Interesting stuff. Small mistake at 0:30, though. The unit of measurement of acceleration is m/s^2 (not m/s).

What is shown is correct. He's saying that the javelin is accelerated up to a speed of 30 m/s, so the release speed is 30 m/s.

Oh, that's true - my bad. Quite an acceleration, from approx. 0 to 30 m/s in 100 ms.
