- Day 28, August 5 2017.
Hello Everyone, I thru hiked the Pacific Crest Trail last year in 2017 and these are my videos from my amazing adventure. I will be releasing a video for almost everyday I was on trail, which was 172 of the best days of my life!
Hope this big series will be helpful in planning your own PCT thru hike in the future.
Enjoy and Happy Trails Everyone!
Started my SOBO PCT trip on July 9th 2017 and ended it on Dec 27 2017
Cameras I was using,
4K Sony Action Cam FDR X3000 for my video and for my stills I was using my Sony a6000.
They both performed really well!
In case anyone is wondering about the gear I brought out, I made a gear video before I started my thru hike. Here is the link

Everyday I look forward to the next upload of your PCT Thru Hike. Awesome videos man!
I love this guy! i'm nobody that does YT but I respect this lifestyle and the exploration. I'm a cave diver without a lot of backpacking experience. total respect and thanks for sharing!
Really enjoying the videos! Watching 2-3 a day to catch up! The flowers are so pretty! Heck everything is so beautiful!
Love the longer ones!!
Thats what she said LOL
Love all that you are doing the views are great. Nice treat for you to share your beers. I would think you come across more wildlife.👍
Definitely go back and hike the Goat Rocks when it is clear. You missed fantastic views of Adams, Rainier and the Goat Rocks themselves. Do the Mt. Snowy alternate next time, too. 2017 was an epic years for flowers in Washington, perhaps because the previous winter was so wet.
really enjoyed this one. what a great series. I love watching these just before going to bed and hope for dreams of the wilderness.
TREMENDOUS DAY!! but / ow! sorry about your heel.... and you guys are NUTS wow that water looks cold!! well done! between the flowers and the high ridge walk, one of our favorites to watch so far, Roxana and i love it thanks for taking us with you!
Thanks you two! It was an amazing day for sure, I will have to come back some day when it's not so smokey and rehome this section.
Such a beautiful section of the trail 👍
Love these!!!! Appreciate the work it takes to share these with us.
Eeeeeek! This ice cold water! You really look like a passionate outdoor swimmer, Hurlgoat Hiker! 😁
Beautiful day! Fun that you took the plunge and shared your beer! Loving everyone of these videos!
That was crazy seeing you guys get in the ice cold water! Talk about an ice cream brain freeze. :-). But that was so nice of you to share your beers. Good karma for you. Some of those drop offs from the trail would certainly get my attention, but I guess you just get used to them? Those were some killer climbs!
The goat rocks wilderness area is extremely popular here for sure.I can see why now.Great job capturing it on camera.Awesome day.I do not know how you guys manage up in those rocks in the trail runners.Got to be hard on the ankles. You did get robbed by the BC fires last year.Smokiest summer in my lifetime.
Too bad about that smoke. Man, you've got good eyes to have been able to see the mountain goats. Can't imagine how hot they were in the temps you were experiencing.
Awesome day for sure! Very nice of you to share those brews! Enjoying ur journey! Thanks for the effort to do this!
On Aug 3rd, I drove from Seattle to Mt Shasta for a hiking trip. The smoke didn't clear until we reached Medford Oregon. That was the worst fire season I've witnessed in WA.
What a gorgeous view of the water to wake up too...Loved seeing those goats. We had hoped to see some while we were in British Columbia last year, but never spotted one. Ouch, take care of that ankle...the cold water was probably great for it!
What a great day! The views looked awesome despite the smokey haze.....but, that dip in near freezing water was priceless! Thanks again for sharing your experiences! Filming these does take a lot of effort. And your filming is getting better and better! What's next for the Hurlgoathiker?
Man your a trooper I wonder how much extra mileage you did with all the walk away shots!
Another great video! I so enjoy watching them. I am very impressed as to how much planning you had to put into your hiking trip. All the organizing of the resupply boxes. How did you know where you can mail them to and know that they would still be there when you go to pick them up?
There is a lot of great resources on the internet to figure out all the logistics of such a trip.
How and where did you get your trail name HurlgoatHiker?
Cold, cold water! Guess you had to do it!
Just wondering if you hang a bear bag or not love the videos can't wait to see northern California going to do a small section in may
No I didn't hang my food, no one I hiked with did, glad to hear your heading out on the PCT in May. Northern California is amazing!
Did you use microspikes or crampons for the snow patches?
Not on the PCT.
I meant Old Snowy.
Are you camped at shoe lake in the beginning?
Corny I saw a video of the weather of G.R. from the tail end of June , of course poor quality but it was the G.R.. The only rocks were of Old Smokey or rock faces. Goat Lake was worse then what you jumped into, fringes of water along the edges. Poor quality made it hard to see the goats on the cliffs. Your video would have done one of my favorite spots justice.
