    Good Morning. In the first picture in the breeding section you showed a pregnant female shrimp that very obviously had a LARGE horsehair worm inside her. I was rather surprised that you did not mention this or make any comments on how to prevent or remove this parasite. Sadly most medicinal remedies end up killing the shrimp anyway, so frankly it is probably best to euthanize the shrimp before it infects your other shrimp. When a horsehair worm is this large it is going to kill the shrimp anyway because it is eating it from the inside. I hope my comments help others that may see this parasite in their shrimp. Sincerely, Ogle's Fish Room

      Where was the parasite? What part of busy should I be looking at? I keep looking but I don’t see anything obviously standing out? Thank you

      @@quki3 Supposedly the horsehair worm can be white or black, but I personally can only spot the white ones. They look like a white thread. When young they look like a horseshoe shape with both ends pointing towards the tail from back of head. As they grow they look like a figure eight. They will not survive this, so I recommend killing the shrimp or feeding it to your big fish.
      To clarify... This parasite can not infect or hurt your fish, but will infect other shrimp.

    I caught them in a puddle that was actually a large pond with big predatory fish such as snakeheads, but it got dried up , turning into puddle. So i tried to scope them out but they are only 4, remaining are eaten by carbs, rasboras etc. Gratefully they are all healthy and playing around. They are naturally scavenge for dead bodies of animal rather than plant. Some of them grow upto 2 inches, and that's great.

I feed them all live food & I have to say that my Ghost shrimp LOVE their meaty foods more than their veggies and are quite the bullies when it comes to the other tank mates...

      The best fish to keep with shrimps are Neon Tettras, Cardinals, Harlequin Rassbora and Guppy. But I higly recommend if you just trying to breed, keep them by themself in a 10G tank. But if you just want to get rid of the planaria without worry about your adult shrimp get eaten guppies are the best to eat planaria and mosquuto larves. Keep us updated!

    Personally tank mates only matter if you don't have enough hiding places. I have ghost shrimp in with a kribensis, 14 zebra danios, 3 powder blue gouramis, an 6 green corys. The shrimp hide in the plants cave an rocks an they still reproduce. Now I'm not saying everyone should do it but experiment with your own set ups. I have multiple tanks set up with fish that "shouldn't" be with each other but get along great. Along with tanks that have so many fish in it that i get told that shouldn't be possible an that they should all be dead. Which is a 65 with a bit over 120 fish not including snails. So just experiment with it yourself.

    I can't find a single video that matches my situation, not a single one. I work with ghost shrimp shrimplets. We don't breed them. We keep them inside grave liners (we call them vats at work). With pvc on top that runs along the walls of the building that we keep the vats in. Each vat has adjustable valves for water pressure. Then, a single pvc pipe inside the vats for water circulation.
    The vats are plain with no rocks or anything fancy, just a single air stone in the vats.
    Now that you have an understanding of the setup.
    Every morning, we have deaths, so I was asked ChatGPT if it could explain to me what could be causing the deaths. One of the answers were that it may be because the water pressure is too high, creating too much water movement, stressing the shrimplets, causing them to die.
    This morning, I told my boss (my boss has been doing this type of work since he was 14 years old)
    That we may have the water pressure too high. He said that we don't want it low because the water needs to circulate. I tried to explain to him that there have been times when we loss water pressure, not completely but quite a bit from the typical amount of water pressure that we keep it at. I've noticed that the water doesn't look muggy and is still clear with very few amount of deaths or none at all.
    My boss says every time he sees that happen when we lose water pressure, the water is always muggy looking and more deaths than usual. Well, obviously, that's because it was probably too low, but I kept that to myself. He is the boss who says he has been doing this since he was 14. But I guess it doesn't truly matter if they are dying by morning time for as long as we siphon out the dead ones and they aren't dying by the time they reach their destination

      Hi, first Im so sorry for the lost of your shrimp, If water its good, the next step is to check temperature they last longer in cold water in warmer water the die fast they dont last very long that is why you need to breed them. Also make sure you have live algae or wafers make sure that they are the algea one and lastly tetras like high protein diet they migth nip them. Please keep ups updated.

      @jraquariumpr  2 роки тому

      I can't give you a 100% accurate time on how many week they will breed, but I can give you tips for higher success and speed up the process ; first is to make sure you adult population if you see any female with eggs at the petshop request to get them, Get a high population if you get at least 30 of them or more will increase your chance but with that being said you need a bigger tank at least a 20 G , heavy decorated with rocks with places to hide, second factor is feeding if you have a really good algae source that will help, You can use algae wafers but nothing better than natural algae. But the best way to reproduce this guys are in ponds you can make a pond even with a small pool or storage container. If you do this you will have a high chance that they will breed.
