Explanation by DJ Renegade:
"The story.
The level in the UK popping scene has been rising for a few years, at least in some circles. For the ones that don't know, no UK popper had advanced thru the 1st round at Champs!! That is, until Brooke Milliner and Marvel Nicholas broke the curse and Alper followed shortly after.
Since then, these dancers have been winning consistently here and abroad. Add to them Breakz Samuels making a big impact twice at Eurobattle and Chase Willoughby winning the damn thing on his first international trip.
Regardless, we're getting a little ahead of the story.
So this year, at Eurobattle, 3 UK dancers advanced to the semi finals with one winning. This so impressed Tyrone Van der Meere(IBE) that he wanted to arrange an exhibition at IBE. Myself and Bruce would organise the teams.
Instead of making things complicated, we decided to use the guys that were at Eurobattle and add Paris Crossley for the feminine touch and great ability.
(Shawn Aimey and Rajib 'Holistik' Manandhar were also options).
It's not about camps, it's about being out there and making an impact outside ur comfort zone. It wasn't even about winning or losing. It's about testing urself and self improvement. Things u can't learn on the Internet.
For the French: It wasn't personal. There is no beef. It was an exhibition battle labelled as a "Callout". That shit is great for promotion. I know ALL the French dancers and have massive respect for their work and scene. I want to test my people against arguably the best scene in Europe and let u know my UK G's are coming(at least in Popping hahahah).
It wasn't done in a disrespectful way. Don't be insecure. Much respect and let's keep it moving."
The Notorious IBE is an annual Hip Hop Dance event. The 14th edition was organized on the the 8th,9th and 10th of August in Heerlen, The Netherlands. Dancers from around the world gather to celebrate the Hip Hop Dance culture with B-Boys,
Poppers, Lockers, House Dancers and many more.

That was a DOPE battle in every sense of the word, but I'd say the battle was pretty one sided.. Being from the UK I'd like to say they did better than France... They had some good bits from Chase, Brooke and Marvel in particular, but France came HARD and took it ever so slightly... Musicality did it for me but the UK were more original especially Brooke and Chase!! Good effort from both side and the group routines were dope!!

Almost a year old reply but it means "biting", stealing some move unique to another dancer. For example @ 11:10 Paris Crossley, the UK female, points out that the french guy is biting . That movie is one of Junior Bogaloos signature moves and there are a lot of unique moves I notice in his whole round that he seem to have bitten just for "wow" factor.
Needless to say that a lot of poppers do come up with similar moves and often cant be considered biting, just some signature moves that tend to be unique to a poppers style get called out and sometimes people just call out others for biting just to be an ass and throw them off their game

I think in general france are much better than the uk at popping right now but they had none of their top poppers in this team. they do have a lot of talent like japan and korea but obviously none of them were at this event. not calling these poppers bad (on both sides) but i think theres a good few poppers well above their levels
