NARRATIVE OF EVENT
Sunday, August 23, 2015 I was invited to The Annual Baptism & Communion of The Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church. They have had a tradition over the past 60 years of baptizing their new members in the Mississippi River in St. Louis. The services were moving and inspirational and I hope the pictures that I was able to take will portray what I experienced that day.
At the baptism there were about 300 to 350 people. They had 12 people who were baptized for this year. During the baptism we sang songs of the church and it was quite moving. In the afternoon service, at the church they had soloists who sang like 45 minutes as the church in sections were escorted downstairs in sections to give the hand of fellowship to the new members. Once that was over, communion was served to the church body. Watt Hymns were also sung.
I hope you can capture the Spirit I witnessed in the House of GOD as I photographed the experiences. Yes I am a amateur but I have always enjoyed taking pictures.
I am using a NIKON D-5300 (18-55mm Lens) and a (70-300mm lens.) ENJOY
My grandfather Rev Manuel was a pillar of this church. RIP

I enjoyed watching...thanks Bro Evester Floyd for sharing these Precious Memories. So thankful that God has allowed me to witness Rising Star baptisings since 1956 when my family became part of this great Church. So thankful that God gave Rev Sherman Glover the charge to set up this Church and to qualify and guide him every step of the way. Anything good about me derives from the teachings I was blessed to receive at Rising Star MB Church. Thanks to the Almighty God for His Grace, Mercy, and for making it possible for us to be born again and enjoy being part of a beautiful spiritual family that will live on forever in the hearts and minds of those who decided to be part of this blessed Church family. #Precious Memory. #God is good all the time.
