What and awesome review, binge watching absolutely loving the channel.
Thanks for the review Ernie! Great video content!
Thank you. Another solid video. You helped me through this ice age texas is going through with lack of power. My backpacking stove is working miracles. You just saved the day for showing my the right amount to put in my new press. Thank you for you time and effort you put into these videos.
I have this product and have used it for years. It’s really good. Easy to clean and very durable. Have to make sure you don’t over fill otherwise when you put in the press it will over flow so just keep the water level lower from the top. I’ve had no leakage issues and it keeps coffee warm for quite a while. I recommend it if thinking about it.
Thanks for the review. This looks awesome.
Great video brother! I love my GSI Products!
It looks like a good product. Good review my friend. Take Care and Keep Exploring The Outdoors.
Great review Ernie. I would use it for traveling in the car. Press could take up some space in a pack, but could use inside of the press for coffee storage or other items.
Thanks for this review. Ran out to REI and picked one up for 16.93. Made an excellent coffee as soon as I got home. Definitely going with me hiking tomorrow. 👍
Good video and great audio/speaking
Nice review! I look forward to the stove review. From what I’ve learned about these top down burn stoves, when you use your bellows you should blow air into the vent holes at the bottom. If you blow from the top like you did in the video, it tends to hurt more than help. Keep up the great videos!
great review
Thanks, great review, and no not hot and muggy in Minnesota lol, was 10 below this morning
I like it looks like it works well
awesome content
Toaks woodstove is the shiz! Love mine.
I had the larger press from GSI for a while and absolutely loved it. It came up missing At a meet up. I may need to get another. Lol
Good product i buddy has one. The price is definitely the only con. Good review bud
Thanks for the solid review 🙂. I've looked at this product for a few years now but heard it has issues with spillage... apparently coffee can spill out between the plunger and outer mug - where they meet at the top. I'm curious if you have that problem *with some bouncing around* in a pack etc. Thx again.
I love GSI products!
nice review. any suggestions for creamer for backpacking. I like cream but not sure if it will keep on several day adventures.
Great presentation. Only thing I have a pick with is that I purchased the slime green sleeve, so when my coffee drips... it drips on the green. For some reason I thought it would be drip proof airtight. I still love it tho
Great video! I am toying with the idea of a quiring one of these coffee presses, currently I use an arrow press which I have zero complaints with, but this just eliminates a couple more steps in the coffee making process. The aero press works good with all types of grinds, I have heard that this particular GSI press has issues with fine grind coffee. Can you confirm this?
Stanley makes something similar that makes about 8 cups, love it for groups.
I finally bought this Java press last night. I got the green one..it goes with my Stanley gear. LOL.
Gsi makes a stainless commuter press. It is a very well insulated travellers mug, but also a french press.
Woodknot Press. Titanium cook pot AND coffee press. Comes in a 750 and 900ml version

Did you mean to say BPA free or is it indeed made of BPA plastic? Excellent review either way.
You Good Presenter...!!
I've just bought one and the filter glass is completely jammed inside cant get it out not even used yet? Any help
what backpacking have you done besides inside Louisiana?
How do you like the GSI traveler press vs. the traveler Stanley Press? I’m guess with this one being plastic it’s lighter, but the Stanley would be more durable 🤔. Thanks 🙏
nothin better on a hot muggy day than a mug'a hot coffee they say.
I've noticed that your pinky on your left hand( the side where your watch is) it bends a little funny did you break it at some point?
Perhaps some clinodactyly. Also looks like joint hypermobility. Good observation.
Really great review on this one. This video actually persuaded us more or convinced us more I should say in getting this for me and my husband. We normally drink 2 to 3 cups of coffee a day (with the exception of being at work which means MORE) but.... this commuter java press is really something else tho. I cant believe we havent seen this before until we clicked on some random videos with GSI content in it. Sooo worth it. Sooo satisfying to learn more of the functionality and capability of the product. This will really enhance our camping experience on the next level. My husband and I both love coffee so this is a must have!
You did say it is made from BPA plastic. Maybe you meant to say BPA free? I don't drink from BPA.
First off, let me start by saying "Hi Ernie!" And thank you for all the videos you have put out. I found your channel by happenstance some time back and I got hooked. So, I have been like many others interested in this type of robust / outdoors coffee press to use while on missions during my time in the Army. Never got one ( retired after 40yrs). Now, let me break your heart. I found one of these exact styles in black about two weeks at the Home Goods here in Corpus Christ on Clearance for under $5.00. And to answer someone else question about grinds. I just made some for the first time using "Seattle's Best-6th Ave Bistro" blend and it worked just fine. And No leaks from the side when drinking direct. Must be one of those "results may vary " type things. Again, Thanks Doc for all your production work and for taking the time from work and family for our viewing pleasure and knowledge shared/gained. Have a fine Army day. Gunrunner7 🥷
