F*ck sorry y’all I messed up the schedule ! Sorry for the late upload but we here! Appreciate y’all watching and commenting this one is a good one!! Also we meant Azelia banks hahahahhahahahahaha good catch!
The secton was tough to watch - talking about two different topics - both worthy of discussion - would have love to hear both of your take on AZELIA Banks comment.
1:33:52 unlike other countries that committed genocides and ethnic cleansing, Germany actually teaches about the genocides. From what I remember, there are plaques and statues dedicated to the people that were murdered. The best way to not repeat atrocities is to learn and teach which I think Germany is doing good on so far
Only germany do it cuz they forced too cuz they lost the war, , why do you think feance belguim uk and resr conolial gang thugs never acknwoalge their conolial history and genocides against natives cuz they didnt loss the war.

Yes definitely!!! We even go on study trips to the concentration camps and there are so many historic monuments all around the whole country that are build in memory of the victims.
I’m here for every moment of this. Bring this beautiful women back! AND she’s one of David’s day 1’s! Wow. This conversation gave me insight, it shut me up, it taught me, it supported me, it humbled me. I felt seen and I felt understood and validated but also! I felt called out and corrected. Balance! Thank you, to both of you.
I’ve started listening to this podcast in my sophomore year of college. Not only am I constantly entertained but I’m engaged in the conversation David has with his guests. I’m always learning something regardless of if it’s about movies/tv shows or heavy topics like race and culture!!
MY GIRL! As a millennial this episode hit so much at home. It was like I was listening to some homies just talk and hang. I loved it. Thank you David for bringing us entertaining conversations. Much love. ❤
I loved this one so much. 3 hours of meaningful conversation that's the perfect combo of deep and light-hearted that kept me listening and engaged. "If that was a tomato, he would've tackled me" and she's funny, too. 😅😅
listened to the episode on spotify and it was sooo good ! the talk re people seeing ghetto as something they wouldn't want to emulate is relatable. i'm asian and i recently had a conversation with some people (also asian) and when they were describing a person they met through a friend, they described them as ghetto. when i asked what they meant by that, because that doesn't... really tell me much, they kept repeating that as the descriptor for her. i knew they had negative characteristics in mind, but i wanted them to say what they actually meant and i guess own up to it in a way? idk if that makes sense. anyway, after a lot of back and forth, they eventually described her as quiet, which is totally different from what people think of when they hear the word "ghetto"? it was an odd conversation because even though i was simply asking for them to define her with like.... different characteristics, they kept defending ? their use of ghetto as a descriptor as if it's sufficient / assumed that we have the same definition of it
Man buying cds to burning cds brought back so much memories and listing each song on the cd damn thank you Limewire. Think the only thing closest to that is kpop where cd purchasing still relevant. Cheers David So for the nostelgia and thoughtful discussion.
I went through the same situation with a bad friends in life. Their kid grow up, 18+, texted me after 4 years of no communication. Seeking help cause kid knew the parents wasn't gonna help or can't. Help the kid back on their feet. I feel so loved that the kid came to me for help and able to
Oh man the chat you guys had over religion and sins, is so on point for me. Being Korean British the amount of arguments I've had with my mum over that is insane. I'll say you can't hate homosexuality and do all the sins you do. Telling lies is a sin, getting divorced is a sin, gluttony is a sin and so much more normal things Christians throw under the bed. Im a Christian too but as I said to my mum you can't pick and choose which part of the bible you wanna believe in, you either follow it all or don't take every line was was written 2000 years ago literally.
I WAS WRONG AS TWO LEFT SHOES! but even worse, in my head I’m seeing the episode play out and still talking about a white woman. But, Ms. Banks also picks and chooses when she’s Black, soooo…🤷🏽♀️
David So, I fuck with you. You stay true to yourself and it motivates me, as I cared WAY too much about what people thought about me throughout my 20's. Been watching you since 08 mad respect!
I really enjoyed this podcast. Especially the part about trying to assimilate. I’m a gen z Asian kid with Asian peers that say things such as “I wish to have white neighbors” or “I hate my own culture” which sounds stupid af to me. What’s also wild to me is the fact that my asian peers want to dissociate themselves from me based on the fact that I act/talk “ghetto”. This weird behavior of self hate and wanting to fit in is absurd to me. So thank you David and Megan for talking about a plethora of topics that my generation fails to talk about. Been watching you since I was a lil kid, I appreciate what you’ve done and representing the other side of Asian culture in America.
Hello, German here and I can say I'm a 1000% certain, that every student as soon as they hit the ripe age of 11-13 years they get teached so much about the Holocaust in school. It's too much and they almost don't learn about any other important History events... Great Podcasts, you do great!!🙃
