My dad said he met the late Lal Chand. His story is that my dad and his college friends went and got a bottle of sharaab (with great difficulty since they were quite young and could get in trouble with college officials) to gift it to him when he came to do a concert at their college. The elderly Yamla Jatt took the gift,opened the bottle, touched it to his forehead and told them to enjoy it. He wasn’t a drinker. He said he got his kicks from his music.
