- (Try with headphones) Fun again with the two Lyras. Having two possibly seems unnecessary - but listen to the sound (using two instruments in real-time is a different mindset than layering post). Great sound: great instrument(s) - very different from the norm. RE the track: all oscs pre-tuned for this one. There's also some external fx added; channel distortion during the initial section is intentional.
The Lyra can sound like a factory in hell, or a chord/sunrise in heaven.
Enjoy/all best
Kris
BEAUTIFUL harmonies. You've made these unpredictable beasts sing.
The two machines are so well in time with each other. Almost like they were listening to each other and having a conversation. Giving feedback, learning to be better machines.
Amazing performance. Joy to listen. Fantasic job. Despite the fact that my preference falls more for using those instruments in an improvisational way, without trying to tune them into precision, you musical act is wonderful! Well done dude!
Mind blowing
Damn it. You are now making me covet a second Lyra.
Right?!
Thought the same thing... Need to just do better with one!
Personally I went for an Ornament-8. Check out my latest single "Sous-Marin" on my channel to see the results. It opens another door and dimension to the Lyra 8, though I absolutely admire this piece of music and the two Lyra's approach. It's just a different direction in the tesseract of Lyra.
stunning drone scape !
This is fantastic
Sounds great
Lovely and understated. I appreciate your attention to the sonic detail here.
I've watched your LD-2 videos. Do you think the LD-2 would work alongside the Lyra?
This is how to use the Lyra-8.
Thanks for posting, Kris.
I'd absolutely love to hear what you would do with an Elmyra, with or without a Lyra 8. Your ability to so casually master one instrument after the other, combined with a profound yet seemingly effortless understanding of even the most abstract dimensions of music theory, are both fascinating and intimidating at the same time.
Are you using a delay ?
1. what was your thought process that led to two Lyras?
2. what prep work did you do before recording this? how much time had you put in with both machines in unison? what were the throw away sessions like?
really amazing end result. congratulations!
must turn the laptop upside down to actually observe what you are doing
