When my kids were little, they each got their own wrapping paper. I didn’t tell them which was theirs until Christmas morning. It kept them from snooping 😂
I still do that, and they are teenagers and older. This year I did not have enough of the same paper and they were disappointed because they had to "figure out our gifts"
I love to wrap gifts. I like to use brown craft paper, draw figures or scenes, color with crayons then out line with black Sharpie maker. The crayon has such a great texture on the paper. Friends and family look forward to receiving them each year. Thanks for sharing this great video 😊
Don't use wrapping paper or gift bags. I use gift boxes and stack them in ascending order so each member of the family receives a tower of gifts tied together with a beautiful bow. No mess quick and easy and looks beautiful around the tree
I like to use reuseable fabric gift bags. I made a bunch a few years ago. I bought several patterns of Christmas fabric on sale and used my sewing machine to make bags, but you could probably get away with using hot glue. Each gift bag has a ribbon draw string at the top. The nice thing about the fabric bags is that they can be used over and over again for years. And since I have several patterns and sizes they look beautiful under the tree.
@@robinsouthern9904 Didn't really have a pattern. Just folded the fabric and seamed the two sides. Then folded over the top a bit and sewed it in place, leaving a small opening on each side. Then I threaded ribbon through one side opening right around and out the same space and knotted the ends. Repeated through the opening on the other side.
Hi Shannon, It's 10/21 at 7:35 am I watched this before going to work. Today I work late so can go later in the morning. I have a thing for ribbons and buttons and I am known for that. I never finished it in time for Christmas last year but, my Mom's place curtains has never had a swag and I bought wide about 4 inch gingham ribbon last year and hand sewn large white faux pearls on it. Long process but looks cool. I am going to take the curtains to the cleaners to have them extra nice before hanging in my living room. I am getting ready for my annual Holiday Craft Sale this Thurs Fri and Saturday att at a large house in Alexandria, VA. This is the hosts 47th year. It's my 5th year selling and I have been a shipper there since 1991. My sister this year is one of the crafters so excited. She made LOTS of soaps in pumpkins gingerbread men Christmas trees deer snowflakes. All the years past I made jewerly and gift card holders made with wide ribbon wire and embellishments. I sold the gift card holders for $6 and sold all but 4. Yesterday I stood in my very tiny kitchen each part of the counter was a diff station for ribbon embellishments and wood. This year I am making just ornaments and wood gift tags. I purchased from Target cup trees. I ran short on wood red beads so after church with my Dad he went to Home Depot and I ran to Michaels (same mall) and we met at Red Robin for lunch. I am so happy you said the red wood beads you found at Dollar Tree I will run up there on my lunch hour. I could only get 1 stran at Michaels's. There were 2 but I thought someone else will need that. I love your loom I make tassels by hand but with lots of materials nice if you have a helper tool. I scent this video to my nephews girlfriend in NYC. She is the Queen of Ribbons too he said last Christmas. In closing, my grandmother lived in a 1909 house in Front Royal, VA her winter months just an hour from us. Kind of rural in her area with bears and deers etc. She had a back door and a front door. She had very old rusty large bells from the Christmas trees she could only have on the front porch as my Mom had terrible child hood asthma and they couldn't have the trees inside. My Grandma had saved 2 jingle bells and she tied one into each door knob in her Front Royal house incase someone ever tried to break in she would hear them jungle. I inherited the bells to use as I like and in my first apartment in my own I had one on the door knob to the front door and one I hung on my mantle. I prefer wrapping to gift bags, I love to wrap gift, especially at Christmas time! All the different patterns and Christmas movie/tv characters, and the way some paper actually sparkles! They’re all so pretty! 🧑🏻🎄🎅🏻🎄☃️🎁🎁🎁
I use both. I start out wrapping everything in paper with bows and ribbons then by the end of my wrapping I start using bag’s because I’m tired and done with all of it 😂

Such pretty ideas with ribbon! I think there’s good news re: Cricut - I believe they set it to default to mirroring when choosing HTV & infusible ink for the project material with a recent update to Cricut Design Space. I definitely prefer wrapping & when possible, making it pretty. It’s so much more fun to open presents that are wrapped but sometimes I combine both & put some wrapped gifts in a gift bag along with unwrapped. It’s also so fun to disguise an easy to guess gift when wrapping 😊.

I'm not grest at wrapping gifts, my husband does that but sometimes I just use gift bags with tissue paper on top. Brilliant ideas that I'll certainly be doing. I live in a retirement complex for independent living and Ive got a group of women who want to take part in decorating the communal lounge. I'll be using your tutorial to inspire them. PS: I use gift bags for the girls at my job in other departments. I am the only female in the parts dept. For family I love boxes and other cool things to put gifts in and I'm all about gift rap because I buy a large doll and it can last for 2 Christmas and I use it in crafts too. I do not buy bows for the top but I make ornaments to add to the top of gifts. As a child the same Grandma in NJ wrapped our gifts up in the NY Times Cartoons and we always thought my grandma was poor. Until later in life found out they were super rich and she was just very frugal with my Grandpa being a very staunch man from Sweden and WWII Navy man. He owned his own construction company and he would hold the mortgage for many of the people he built homes for and they would pay him direct at a cheaper interest than the banks had. I wish I had saved the funnies from the 1960s would have been cool.
I usually wrap presents. I do a different theme each year. Christmas characters ( Grinch, Snowman, Santa, etc). Another is doing all black/ white papers and ribbons. Also, all red and green papers/ribbons, a third year.
Ooh, I want one of those tassel looms. I'd probably just have to use my hands, since I don't think any of the craft stores here sell them, sadly. Will try not to cut my hands to, uh, ribbons.

I use both wrapping paper and bags depending on the gift. I love the paper tree with the ribbon loops.
I wrap Christmas gifts and try to make them fancy and pretty. Most other gifts throughout the year I use a gift bag with fancy tissue paper.
