0:10 subnautica is actually surprisingly easy in this scenario. Nobody’s forcing you to leave the safe shallows and other easy areas so you can enjoy a peaceful life in a base :)

The sad thing is that if we're talking realistic subnautica, you'd basically have to speed run the game (including the story and the hard bits) because you're being slowly killed by Kharaa.
You know its a good game when you have played it and get giddy at the thought of someone else experiencing it for the first time

Fact is, I swam to the Aurora, no sea glide, no xray suit, not even aware leviathans exists. There I am, Finding nice things in sand and scanning them, looking for an entrance suddenly, I see a big "fish" never swum so fast. I indeed found like 8 Cyclops parts.

Mine was different I was more concerned with geting loot when it exploded I got my seamoth went there to go fix it first trip was fine didn't even hear a roar got the blueprint for the gravity gun or whatever second trip after geting it well let's just say I no longer have a sea mouth and I'm stranded on the arora (few days later when I finnaly get a prawn suit and gear it up and got me some revenge)
I once got attacked by a reaper while exploring the aurora, unaware of the radiation
I tried to run away from the radiation and found a reaper, first hit dropped my health very low, then the reaper approached to hit me again but i died from the radiation, the guy must have been angry cause next thing i see, a reaper is swimming around the safe shallows near the life pod
I was lucky I didn't encounter a Reaper ( I was in a seamoth)
1:04 can confirm, below zero was actually my introduction to subnautica, when I ended up playing the first game, it was way easier than below zero even if some things I love were sadly missing
Huh, that's interesting, I figured the perspective would be like this, but the surprising part was that Below Zero had things you liked and missed in Subnautica.
In the last game I played, I would be with an Texas genius, a German mad doctor, a Boston speedy boi, a french spy, a Australian assassin that pee in jars, a pyromaniac, a Russian bear that is human, a Scottish demolitionist that is drunk most of the time, and a American John doe who thinks that he is a actual soldier

Fun fact : once you let a cuddle fish out of your base to play with it. It gains double the health of a reaper leviathan. Becoming the tankiest creature in the game by far.
Oh, that's why it never dies when I accidentally run into it with my cyclops

I finished subnautica in 10 hours cause i was extreamly lucky with cyclops blueprints and i got a ton of copper early on
im 20 hours in and i dont even have a cyclops yet

My first run was like 60+ hours long. My second run was about 15. My first Below Zero run was also around 15 hours long.

I remember the first time I discovered that there’s reapers in front of the aurora and not just the back.
I stoped playing for a bit.
My suggestion to the developers make multiplayer a unlock for when you beat the game once at best you get people enjoying the experience the first time through and getting the terror of being along and the second time through they enjoy it with a friend and get to watch them be terrified giving them another great experience and at worse the speadrun community sky rockets
The problem is the game code is so messy and not adapted to multiplayer that it would require the entire game to be remade from scratch.
But if you want, there are mods that attempt to add a multiplayer mode, they are not perfect but you need to start somewhere.

I remember my first time i played subnautica, it was so beautiful and i thought it was a peaceful endless game where you explore he ocean, i loved the shallows and spent there alot of my time, but one day i saw an edge behind the aurora. Im still surprised i didn’t see a reaper leviathan or hear one going there. I was in my seamoth going down like “hey! This place is cool!”

Why tf would you go down there!? I was more terrified of not seeing the bottom than any of the creatures.... but the reaper leviathan was also bloody terrifying. Also thats a very interesting scream, mine went more like this:

If I got stuck in the last game I played, I would be experimented on by scientists because that game takes place 10000 years after humanities extinction and a new race of cephalopod-human hybrids that evolved to live on land are now the new dominant species and society. The society in that game is almost identical to ours though so even if I was experimented on, there would be protests to me being experimented on lead by many ink/octolings. Yes, it's Splatoon. Yes, that game doesn't show much of the cephalo-ling societies in game but it shows much about it in the sunken scrolls and merch like HaikaraWalker

clicked here just to comment, DST players gonna have it rough, BUT, their year is only 70 days, 20 days of autumn, 15 days of winter, 20 days of spring, and 15 days of summer, so all in all it'd be pretty easy on them (also, time works differently in that world, it moves much faster canonically, so added bonus you're gonna spend barely any time there

@@Heidijackward never been a problem for me, I can kill dragonfly solo with a hambat, 2 football helms, and 5 pierogis without lag, but you don't HAVE to fight most of if not all the giants, remember, you just have to survive, not beat the game, so any cave bosses are basically out of the picture, your first autumn wont have any of the main giants, winter has deerclops, its an easy kite, get 5-6 hits, then move to the side as the attack begins, repeat, easy kill, WAY faster than it used to be, boom, eyebrella for spring, get a morning star, a log suit, and eyebrella on and go bully meese/geese, get ~40 down feathers, boom, protected from summer overheating, for summer either feed antlion tributes or avoid the sinkholes, as for food, trap a rabbit, go to the pig village, feed dead rabbit, start a pig war, collect all the meat, make meatballs as most characters, as wendy or webber... you know where the meat will come from

Every time I plays subnautica I get the feeling like I did the first time I played(at least when I don’t use cheats) I feel pure terror. Subnautica has given me a fear of open water.

I totally have the same mindset for the meme at 06:15. I see a chelicerate leviathan and all I think is "what an oversizes shrimp that is."
I then proceed to continuesly electrocute it, tricking its AI into a corner of the map, before continuing to electrocute & ram it with my seatruck until it died. Lost 48% durability, but it was worth it.
I last played teardowd sandbox mode, and I’d only do it if I could keep all the mods. I could fly around picking stuff up with my gravity gun and throwing it, I could use an excessive amount of military grade explosives, I could have a giant minigun called the annihilator, and so much more.

I remember back in like 2019 when I played subnautica, for the first time. I killed the reaper leviathan near the crash site with a survival knife and then bumping into another and just leaving becaise it took 10 minutes of swimming after the tail of the leviathan and hitting at the same time before he died.

I know how to play subnautica without fear what you do is figure out a way to not get terror vibes because the biggest roadblock for subnautica player is themselves and the terror within them so if you can find a way to get rid of that terror then you won't be afraid to play subnautica

I would just start by spawning and breaking something drift wood, then I would make tools and a campfire, then I would kill animals for meat to use the campfire. One time I got saved by the air thing that makes you rise to the surface like 2% faster.
I had just started and got to the jellyshroom caves. The crab snakes grabbed me twice and I had barely any oxygen. By the time I made it to the surface my screen had been completely black for at least 1 second.
I had an experience where I was out of food and water in the jellyshroom caves, I had no idea what to do, but then like two fish swam by and I realized I could eat them. I spent several minutes trying to grab them, thought all hope was lost, but I caught them, ate them, and got out of there alive.
Last game I played was Darkwood... I'm knee deep into eldritch horrors now.
