Wow! I spent time in this stretch of the Wye Valley as a child, and have been back many times as an adult, so have seen lots of glimpses of this lost railway, but your video really brought it back to life for a moment there. I'm impressed by how this video is put together, especially as I make videos myself. I would have no idea how to go about something like this!
@@ghosttrainlostrailways the only one I can think of currently and forgive me if you have covered it already (I haven't checked all your videos yet) is local to me 'the strawberry line' which runs from Shepton Mallet to Clevedon. Most of it has already been converted to footpath.
Fabulous - thank you. I used to go to school by bus from Chepstow to Monmouth, and had spoken to forebears who used to do it by train pre-1959. I couldn’t visualise parts of that journey, and now I can 😊. And your music is wonderful too. Talented gentleman indeed 😊😊.
Another picturesque line which would if still there attract many users merely for the fun of riding it, making money from tourism and preserving railway connections to the wider system. It makes you weep.
Will try to include more line appropriate locos in future videos. In the early versions they are more a placeholder to get an idea of the track and direction etc rather than an accurate depiction
That line along with the Usk Valley line would today be economic and would refuce traffic congestion along the A40 and A449 roads which connect with the M4 which can get really busy. Although as the line ran close to the river Wye in some areas, measurements would have to be taken as the river is tidal and can burst its banks during high tide and heavy rain.

Thanks Richard! Feel free to subscribe got more lost journeys planned! 🎶 🚂
Amazing! Really enjoyed that. It must have been a wonderful train journey as were many others now long gone.
This the line I used to travel on when I went to visit family in Redbrook. A lovely trip, it's a shame is no longer available for tourists to use.
This is so beautiful..I live in Chepstow ❤️

What a brilliant creation! you deserve more subs, so I've obliged - Thanks 👍
Thanks! Appreciate the sub! 🚂
The ghost loco being a little tank engine is a welcome improvement and far more appropriate when it is hauling two carriages. Well done.

Such a clever way to show how the railways slotted into the landscape.
