OMG. You hadn't seen this performance? It's so damn good. 22nd song of the night. 14-year old Ale is falling down with exhaustion and still doesn't miss a note. They are born to rock!
You were wondering if they'd play at the Whiskky again... they held their album release show for Keep Me Fed there in June. Also, if I remember correctly, the owner said they have a standing invitation to play there any time.
What sets The Warning apart is the sheer dedication they had as teenagers, putting in hours and hours of practice every day, making the music a top priority, instead of running off with friends and skipping rehearsal time. It takes a lot of work to be able to play a Metallica cover at the Whiskey when you are age 13-18.
Sweet! Dany's showing off some chops on this one. Thie was a special request encore after a two hour show. Probably one of the last live performances of a cover not called Enter Sandman🔥🤘 Pretty sure this was without a click... just natural timekeeping by Ale and Pau
Ale was a star, after a 22 song set manager asked them to place Atlas Rise for him!!! Ale was 13 going on 14 and exhausted playing and was run down and needed some TLC after the event.
@@Thontor And she had been 14 for well over a month. 😁 January is that special month of the year when the age difference between each sister is 2 years. 😜
@@TheUnderdogDe Their Description says "Dany 18, Pau 16, Ale 13 from Monterrey Mexico", but they were 14, 16, and 18 for that show. This is the first time I've seen them get their ages (or at least Ale's age) wrong in the Description section of a video!
Zack, I agree that the musicianship was outstanding! I grrew up there, and played there twice. Many big name bands played there including Led Zeppelin, Traffic, Credence Clearwater Revival, Fleetwood Mac, the Doors, Love, Weather Report and many more. I'm sure our young ladies were aware of the history and felt honored to be playing there. Love The Warning!❤❤❤❤
@@mk2pr Yes. I haven't seen that in a while. She has a tiny little 8 inch cymbal to her left at times too. No doubt there'll be more changes to come in their long career....:)
Farking Banger!! I remember what I was doing at their age, and I sure wasn't playing a 2 hour sold out rock show, doing a special request of a long ass Metallica song for the venue owner! 🤯 After watching the 2017 Ted Talk, and Survive hooking me hard, This was the next video I seen, and it sealed the deal. Pau was 16 and Ale was 14. Their Descriptiion says "Dany 18, Pau 16, Ale 13 from Monterrey Mexico". This is the first time I've seen them get their ages wrong in the Description section of a video.
Pau used to have a closed hi-hat on the right side of her kit in addition to the fully functioning one on her left. IDK she still has that. I think she replaced it with the Pau-bell. In the very early days she had a cow-bell on the left side behind the hi-hat. Otherwise, the cymbal arrangement looks the same to me. Back in June they had a private show in the Whiskey for launching Feed Me Fed. I think that will be the only type of show they will be doing in the Whiskey in the future. You're right. They had too largeof a following now, especially in LA.
@@robertott1172 Those Gear Masters episodes are over a year old now. Things have changed. Dany didn't have the Strats. Ale didn't have the blue bass. Pau's drums have been tweaked.
Actually Dany is playing a Manson guitar. If you watch the full episode at the Whiskey and pause it towards the end. You can see Manson on the headstock.
TW has performed The Whiskey 5 times, I believe, so there is great footage of two that I know of. In Jan. 2020 they played back to back sold out shows there. Ale's bass sounds great in the mix.
They've played the Whisky 4 or 5 times? Debuted the release of the KMF album there in June this year. I think they pretty much have an open invitation to play the Whisky.
Dany is playing a matt black manson guitar here . I think that soon after this performance , the guitar was auctioned off to help pay for the making of their Error album .I think that it made about $20,000 dollars , but not 100% sure .
*Atlas Rise* DPA/TW played this cover of *Atlas Rise* at the Whisky A GoGo's 55th anniversary, 24 Jan 2019... it was the last song of a 2 hour gig with 22 songs played... the manager of the Whisky is a huge Metallica fan and the girls decided to do this cover for them... they originally played it in The Warning Cave (video available) several years before... they played it at this show with a few days practice and completely knocked it out of the stadium! you can tell Ale is worn slap out but powers through to the end... i can't say that i blame her... And Pau beating the hell out of her kit while still singing so well, she's not doing and easy in the pocket beat either, she is thrashing those drums. How they have all this stamina after a 2 hour show is beyond me, they are just incredible in everything they do.
They played a music industry-invite show at the Whisky when Keep Me Fed dropped, but you’re right they would sell out that venue for an open show in a few minutes. 😎👍
There are so many opportunities to eff this song up. And DPA just SLAYS this. One day I hope to see them onstage with Metallica shredding this and their version of Enter Sandman!
Speaking of smaller venues, WDHAFM in New Jersey just recently put out videos of a 4-song set they did in a parking lot. Really cool stripped down versions of some of their songs.
Dany is playing a Manson guitar here. The guitar was signed by all the band members and was the prize for a donation of $92,500 pesos (about $4,756 USD at today's exchange rate) as part of a Kickstarter fundraiser to help pay for the production of their third album and their 2020 North American tour (before the COVID pandemic canceled both events). The ladies' goal was to raise $30,000 USD and they ended up raising about $171,500 USD. I posted a comment with a link to the kickstarter page earlier but UA-cam blocked it. Rick Toone did provide two guitars to Dany, but it wasn't the one she is playing here.
This one is pure Fire Zack..🔥🔥. I think the owner of Whiskey requested this one after a grueling 2 hour set. You can see Ale is about to keel over from exhaustion but being a true Rock Star carries on...they are quite incredible. Cheers
Pau's drum kit is here is pretty much the same layout as it is now, aside from that splash cymbalto the left of her hi-hat, which is now directly in-line and above the hi-hat. We just don't seem to see the overhead shot like we do here.
@zack_reacts Hi Zack, I was pertaining more to your comment that it looked like Pau had more cymbals then than she does now. I was stating that she has the same amount now. Anyways, would you be interested in going to The Warning show this upcoming Tuesday at the Glass House Concert Hall in Pomona? There will be a big get-together of the TWA as well as a handful of other prominent reactors who are also big fans of The Warning. One of the O.G. TWA members are putting on a pre-show get-together and BBQ. I believe he's messaged you as well. I randomly sent you an Instagram message on this, too. It's probably too short a notice, but we're just throwing it out there. There may be a concert ticket offered in as well. These tickets were selling for more than $200! Let us know!
They could probably out play most adult bands. This was the surprise encore after an exhausting set. It takes MAJOR chops for teens to plow through that after 21 other songs. Of course, this is just a few months after the release of *Queen of the Murder Scene.* So they would have played that and numerous songs from *21st Century Blood* prior to *Atlas Rise.*
I was the same way when I started playing drums two kick drums 10 cymbals 8 Tom’s man it took up a lot of room then years later I down sized so I get it.
They ain't playing The Whiskey anymore except for special occasions like their album release private party. They sold out 1600 capacity in LA in 15 minutes after public sale began. Next time, even a venue like The Wiltern is likely too small. Maybe The Greek Theatre?
3:25 Pau's extra cymbals are status symbol cymbals. To put it simply, symbol cymbals are a big deal among drummers. Apologies. Bad puns are a weakness of mine. I'll see myself out...
