No satisfaction in the work for the people
Now songs of happiness echo out of the windows of houses in the face-lifted streets in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic People´s Republic of Korea. Looking at the increasingly happy people, we warmly remember the efforts of the great Kim Jong Il who devoted his all to the people throughout his life. One day in May Juche 78 or 1989 the great Kim Jong Il visited the Kwangbok Street. He beamed all over his face, Looking at the high-rise apartment houses standing in rows including tower-, folding screen-, cylinder- and wing-styled ones. After a while he quietly said the dwelling houses newly built in the Kwangbok Street were excellent and on a very high level. Then, very pleased with the modern houses built for tens of thousand families, he repeatedly said it was a radical change and the people would like them.In order to give him greater joy, officials told about the department store, shops, schools, nurseries, barber´s shops, bathhouses and other public service establishments built in the Kwangbok Street. Carefully listening to them, he looked round at the street, and said, there could be no satisfaction in the work concerning the people´s living and proposed building more dwelling houses for 30,000 families until the 80th birth anniversary of the fatherly leader President Kim Il Sung. The officials were deeply moved. All people were pleased with the new street as large as a town, but Kim Jong Il was planning to build a larger number of better dwelling houses for the people with parental affection. Officials said to themselves: "Indeed, our General is the benevolent father who does not know satisfaction in the work for the people." Afterwards, the Thongil Street as large as a town was built with dwelling houses for tens of thousand families and public service amenities necessary for the people´s living. Modern high-rise apartment houses for the people are being built in the capital city Pyongyang today, too, changing its appearance and making the people happier day by day.
