you'd get out of there." Then Red Leader shows up and says, "Skywalker, you think you can handle a ship like this?" And Biggs vouches for Luke's skills, and Red Leader says, "If Biggs vouches for you, you'll do fine." Like 45 seconds. That's about it.
I don't believe Porkins had any additional role or screen time.
This was the chapter that got me invested in Poppy Playtime. What can I say? They knew my weakness was cute technicolor stuffed animals.
As a mother who’s 4 year old somehow discovered the smiling critters and is now obsessed with Catnap and co. I’m watching this with a new perspective to learn more about those little guys.
As much as I LOOOVE game grumps, they uhh,,, miss alot of the lore about all of them LOL I would definitely look at a few other videos as well

A recommendation for kids or anyone who likes the smiling critters and/or 80s/90s animation tributes; a youtuber I want to say is called Gemstin Productions does some fanimations that are insanely good for a one-man production, including a couple full-length smiling critters episodes that capture nostalgia perfectly, but are also like. Legitimately good children's television.
There's a few wink-wink nudge-nudges about the horror origin, but it's otherwise completely straight and actually pretty heartful. One is also legit the only good children's show episode about diet and exercise I've ever seen, with an actually good message about moderation in all things *including* dieting and exercise, and how different people need different routines. I was impressed.

I really hope they enjoy/ finish this game. I know there’s some sections that may take a few tries but god I would love to see them play the game in its entirety! Edit- I would be lying if I said it didn’t hurt a little when they walk by tapes or don’t listen to the cut outs 😂

So I work in retail, and this kid came up to my register with a catnap plushy. I know what the game is, and I wanted to engage with everybody at my register, so I said “that’s a cool toy you got buddy!“ The kid looked at me excitedly and said “do you know whocatnap is?!“ I looked at the parents, their eyes were glossed over like they had no idea what the kid was talking about, and I nervously, replied “yeah, buddy, I do.“ The kid didn’t even pause for a moment before exclaiming “he kills kids!“ I looked at the parents, they looked a little bit, embarrassed, but not even surprised. And the mom started stammering that they didn’t even really watch what their kids were watching or know anything about it, and it was for the first time in my life I wanted to yell at some parents. Like I know it’s partially the developers faults for marketing this shit so easily towards kids, but my god, parents!

The same thing happened to me when FNAF was becoming popular. I was curious and a little surprised on how we had toys being sold for kids.
So one day I was auditing a register (I was a manager) and I let one of my cashiers ring up this kid with his mom. They had the play sets where you put the pizzeria together. I said to the kid "let me ask you something cause I'm surprised you kids enjoy this". He was cool with it and was like yeah sure.
Me: This game doesn't scare you?
Kid: not really 🤷♂️
Me: Okay so you are aware that the game is about animatronics being possessed by the souls of dead kids who died in the pizzeria?
