About Karai palettes 9 and 11, my guess (and it really is just a guess) is that they are based on Aska from SNES Tournament Fighters (not an exact match but it does have the yellow-ish wraps around the arm and legs) and Shredder from possibly NES Tournament Fighters or the first NES TMNT game (though again, they are not exact matches).
I honestly just thought that Usagi’s 3rd palette with his green hilted katana was from his 2003 appearance in the 2003/2nd Ninja Turtles cartoon series where he had a lot more appearances in that Ninja Turtles cartoon since how little he did in both the 1st and 3rd Ninja Turtles cartoons since he had only two episodic appearances in the first, and three episodic appearances in the third, while the second gave him a good single handful in TMNT 2K3 of course 8:34. I mean… is that seriously not what Usagi’s 3rd color palette is based on at least?…
Given how aerial focused Usagi's gameplay is, I like to imagine the red patellae is also a reference to the Red Vergil you fight in DMC3 when playing as Vergil, or you could just use as an alt skin.
Karai's palette 11 is *definitely* a reference to Shredder on the NES. I played TMNT 2 on NES *a lot,* often skipping straight to the Technodrome. It's not a 1:1 match, but I'm confident that's what it's referencing.
I feel like it was a huge missed opportunity for Karai to not have a pallette based on Aska from SNES Tournament Fighters. Always loved her and wish she'd been referenced in other things.
I hope we get a Shredder’s Revenge sequel with more new characters (want to see the Punk Frogs, Renet, and maybe a female turtle as playable characters)
Hey dont count this game out yet. Have they announced theyre done adding characters? How cool would it be to get Jenna, the wolverine claws female turtle?
Disappointed yet again, because Sonictoast doesn’t realize “Mutant Madness” Karai was based on Genesis Tournament Fighters Karai, while Shredder’s Revenge Karai, although looks more like her 4Kids iteration, is doing an idle pose taken directly from the SNES version of Tournament Fighters.
It also appears that Mona Lisa's Hot Head-like palette is the only one that changes the color of her attack animations. Most of the marks from Mona's attacks except for Super attacks are pink, but in this color they are blue. Hot Head also appears in Survival Mode at the Bridge location in the Edo Dimension.
Really wish they did the Mirage comics for the turtles with all red headbands (and green skin/brown shells) - there are several skins for them that are all the same color, so it would have been just as difficult (aka easy) to tell them apart
Too complicated of designs to narrow down color schemes or details ppl could identify on such simple character sprites, plus the bay turtles were so muted color wise. Also the movie was a big bomb. Cool if u like it, but kinda hard to make a case for it taking up a palette when we’re spoiled for more recognizable, and popular, choices
07:45 The cowards should have referenced her Rise PAL. Guilty Gear games change characters skin colors all the time and people don't mind. The more options the better.
Each character has a couple unlocked right from the get go, play through survival mode with each character, rank them up to 10 & beat Paradox Super Shredder & bam, every palette unlocked, just do it 11 times cuz u gotta do it for everyone
2:14 Ever heard of _Super Ooze Mutagen_ toy line? 16:20 The NECA S.M. version of Super Shredder still has visible traces of purple paint to match _The Secret of the Ooze_ movie appearance. "Paradox Shredder" - as he's called in game files - does not.
@@JinXMoon Rise had the wackiest fight animations, improved Raph's design aspects, and did away with that edgy tone the series is known for which imo is a bit dull to me.
@@otaking3582 All the designs are super-deformed in ways that don't feel appealing anymore. It tries to be marketable to families, but the result ends up being some antithesis to the whole franchise. The TMNT's always fight with and against characters of all shapes and sizes, but that particular diversity feels lost. As for the movie, it wasn't bad, but that doesn't mean anyone should instantly buy toys just for seeing it.
I 🥲 i just can't believe that Mona Lisa and Mondo Gecko just show's up out of nowhere thank you so much DotEmu i will never forget this🥰 And to rant on the og cartoon I'm still to this day so pissed that Mona only got ONE SINGULAR EPISODE! Back then, i mean c'mon she could have at least lived with the turtles, and maybe reunited with her high school friends and tell them what happened to her, plus Captain Filch could have easily returned for revenge, with help from Krang and Shredder. And become Raphael's girlfriend to boot.

I'm guessing that Karai's 9th pallet is Aska from the SNES version of Tournament Fighters.
Given the promotion his figure was tied to, maybe the black-suited Shredder should be called SOUPer Shredder! 😂

According to some of these comments the NES palette may just be that

The NES version of Karai looks similar to the SNES Touney Fighters Aska. Same color scheme, at least. Could be a reference?

Ok?
@@cappytan7694you obviously don’t understand

I just want to know who on the playmates creation line made slash look like that.

Thank goodness. I was waiting for someone to make this video.
I bought this game day one on the ps5, but I can't find anyone playing online. So where the hell is everyone playing at?

I think the 5 skin for the turtles and splinter are based on their 2007 designs. I think Casey was too.
Wow. Two TMNT videos in one Turtle Tuesday. 🐢 🐢 🐢 🐢
7:49 basically Megan Fox
Mondo’s NES style reminds me of Leatherhead’s palate from the NES Games.

The fact that they added Rise recolors makes me so happy. I just believed it was another pariah of TMNT
Why would you be happy for the second worst depiction of the turtles? (first is mutant mayhem)
