In today’s adventures, we take you to Mahaual. This is also known as Costa Maya for anyone taking a cruise into Mexico. This is one of those cruise ship ports of call and we’re spending the day walking along the tourist section so we can tell you more about it.

We spent some time here catching up on our edits and videos. Initially, we wanted to make this a great video talking about how amazing this town was, but when we arrived, we were shocked by what we saw and needed time to figure out how we were going to make this video. Here’s our end result.

The town it’s beautiful, I go every time I can. Homeless from US not really, it’s one town where real state its starting to bloom and the prices are not for homeless. Trust me on that .

Thank you for the informative video!🤗 I loved seeing the option of riding bikes from the port to Mahahual. We're going there in a few weeks & we were looking for things to do outside the port w/out taking excursions. Planning to take a taxi to the Lighthouse and then walking along the beach -boardwalk to the shops and restaurants. NOW I'm very excited for Costa Maya! 😁

i was there last month only for 1 day/night but i did a lot....3 scuba dives where i spearfished lionfish and got to interact with a manatee. was very tempted to do a $25/hour massage wish i had. enjoyed and i will go back to dive chinchorro
Yes, heard the diving was good. We're certified, but with the editing and other touristy stuff we were recording we ran out of time to do it. Make sure you get that massage. $25 is a great price. Of course you could always go to Vietnam too, Check out those videos and let us know what you think.

How far was it from the port? Going to costa maya in 3 weeks and would like to go
We estimate that it's over a mile and a half. There will be taxis available from the port if you're on a cruise. We wouldn't recommend walking. We even used bikes to get around. It would take a half hour to walk there when you could be using that time to enjoy the boardwalk.
was there a supermarcedo in mahahual?
No, a couple mini supers and tiendas. There is this place, maps.app.goo.gl/tMRsLPGww89QyMUe9 but we didn't go there.

I will be going to this costa Maya. You had mentioned that you can get better deals than going through the Cruise company. How do I go about doing that?
Instead of taking a cruise down there, book a rental through AirBnB or look around when you arrive. They even have beach front spots, but are in tents. Also, don't go walking around while the cruise ships are in town, the locals will notice that you're not one of those kinds of tourist and bother you less. Hope you have fun.

That's a matter of personal preference. Sorry we can't help more on that comparison. Maybe a future video.