Totally the wine talking. The context I meant was that it’s not sugar coated or glazed over. In America, people that have committed atrocious acts but are still martyred as “American heroes”.
Wait, when he was talking about the beef, and mentioned the kids wondering what happened to their friendship, is he talking about tiff and Casey? If it's not them, I'm very sorry for making that assumption, but I felt like they kinda fit the description.
1:59:06 The signing of the Emancipation Proclamation was a literal political move. Lincoln chose to sign to stop the war from worsening, not because he was empathetic to the enslaved people. It’s like the equivalent of giving two toddlers both a cookie because they started fighting with each other when only one had a cookie. It was a move to keep the peace. This also speaks to how much American history has been revised and altered as well. Just like they made us believe in elementary school that the indigenous people were just overjoyed to help the colonizers and give them their crops/resources… Great time listening to y’all, can’t wait to have Megan back again!
As a black young woman raised by an ultra religious mom, dad and grandmother, I am at the age where I am consistently having these hard conversations about my new realized belief system. I recently had this conversation with my Nana and said the same things about cherry picking sins. I am of the mindset that I am not going to sit up and lie in God's face about who I am, what I am, and what I know I am going to do or not do. If the God I believe knows me, made me perfect, but still says that I'm not good enough for x sin I committed, then I'm just going to be a good person and love human beings. I think its very important to have these conversations, and as we get older and live our authentic selves to stand ten toes for those beliefs. Love this episode. Thanks for the 3hrs!
1:54:27 ONE MILLION PERCENT. There was no legality behind the European immigration. Beyond that, White Americans have been taught that they are native to the Americas. This is why Americans of color get ask “what country are you from” or “where are your parents from?” ALL THE TIME. So many gems this episode but I’m glad you guys talked about topics like this.
I remember when you had Megan on the pod before - she is so wonderful to listen to, and I love that she keeps it real. I hope she comes back sooner rather than later!
I've never seen two people have such a disconnected conversation about two different people and never even realize it. How David not realize that she wasn't even talking about Azelia Banks when she started mentioning White Privilege in a black space, BBL, and using a culture. The slip up of names was one thing but it was a whole deep dive into someone not even involved.
i briefly went to an hbcu and hated the experience, and ended up going to a pwc and enjoying my experience a lot more. but it is interesting to hear david and megan's perspectives
around 1:33:30 ish, they said the germans don't teach aout the holocaust. The broader point is correct because a lot of countries don't teach about their atrocities, but (correct me if im wrong), Germany is apparently pretty good about teaching about the nazis and trying not to repeat stuff like that.
SAY IT AGAIN FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK!!! Yes, repeat this whole podcast again for those in the back! So much real shit was said and I'm glad you posted all of it.
First of all, i love this podcast and i am a long time viewer. I love the longer format! However i do have to point out, that the point made about education in germany, where you assume that german education does not cover the holocaust is wrong. If any country teaches about the horrific things that happened at the holocaust, it is germany and they actually make sure of it. I do agree that colonist european countries do not teach enough about slavery or even any kind of exploitation through colonisation. For context, i say this out of experience as i am an asian person growing up in europe. They indeed just brush over those chapters of history.
Everyone code switches. You are not going totalk to your boss like you talk to your bestfriend. Everyone assimilates if you are going to move to a diffrent country you will assimilate to a certain degree to fit in to make friends etc.
I have never heard of this lady before. But, I think that this Woman is a Fantastic & Engaging, in this revealing convo. Facts, Real Talk; this is some Dead A$$ /serious iSh. She's a Dope Teacher. Frfr..
My mom is the same way she will never talk bad about my siblings SOs and will listen to my siblings and give them advice but will never chose sides as she believes their relationship is their relationship and she’s an outsider of their relationships
I don't wanna ruin it for them so... just literally look up the exact description they said to describe them on google. you will see a video thumbnail that's pretty close to their description.

Late upload. Because it spend forever rendering a 3 hr long episode. Lmao!
The secton was tough to watch - talking about two different topics - both worthy of discussion - would have love to hear both of your take on AZELIA Banks comment.
Kinda attacking the wrong person buuuuuut great podcast
Just heard the whole of the podcast and man we got spoilt! 3 hours of audio goodness. She’s such a great guest too hehe
I wished I had her as my teacher. Wished someone would have told me that it's okay to acknowledge trash parent

Megan is an amazing person! Teachers need a raise and appreciate more!

