Dear God, Please help us see our wrongdoings that we're not even aware of. Not to justify them Lord, but to reject them. Forgive us, Lord Jesus and please give us the grace of determination not to offend You anymore. Sorry 😔
Amen. Great teaching! Having the head knowledge of Christ's atonement, which is grace, needs to be combined with the heart knowledge to desire to follow God's commandments of love. Meaning you are save by grace through faith.
Let's not forget Paul also said "faith working through Love" Everytime I read 1 John I get a degree of anxiety because I don't know if I'm the professing Christian he talks about..so much has changed about me and yet I have given into temptation which I deeply regret. I wonder if I am repentant or just sin far less..John said "we cannot sin" is he talking about achieving sinless perfection after receiving Christ?. Then there is chapter 5 where he talks about a sin unto death and sin that is not unto death..have I sinned unto death? What does it mean?. For one thing I do believe death is referring to hell not death of the body. Nothing about Christianity seems to be about preservation of our mortal bodies but of our soul
Any time anyone asks, "Are you a true Christian?", you have a one in about 45,000 chances of getting it right. There are so many different versions of Christianity in the world today and they are al stating the same thing. "My way is the right way. You will go to {the hot place} because you aren't a TRUE CHRISTIAN" If you have faith in God. You're done. There is no "TRUE" Christian, Muslim or Jew. There is only a person with faith in their heart. End of story.
In the Gospel according to St. John he records John the baptist telling one of his disciples the exact same thing. “Whoever BELIEVES in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not OBEY the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” John 3:36 ESV “Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him:” 1 John 2:4-5 ESV God bless

The commandment we had from the beginning is that we love one another. This is the new commandment that Jesus gave.
Thanks and God bless
Amen!
