Thanks for the update well done, and much appreciated! I recently installed my 70mai S500 2-CH in my pickup here in Canada. Chose to use the RC12 rear camera meant for the 70mai A810 (which I also own) so we could mount it on the truck's vertical rear window, working perfectly fine so far. The only real gripes I have are (in no particular order... 1) Only 2.4GHz WiFi 2) No GPS 3] Getting correct front camera viewing angle means mirror is essentially useless in my case, though I have it set so a quick top on the screen allows me to see what's going on in the rear 4) The area where the SD card slot is recessed makes accessing card very difficult, w/o using a pair of tweezers or unmounting the mirror that is. 5) Power port is Micro USB instead of Type-C. 6) Not a huge fan of the front camera's 4.3 aspect ratio. Yeah a few gripes alright yet considering price paid were OK with it... I also run a Viofo in the front and another 70mai in the rear both 2K, so we are covered.
Is it good for blocking high beam glare at night ? Because I would like to use this as my rear dash cam view and I had bad experience with previous dash cam from Wolfbox as they tend to spread light all over the dashboard.
Hi Travel tech, can I still use this if the car already comes with a rear camera? I don't need the parking assistance via the dash cam but find the live rear view convenient when all 7 seats of the car are occupied. Confused between S500 and A510 for my xuv700. Please advise.
Ofcourse you can still use it even if your car already has reverse camera. And as you pointed out, this will be very convenient when all seats are occupied. It will be perfect for large sized cars such as XUV700. Get here: amzn.to/3ZHHHoM
Ok. It must be the ADAS sensor module. That shouldn't be an issue as you can manually rotate the camera lens downwards. Although it won't completely remove the box from the view, but will be sufficient to give you the proper view in front of the car.
Thanks for the detailed video. THe description says fully laminated screen, which means when the screen is off you can't see the bezel like in our smartphone. Is it so or is the display greyish and the bezel is black (which means there is an air gap between digitizer and touch screen)? How is the glare/reflection during day time? Does the rear camera come with 3M sticker for sticking it on the windscreen? Could you also tell me the width of the screen after extending the camera? My IRVM is 10.25" wide and want to know whether it will fit. Thanks!
Yes you cant see the bezel except when the display is on. Currently it doesn't have CPL filter, so it will catch some dashboard reflections and sunlight glare. The rear camera does get a 3M sticker tape. I don't currently have the camera with me to accurately provide details about its width. You can enquire with their service support.
@@traveltechyoutube Thanks, I saw you other video wherein it was mounted on the Honda WRV. If you still have that car, can you tell me the width of your IRVM please?
I’m almost decided on going with the 70mai A510 after doing a lot of research. While the concerns around lithium-ion batteries seem a bit overhyped, there are still some valid issues. The battery will likely need to be replaced after 1-1.5 years, and unfortunately, according to Nextdigitron customer care, you can’t replace it yourself. You’d need to send the device to them, pay a fee, and wait for the replacement. Even if you manage to replace it on your own, I couldn’t find any reliable sources for replacement batteries specifically for the 70mai dashcam. Does anyone know how this works? Are these batteries readily available on the market, and can they be replaced at home? Sending the dashcam to the service center every year sounds like quite a hassle. Any advice would be appreciated!
You can get it installed at any local car accessories shop. Or you can meet me and we can install together 🤣 Amazon is reliable, you can purchase from it.
Do yours have a yellow screen at night especially when it's completely dark behind ? The screen on mine is very yellow background when no light behind but even if there is some light the screen is still yellow tinted like
@traveltechyoutube I've just installed the hadwire kit and I'm very disappointed I've done some tests and if I move the car when it's of it starts recording right after I move it and that's completely useless Even a cheap dash camera saves around 1 minute before an incident Besides the video quality I'm not impressed with this camera
One quick question: Can the Dashcam be used as an IRVM when its switched off and will it automatically switch on to reverse mode while reversing the vehicle.
Can wind shield camera be connected to infoment screen so that we get a proper view from rear? besides does rear camera has to be connected to the internal wiring?
Yes you can connect to infotainment screen if the app is supported on the system. But there will be a lag of 2-3 seconds. So cannot use for practical purposes. Only for reference. Rear camera connection needs to connect to internal wiring to recognise when car is put in reverse gear.
Connection to car's internal wiring is not compulsory. It's only done if you want the dashcam to show you guide lines on the display while taking reverse and to automatically shift to reverse camera view when you engage the reverse gear. If you are okay that the dashcam won't display rear view automatically (you can do it manually anytime) and don't want reverse guide lines on the display, you don't have to connect with the car's internal wiring.
I want to install for slavia base variant but i have one doubt will it lapse warranty if parking light wires are touched. Second pot holes makes emergency accident collision footage..so please help to finalise especially for reverse camera
If wires are cut, it will void warranty. But if connections are done without cutting any wire, warranty will not be void. But there is still 1 more point you have to understand. For that, watch this: ua-cam.com/video/XEPeijhTyHA/v-deo.htmlsi=e9p78KBNS15A5qN0 Reduce the sensitivity of the G sensor. It won't record emergency videos on potholes.

Hi Travel Tech, I love your content! ❤️ I’ve narrowed down my dashcam options to two within my 15k budget. I was leaning towards the 70mai A510, but I found out it uses lithium-ion batteries instead of capacitors. Thirdly, battery based dashcams have been in sale in India since many years, and there hasn't been any incident reported anywhere regarding dashcam blowing up or buying out. Atleast I haven't come across any report as such till date. So bottom-line being, the concern regarding battery in dashcams is overhyped and unwarranted. That being said, no electronic device/gadget is completely flawless/foolproof. At one or other point of time, every electronic device will stop working or start creating issues. Dashcam, smartphone, tv, fridge, washing machine, AC, doesn't matter. All these devices including battery based dashcams get 1 year warranty. So if in case you face any issue, it can be replaced free of cost (within a year). So go ahead, get the A510. Happy driving! 👍🏻
