Wiggles is not just a great dancer, hes someone who has been contributing and defining this culture. He has been far longer in the platform and he's shared his knowledge of history and cultural facets in this medium of Hip Hop. So it reeks of unwarranted aggressiveness, I can understand if its an egomaniac with questionable skills, but he went in to look the fool, so be mindful of who is who in the dance community because in the end its your own dignity you may forgo.

Next thing you know he locks eyes with Wigz goes right up to Wigglez and calls him out. What was supposed to be a prelim turned into an impromptu battle. They each did two rounds and then they had to move on and let his partner get her turn, because she hadn't even gone up yet. Not to mention the event was on a time constraint and they had to get through the other rounds of the battles. They probably would have been there all night otherwise if the event didn't need to continue. Anyway, he did this because he has a high respect for Wigglez. And Wigglez and Popin Pete and others gave this guy his props for doing it. It was every exciting to see and everyone in the room's eyes got HUGE when he first beckoned him to step up. Was fun to watch. They even shook hands and talked afterward, took pictures all that. Opportunities to battle people like Wigglez don't come around very often where he's from. So it was an honor for him. Only thing I think he could have done differently was maybe he should have done the call out in a Cipher, rather than during PRELIMS. But sometimes you can't help what's in your heart, in that moment. And the young man said it felt right to do so in that moment, so that's why it happened. Unfortunately, this comment just says that you lack imagination. Maybe that's not true, and you're caught up in the hype of hating on something that's different, because that's what people seem to be doing right now. I hope that's not true, and I hope that you and others can see how dope it could be to bring different syles together, since that's what Popping is anyway, it's a bunch of different styles under one roof: puppet, robot, strutting, waving, tutting, bopping, boogaloo, animation, etc, etc. But innovators are always gonna get hate, it doesn't really harm them as much as it harms the person hating and limiting themselves, the dance and the culture. I heard the story (I wasn't in the scene back then) of how Salah was ridiculed when he first started with his clown/theatrical popping (you can even see one battle when Tommy Boy says he's not even popping, he's clowning, and maybe he was) and then he just started winning everything after a while, once his style became accepted.

no its not and you're incorrect in your assessment. When you have a high respect for someone it is not wrong to call them out. He did this out of RESPECT for Wigglez not the other way around.
By the way, calling someone out in a battle no matter WHAT their status is, THAT'S real hip hop. That guy earned people's respect for what he did. No one is above being called out. Wigglez was ready and down for whatever though and that's why you gotta respect that too.
