I REMEMBER MR. SPENCER FLYING AROUND GREAT SOUTH BAY IN HIS HOME BUILT PUSHER AMPHIBIAN WHICH REPUBLIC PICKED UP ON AND BUILT AND NAMED THEIR VERSION...SEABEE. I SAT IN THE FIRST REPUBLIC VERSION AT THE BABYLON SEAPLANE BASE. THE COLONIAL SKIMMER,LATER THE LAKE ANPHIBIAN WAS MODIFIED THERE. I HELPED REAM OUT NEW MOTOR MOUNTS THERE. FOR THE SKIMMER.
I don't know how I never knew about this plane. I love seaplanes. And I am glad to find out the reason for the small door on the right front. I was curious what the point of that was.
And I agree, I don't see the point of the music. It seems like people feel that they need to add music to make it seem like a professional production instead of a home movie, but I don't think we need music in either.
Its a Republic RC-3 Seabee (sic!) not a CB ! Gee! They named them after the "Construction Battalions" of WW2 that fought in the Pacific! These units nicknamed themselves SEABEE's and their unit patch was a Bee wearing a Sailors outfit....
Much of this vid I enjoyed, some small hours flying one, until I became annoyed by the distracting unnecessary almost background ummmm is it music? The Nat sound you did have and use is all this vid needs, even though it's fairly obvious this Seabee is not equipped with the original Franklin engine, the Nat sound from whatever engine this is using is all the audio you need, besides the always welcome personal interviews.
Great plane😃 I was happy when the disturbing music stopped in the end

What engine?
The cowling looks to be the one fitted with the lycoming engine. Somewhere between 270-295 hp
It was, "USAir", then, "US Airways", not, "U.S." which is the abbreviation for, "United States".