Respectfully, in Germany they teach students about the holocaust.
I'm in Belgium and I don't remember being taught about Leopold II atrocities. That was 25 years ago. Hopefully now it has changed.
Love the people you choose to bring on the podcast, this is some great content!!!!
Man buying cds to burning cds brought back so much memories and listing each song on the cd damn thank you Limewire. Think the only thing closest to that is kpop where cd purchasing still relevant. Cheers David So for the nostelgia and thoughtful discussion.
I could listen to Megan speak all day 👏🏼 what a great podcast!

I WAS WRONG AS TWO LEFT SHOES! but even worse, in my head I’m seeing the episode play out and still talking about a white woman. But, Ms. Banks also picks and chooses when she’s Black, soooo…🤷🏽♀️
Just a minor correction, I think you misspoke when talking about DC Young Fly. It was Azalea Banks not Iggy Azalea.
Lol yes hahahahahahhaah lol I said iggy azalea LOL AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I always mix their names too haha
Yeah I was like...she said yt privilege and I was like oh they misspoke. Points are still valid.

3 freaking hours?!? Listened to every bit of it. Solid episode.

Thank you for the perspective on black Latinos it’s so specific to be black and Hispanic at once this culture is very unique

I started turning it on them and asking where they are FROM. It comes off as quite rude to them :p
Respect to both. Love the real conversation!!!! Not superficial or dry!!!!

I love this guest! Thanks for the upload!
Everyone code switches. You are not going totalk to your boss like you talk to your bestfriend. Everyone assimilates if you are going to move to a diffrent country you will assimilate to a certain degree to fit in to make friends etc.
Is David talking about Casey and tiff?
I have a suspicion
The mention of kids made me think it was about them
Casey isn't Korean, so I don't think so.
Hard No
@@nickvicspokegimmicks3346right Casey isn't Korean 🤣
David looked like a proud tomato dad when she talked about his 70k tomato’s 😂
Iggy Izelia catching strays for something she aint even do lol.
As they should
🤦🏾♂️🤣🤣went in on iggy who had nothing to do with it
Whaaaat 3 hours 🥲 yessss ! Sundays are for Daaaaavid 😌❤!

This episode hit different for me cause I've been mad insecure about who I am as a person. I always wanted to just fit in but it's ok to just exist
I can listen to this woman talk all day to be real she’s so passionate
This was an amazing episode. 3 hours of greatness
Lmao iggy caught flag for no reason 😂😂ik david didnt mean it and its just his old headness showing but thats funny as hell 😂😂
I have never heard of this lady before. But, I think that this Woman is a Fantastic & Engaging, in this revealing convo. Facts, Real Talk; this is some Dead A$$ /serious iSh. She's a Dope Teacher. Frfr..
Banger episode.
This is a crazy good podcast,3 HOURS
3 HOURS? LETS GOOOOOOOOO
Megan's laugh is very contagious!
My mom is the same way she will never talk bad about my siblings SOs and will listen to my siblings and give them advice but will never chose sides as she believes their relationship is their relationship and she’s an outsider of their relationships
Loved this episode omg
sheesh thank u for your work David
To be fair. Nobody listening to a whole Drake album anymore. Just go straight the 21 track on each one cuz there's 20 songs of dog shit
I gotta know who the black/Korean couple they’re talking about is 👀👀😭
I don't wanna ruin it for them so... just literally look up the exact description they said to describe them on google. you will see a video thumbnail that's pretty close to their description.
I was thinking of Maze Lee then i was right when i looked it up. Damn it's wild.
10:48 Yep, I had a three song rule before buying the entire album
Now I need to know the vloggers, I almost thought it was Mazelee and was like nooooo! But i don't think it's anyone I watch since I'm pretty good at recognizing phonees, but that story sounds wild.
Thank you Megan for the history lesson!🎉🎉🎉
I thought it was Azelia Banks? 😂😂
Omg they ripping into the wrong azalea 😭😭😭
Yea and his friend didn't catch it lol
Yeah I was confused for a second too
Ya she was talking about white privilege but I could have swore banks was black
It's an innocent mistake that David makes sometimes.
Had me over here googling Azelia Banks and shit 😂
